1. Inleiding
Deze gebruiks-
aanwijzing bevat
belangrijke infor-
matie. Bewaar
deze gebruiksaan-
wijzing daarom
zorgvuldig.
U heeft gekozen voor een AVS spiraalbodem;
geheel afgestemd op uw eigen wensen. De
spiraalbodems verschillen per type in de ver-
stelmogelijkheden. De matrassen verschillen
in gebruik van materialen en functies.
De AVS spiraalbodem is voorzien van
Comfortslides®ter hoogte van uw schouders
en heupen. Met deze slides kunt u de spi-
raalvorm aanpassen aan uw lichaamsvorm. De
spiraalbodem biedt hierdoor optimale onder-
steuning en comfort.
Door het open oppervlakte van de spiraalbo-
dem ventileert deze optimaal, waardoor een
fris en hygiënisch slaapklimaat ontstaat.
Alle matrassen uit de Auping collectie zijn
geschikt voor gebruik op de verstelbare AVS
spiraalbodems. De matras is door middel van
comfortzones aangepast aan de gewichts-
verdeling van het lichaam. De schouderzone is
iets soepeler, terwijl het zitgedeelte juist extra
verstevigd is. Deze zonering zorgt voor extra
comfort en een nog betere ondersteuning bij
zowel zitten als liggen op de matras.
Dankzij de gladde vezel glijdt de matras-
bodem, tijdens het verstellen, over het rugdeel
van de spiraalbodem.
Met de matraskoppelingen wordt de matras
op de spiraalbodem bevestigd. De matras kan
zo niet meer verschuiven en volgt de bewegin-
gen van de spiraalbodem moeiteloos. De
matrassen zijn asymmetrisch opgebouwd uit
verschillende materialen en hoeven daarom
niet te worden gekeerd.

1.2 Persoonlijke instelling
Met behulp van de Comfortslides®kunt u de
spiraalbodem aanpassen aan uw lichaams-
vorm. Bij brede schouders en/of heupen
schuift u de betreffende slides naar buiten. Bij
smalle schouders en/of heupen schuift u de
betreffende slides naar binnen.
1.3 Technische informatie
Gewicht
- AVS spiraalbodem type 433,
maat 90 x 200: 28 KG.
2. Veiligheidsaanwijzingen
■De AVS spiraalbodem mag alleen door de
Auping specialist worden gemonteerd.
■De AVS spiraalbodem is alleen geschikt
voor particulier gebruik.
■Verstelbare bedden hebben bewegende
delen. Zorg ervoor dat ledematen niet
bekneld kunnen raken.
■Verstel het bed alleen wanneer u in het bed
ligt. Let op dat tijdens het verstellen zich
geen kinderen onder het bed bevinden.
■De spiraalbodem is geen kinderspeelgoed.
Laat kinderen niet met het bed spelen.
■Gebruik het bed niet als trampoline of
trapje.
■Gebruik een Auping AVS spiraalbodem in
combinatie met een Auping matras.
■De AVS spiraalbodem is niet bedoeld te
gebruiken door personen met een geeste-
lijke aandoening of geestelijke achterstand
en kinderen. Tenzij zij zijn geïnstrueerd over
het gebruik en de gevaren.
■Plaats het bed uitsluitend in droge ruimtes.
Het is niet toegestaan het bed in vochtige
ruimtes te plaatsen.
■Ga niet op het hoofd- of voeteneinde zitten
als deze omhoog staan.
■Laat de bediening direct los als er iets
bekneld raakt tussen de bewegende delen.
■Rook niet in bed en houd brandende voor-
werpen uit de buurt van het bed.
■Open de gasveer niet. De gasveer staat
onder hoge druk.

3. Ingebruikname
3.1 De onderdelen van uw spiraalbodem
- Auping AVS spiraalbodem.
Uw leverancier heeft uw AVS spiraalbodem
voor u geïnstalleerd.
Voor overige onderdelen en gedetailleerde
montage-instructies verwijzen wij u naar de
montagekaarten, bijgevoegd bij de diverse
onderdelen.
3.2 Positie van de poten
Voor een juiste gewichtsverdeling is het van
groot belang dat de onderzetpoten op de
juiste wijze worden gemonteerd. Dit betekent
dat de onderzetpoten op de afstanden
geplaatst moeten worden volgens de afbeel-
ding (bovenaanzicht van het bed):
3.3 Bevestigen van de Auping matras
Zet uw bed in de vlakke positie.
Let er goed op dat de vijf pootjes van de
bevestigers in de breedterichting van het
netwerk komen te staan (zie fig. 2).
‘Click’ de bevestigers op de aangegeven plaat-
sen in het netwerk (zie fig. 2).
Let er op dat de bevestigers zich niet direct
boven een dwarsbuis bevinden.
Leg de matras midden op de spiraalbodem.

3.4 Gebruiksklaar maken
Controleer of de spiraalbodem vrij kan bewegen.
Verstel de spiraalbodem alleen horizontaal
liggend in uw bedomranding, of staand op de
onderzetpoten.
Controleer of de Auping matras goed aan de
spiraalbodem bevestigd is.
3.5 Tips voor het gebruik
Een nieuwe matras heeft een bepaalde
stramheid, die na een paar dagen verdwijnt.
Hierdoor zal uw matras de eerste verstel-
bewegingen van de spiraalbodem niet opti-
maal volgen. Wij raden u aan om op de matras
te gaan liggen tijdens de eerste verstel-
bewegingen.
4. Bediening
4.1 Handverstelbare delen
Rugdeel omhoog
Trek aan het verstelkoordje en breng het
bovenlichaam naar voren. Het rugdeel komt
automatisch naar boven. Laat het koordje los
wanneer de gewenste stand bereikt is.
Rugdeel omlaag
Trek aan het verstelkoordje en leun
achterover. Het rugdeel gaat omlaag. Laat het
koordje los wanneer de gewenste stand
bereikt is. Eventueel kunt u de gasveerkracht
zelf wijzigen (zie 4.3).
Voeteneind
Het voeteneind heeft 6 verstelstanden. Trek
rustig aan het handvat tot de gewenste stand
is bereikt. U kunt het voeteneind in een lagere
stand brengen door dit eerst helemaal om-
hoog te trekken en vervolgens te laten zakken.
4.2 Instellen Comfortslides
®
De spiraalbodem kan ingesteld worden op
basis van uw lichaamsvorm (zie pag. 6). De
slides zijn geplaatst in de spiraalbodem ter
hoogte van uw schouders en heupen.
Neem de matras van de spiraalbodem.
De illustraties van mogelijke standen van de
Comfortslides
®
zijn voorbeelden. U kunt de
slides uiteraard instellen zoals u dat zelf het
prettigst vindt.
Til de slides iets op, verschuif de slides tot de
gewenste positie.
Plaats de matras terug op de spiraalbodem.

4.3 Wijzigen van de gasveerkracht
De kracht waarmee het rugdeel van de spiraal-
bodem wordt op- en neerbewogen is instelbaar.
Er zijn drie mogelijkheden:
1. licht (bovenste gat): kiest u de instelling ‘licht’,
dan is het rugdeel extra makkelijk vlak te
duwen.
2. normaal (middelste gat): standaardinstelling.
3. zwaar (onderste gat): kiest u de positie
‘zwaar’, dan komt het rugdeel extra krachtig
omhoog.
4.4 Instellen van de veerkracht
1. Zet het rugdeel voor de helft omhoog.
2. Draai de kunststof kartelmoer los (zie fig. 3).
3. Pas op: ondersteun het rugdeel en haal de
verbindingspen eruit (let op het kunststof
lagerbusje in het oog van de gasveer).
4. Plaats het oog van de gasveer op de gewen-
ste positie. Het bovenste gat, richting
netwerk geeft de lichtste verstelling.
5. Druk de verbindingspen door de hefarm en
het oog van de gasveer (let op het kunststof
lagerbusje in het oog van de gasveer).
6. Draai de kunststof kartelmoer vast (zie fig. 4).
4.5 Verplaatsen van de bedieningsbol
De bedieningsbol van uw spiraalbodem zit aan
de rechterzijde, maar is eenvoudig naar de
linkerzijde te verplaatsen.
1. Haal de knoop A uit het koord B en
verwijder de bol C (zie fig. 5).
2 Trek aan de beschermslang D en haak die
van de koorddoorvoer E en schuif de slang
van het koord (zie fig. 6).
3. Leg een knoop in het uiteinde van het
koord.
4. Trek aan de andere kant van het bed aan
het koord.
5. Verwijder de knoop.
6. Haal het koord door de beschermslang.
(Eerst door het oog, daarna door het
buisje.)
7. Haak en trek de beschermslang over de
koorddoorvoer.
8. Steek het koord door het kleinste gat van
de bol.
9. Leg in het uiteinde van het koord een
knoop.
10.Trek de bedieningsbol over de knoop.

5. Storingen
Ongewenste geluiden
(piepen en kraken van het bed)
Ongewenste geluiden worden meestal ver-
oorzaakt door bewegende delen die elkaar
raken.
De oorzaak hiervan kan een onderdeel zijn dat
mist. Ook kunnen delen niet goed vast zijn
gemaakt of los zijn geraakt door het verplaat-
sen van het bed.
Controleer of:
- het bed goed vlak staat;
- of het bed vrij van de muur staat;
- of er geen voorwerpen in het bed liggen die
daar niet horen (lepels, vorken, pennen, etc.).
Let op!
Bij een defecte gasveer kan het rugdeel
omhoog komen.
Zorg ervoor dat het bedieningskoord vrij kan
bewegen en dat het niet bekneld raakt tussen
omranding en spiraalbodem.
6. Reiniging en onderhoud
Vlekken op de spiraalbodem werkt u weg met
een vochtig doekje en een zacht schoonmaak-
middel. Gebruik nooit een schuursponsje of
schuurmiddelen.
Stof de spiraalbodem en het onderstel af en
toe even af.
Vanwege de zorg van Auping voor het milieu,
is het product voorzien van poedercoating. In
de eerste weken na aanschaf kan onder het
bed wat lakstof vallen. Dit is onschuldig en laat
zich gemakkelijk verwijderen.

7. Afvoer verpakking
en product
Auping investeert jaarlijks in schonere produc-
tieprocessen en probeert door het gebruik van
duurzame materialen het milieu zo min
mogelijk te belasten. De matrassen worden
gemaakt van CFK-vrije materialen. De matras
wordt op een zodanige manier vervaardigd dat
er bij de productie geen onnodig afval
ontstaat. De spiraalbodems zijn gemaakt van
verzinkt staal. Dit is geschikt voor recycling.
Verhuizen
Verplaats de AVS spiraalbodem nooit door aan
de lussen voor de handverstelbare delen te
tillen. Hierdoor kan er onherstelbare schade
aan de scharnierdelen ontstaan en deze valt
niet onder de garantie.
Zorg ervoor dat de spiraalbodem niet open
kan vallen tijdens het vervoer. Zet het onder-
en bovenframe vast, eventueel met sjorban-
den. Verwijder geen schroeven van de spiraal-
bodem.
Veilige afvalverwerking
Het frame staat onder hoge veerspanning
door het opgespannen netwerk van de spiraal-
bodem. Verzwak de constructie van het frame
op geen enkele wijze.
Het verpakkingsmateriaal bestaat uit karton
en polyethyleenfolie. Voer het verpakkingsma-
teriaal en uw oude bed op verantwoorde wijze
en conform de overheidsbepalingen af.

8. Auping Garantie
De merknaam Auping staat borg voor
jarenlang probleemloos functioneren. Auping
maakt gebruik van hoogwaardige en duurzame
materialen. Elk product wordt met de grootste
zorg gefabriceerd en nauwkeurig gecontroleerd
voordat het de fabriek verlaat.
Auping geeft levenslange garantie op materiaal-
en fabricagefouten van alle bedbodems
(waaronder te verstaan: spiraalbodems en stalen
frames) met uitzondering van de motoren,
gasveren, elektronica en kunststof delen (zoals
Comfortslides®en stoffen einddelen). Op
materiaal- en fabricagefouten van laatst--
genoemde artikelen en van matrassen en
dekbedden wordt 5 jaar garantie gegeven op
basis van jaarlijkse afschrijving van 20% van de
aankoopwaarde. Dit houdt in dat, mochten zich
materiaal- of fabricagefouten voordoen, in het
eerste jaar na factuurdatum de volledige kosten
van vervanging of reparatie vergoed worden. In
de volgende 4 jaren wordt dit steeds 20%
minder. Op kussens is de garantietermijn 2 jaar.
Op overige artikelen wordt 5 jaar volledige
garantie gegeven. De garantietermijn gaat in op
de datum die vermeld staat op de factuur.
Voorwaarde is wel dat onze plaatsingsinstructies
en onderhoudsadviezen correct gevolgd zijn en
dat sprake is van normaal huishoudelijk gebruik.
Indien zich materiaal- of fabricagefouten
voordoen, verplicht Auping zich zulke fouten
gratis te herstellen volgens de Auping garantie
voorwaarden. Indien het defect niet hersteld
kan worden, vervangt Auping het product
binnen de garantietermijn zonder kosten door
hetzelfde, of indien niet meer leverbaar, door
een gelijkwaardig product. Uitsluitend Auping
bepaalt of een fout hersteld wordt door
vervanging, reparatie of vergoeding.
Aanspraken op garantie voor gebreken/
beschadigingen ontstaan door ondoelmatig
handelen (bijvoorbeeld door overbelasting),
verkeerd of onoordeelkundig gebruik of door
normale slijtage, worden uitgesloten.
Combinaties met niet-Auping producten
kunnen, afhankelijk van de aard van de klacht,
tot beperkingen in de garantie-aanspraak
leiden.
Een aanspraak op garantie dient eerst door
Auping als gegrond erkend te worden. Bij een
gegronde klacht zal Auping het defecte
product of defecte onderdelen vervangen,
zonder berekening van materiaalkosten, of
tegen gereduceerde kosten in geval van
een garantie op basis van afschrijving.
Afhankelijk van het land waarin aanspraak op
onze garantie wordt gemaakt, omvat deze niet
automatisch de vergoeding van de kosten van
verzending van defecte producten naar de
Auping fabriek of de Auping distributeur voor
onderzoek van de klacht of voor reparatie.
Hetzelfde geldt voor retourzending van ver-
vangende of gerepareerde producten. De
reparatie zelf is binnen de garantietermijn
gratis. Voorrijkosten worden in rekening
gebracht.
Een aanspraak op garantie kan alleen worden
gedaan onder overlegging van de originele
factuur. De garantie is alleen geldig voor de
oorspronkelijke koper. De aanmelding dient te
geschieden bij de Auping dealer bij wie het
product oorspronkelijk werd aangeschaft, ook
indien u inmiddels naar een ander land
verhuisd bent.
De garantie vervalt, indien het product op enig
moment gedemonteerd of gemonteerd wordt
door personen die daarvoor door Auping niet
als gekwalificeerd zijn aangemerkt, tenzij de
gebruiksaanwijzing ‘do-it-yourself’ montage
voorschriften bevat en deze nauwkeurig
worden opgevolgd. De Auping garantie geldt in
alle landen waar Auping vertegenwoordigd is.
Auping behoudt zich het recht voor, geen
garantie te verlenen op Auping producten die
naar landen worden gebracht waar Auping
geen vertegenwoordiging heeft.

1. Introduction
This user manual
contains important
information.
We therefore
suggest that you
keep it stored in a
safe place.
We congratulate you on having chosen an AVS
mesh base that fulfills all your personal
requirements. The mesh bases have varying
degrees of adjustability, according to type.
The mattresses vary in terms of the use of
materials and functions.
The AVS mesh base is equipped with
Comfortslides®at shoulder and hip levels.
These slides can be used to adapt the degree
of firmness of the mesh to that of your body.
The mesh base therefore offers optimum
support and comfort.
Thanks to their open structure, AVS mesh
bases offer maximum ventilation, resulting in a
fresh and hygienic sleeping environment.
All Auping mattresses can be used on non-
adjustable or adjustable AVS mesh bases. The
mattresses comprise comfort zones which
result in individual adaptation to the weight dis-
tribution of your body. The shoulder zone is
slightly softer, while the seat section in con-
trast contains extra reinforcement. This man-
ner of zoning provides additional comfort and
improved support, both when sitting and lying
on the mattress.
Thanks to the smooth fabric, the base of the
mattress glides smoothly over the back sec-
tion of the mesh base during adjustment.
Mattress connectors are used to attach the
mattress to the mesh base. This prevents
the mattress from sliding downward while
adjusting the bed, at the same time ensuring
that it effortlessly follows the movements of
the mesh base. The mattresses are asymmetri-
cally built using various materials, and there-
fore need not be turned over.

1.2 Personal settings
The Comfortslide®can be used to adjust the
mesh base to the shape of your body. People
with broad shoulders and/or hips, should move
the relevant slides outwards. Those with slim
shoulders and/or hips should slide them
inwards.

2. Safety instructions
■The AVS mesh base must only be fitted by
an Auping specialist.
■The AVS mesh base is only suitable for nor-
mal household use.
■Adjustable beds have moving parts. Make
sure that your limbs cannot become
trapped.
■Only adjust the bed while you are lying on it.
Make sure that no children are under the
bed while it is being adjusted.
■The AVS mesh base is not a toy. Do not
allow children to play with the bed.
■Do not use the bed as a trampoline or
stepladder.
■Use an AVS mesh base base in combina-
tion with an Auping mattress.
■The AVS mesh base is not intended for use
by persons with a psychological complaint
or mental deficiency or children, unless
they have been properly instructed how to
use it and are aware of the risks.
■Only place the bed in a dry room. It is not
permitted to place the bed in a damp room.
■Please do not sit on the head support or
foot end of the bed whilst raised.
■Release the controls immediately should
anything become trapped between the
moving parts. The motors do not stop
automatically and continue to operate.
■Do not smoke in bed, and keep burning
objects away from the bed.
■Do not heat the gas spring. The gas spring
is under high pressure.

3. Preparing for use
3.1 Components of your mesh base
- Auping AVS mesh base.
Your supplier will install your AVS mesh base
for you.
For other parts and detailed installation
instructions, we refer you to the installation
cards included with the various parts.
3.2 Position of the legs
It is vitally important that the feet be fitted
properly, to ensure the appropriate distribution
of weight. This means that the legs must be
placed at the distances from head and foot
end of the bed as indicated in the following
illustration (bed seen from above):
3.3 Fitting the mattress
Put your bed in the horizontal position.
Make sure that the five protruding clip-on pins
of the mattress connectors are pushed width-
ways into the mesh (see fig. 2).
‘Click’ the mattress connectors into the mesh at
the positions indicated (see fig. 2).
Make sure that the mattress connectors are
not directly above a cross bar.
Put the mattress on the mesh base and
centre it.

3.4 Preparing for use
Check that the mesh base can move freely.
Only adjust the mesh base while it is in a
horizontal position, securely fixed to the
supporting legs, or to the supports provided
within the bed surround.
Check that the mattress is attached to the
mesh base properly.
3.5 Tips for use
A new mattress has a certain amount of
rigidity, which will disappear within a few days.
Consequently, your mattress will not optimally
follow the contours of the mesh base when it
is initially adjusted. We therefore recommend
that you lie down on the mattress while
adjusting the positions for the first time.
4. Use
4.1 Manually adjustable sections
Raise back section
Pull the adjustment cord and lean forward with
the upper part of your body. The back section
will then move up automatically. Release the
cord when you reach the position you want.
Lower back section
Pull the adjustment cord and lean backwards.
The back section will go down. Release the
cord when you reach the position you want.
If necessary, you can adjust the power of the
gas spring yourself (see 4.3).
Foot end
The foot end has six adjustable positions.
Carefully pull on the handle until the desired
position is reached.
To put the foot end into a lower position you
must first pull it up as far as it will go and then
lower it again.
4.2 Setting the Comfortslides®
The mesh base can be adapted to the shape
of your body. The slides are incorporated in
the mesh base at both shoulder and hip level.
Remove the mattress from the mesh base.
The illustrations of the various positions of the
Comfortslides®are examples only. You can
of course set the slides to the position you
consider the most comfortable.
Lift the slides slightly, then slide them to the
desired positions.
Replace the mattress on the mesh base.

4.3 Adjusting the power of the gas spring
The power with which the back section of the
mesh base is raised and lowered is adjustable.
There are three settings:
1. light (top hole): if you select the ‘light’ setting,
the back section is easiest to push flat.
2. normal (middle hole): standard setting.
3. heavy (bottom hole): if you select ‘heavy’,
the back section comes up with extra force.
4.4 Adjusting the spring tension
1. Lift the back section half way up.
2. Unscrew the plastic notched nut (see fig. 3).
3. Attention: support the back section and
remove the connecting pin (pay attention to
the plastic bearing bush in the eyelet of the
gas spring).
4. Place the eyelet of the gas spring in the
required position. The top hole towards the
mesh results in the lightest adjustment.
5. Press the connecting pin through the lifting
arm and the eyelet of the gas spring (pay
attention to the plastic bearing bush in the
eyelet of the gas spring).
6. Tighten the plastic notched nut (see fig. 4).
4.5 Relocating operating side of
adjustment cord
The adjustment cord for your mesh base is on
the right, but it can easily be moved to the left.
1. Untie the knot A from the cord B and
remove the ball C (see fig. 5).
2. Remove the protective tube D from the
cord guide E and slide the tube off the cord
(see fig. 6).
3. Tie a knot in the end of the cord.
4. Pull on the cord at the other side of the
mesh base.
5. Untie the knot.
6. Pull the cord through the protective tube
(first through the eye, then through the
tube).
7. Hook and pull the protective tube over the
cord guide.
8. Push the cord through the smaller hole in
the ball.
9. Tie a knot in the end of the cord.
10.Pull the control ball over the knot.

5. Breakdowns
Undesirable noises (bed squeaks and
creaks)
Unwanted noises are usually caused by
moving parts touching each other.
The reason for this may be a missing part, or
parts that have not been tightened up properly
or have become loose when the bed was
moved.
Check that:
- the bed is properly horizontal;
- the bed is positioned away from the wall;
- there are no unwanted objects in the bed that
should not be there (spoons, forks, pens,
etc.).
Important!
A malfunctioning gas spring may cause the
back section to come up automatically without
remaining in a fixed position. Before consulting
your dealer, please make sure that the operating
cord and cord guide can move freely and are
not trapped between parts of the bed or mesh
base.
6. Cleaning and maintenance
Remove stains on the mesh base with a damp
cloth and gentle cleaning agent. Never use a
scouring sponge or scouring agents.
Dust the mesh base and leg frame
occasionally.
As part of Auping’s commitment to caring for
the environment all metal parts have a powder
lacquer coating instead of a wet-lacquered
surface. Some of this coating material can
drop off underneath the bed during the first
weeks of use. This is harmless and can easily
be removed.
