IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLG180
1. Do not use this electric lawnmower in the rain or mow grass that is wet.
2. Thiselectriclawnmowerisclassiedasamajorapplianceandthereforeshould
notbeoperatedonthesamecircuitasothermajorhouseholdappliances.
3. Keep extension cords clear of the path of the lawnmower. Not doing so could
cause damage to the cord as well as the tool.
4. Removethepowercordfromtheoutletbeforedoinganymaintenancesuchas
cleaningtheblades.
5. Beforemakinganyadjustmentstotheblade,ensurethatthetoolisunplugged
andthebladehascometoacompletestop.
6. Beforeusingthelawnmower,inspecttheareathatyouaregoingtobemowing
and remove all stones, sticks, wires, or anything else that could interfere with
the operation of the lawnmower.
7. Donotsettheheightformorethanisrequiredforthejobyouaredoing.Ifthe
rotationofthebladeslows,pullthelawnmowerbackslightlyandwaitforthe
bladetoreturntofullspeedbeforeproceeding.
8. Onlyuseextensioncordsthataremarked“W-A”or“W”meaningthattheyare
madeforoutdooruse.Followthetableunder#9intheIMPORTANTSAFETY
INSTRUCTIONSsectionwhenchoosingagaugeforthelengthofcordyou
need.
9. Donotremoveoraltertheguardsinanyway.Doingsocouldcauseinjurytothe
operatorand/orbystanders.
10. Duetothehighspeedrotationoftheblade,stones,andotherobjectscanbe
thrownindirectionsatahighspeed.Forthisreason,pleaseadheretothe
following:
-Always wear safety glasses, gloves, long pants, and proper footwear. NEVER
operatethistoolbarefootorwhilewearingopensandals.
-Makesurethatbystanders,children,andpetsareaminimumof5metresaway
during operation. If someone approaches, turn the tool off.
11. NEVERdoanythingtomanuallyslowthespeedofthebladeafterthemachine
isturnedoff.Letthebladecometorestnaturally.
12. Periodicallycheckthelockingknobs,bladebolt,andscrewstoensuretheyare
tight and the lawnmower is in a safe working condition.
13. Alwaysvisuallyinspecttheblade,bladebolts,andcutterassemblypriorto
use. If any of those pieces are worn or damaged, have them replaced. Always
replaceboltsinsetstopreservebalance.
14. Use this lawnmower only in daylight.
15. Whenmowingonslopes,ensureproperfooting.Mowacrossthefaceofthe
slope, never up or down. Use caution when changing direction on a slope.
Never mow excessively steep slopes.

16. DISCONNNECT THE PLUG FROM POWER BEFORE MAKING ANY

any tool when you are tired.
18. CHECK FOR DAMAGED PARTS. Before using this tool, any part that is
damagedshouldbecarefullycheckedtodeterminethatitwilloperateproperly
andperformitsintendedfunction.Checkforalignmentofmovingparts,binding
ofmovingparts,breakageofparts,mountings,andotherconditionsthatmay
affect its operation. Inspect screws and tighten any that are loose. Any
partthatisdamagedshouldbeproperlyrepairedorreplacedbyanauthorized
service center unless otherwise indicated elsewhere in the instruction manual.
Havedefectiveswitchesreplacedbyanauthorizedservicecenter.Donotuse
the tool if switch does not turn it on and off properly.
19. REPLACEMENT PARTS.Whenservicing,useonlyidenticalreplacementparts.
20. SERVICE AND REPAIRSshouldbemadebyqualiedrepairtechniciansatan
authorizedrepaircentre.Improperlyrepairedtoolscouldcauseseriousshockor
injury.
