will insure proper brake adiustnent for operation' Tf brake rod (J) is too
short to drop on clutch am et<bension (u) yo,"r must lengthen it. To lengthen
brake roil, screw it counter clockwlse, If brake rod (J) is to longJto drop on
clutch ann extension (H), you nust shorten it. To shorten brake rod' screw
it clockwise. llhen brake rod is ailiusted anal assenbled properly, secure with
hair cotter pin. (G)
Note: Check brake 1-unction before starting machine. Move ?To fever (A) to
tbe on position, Beft brake (tt) nust not touch V-belt. Caution: If beft
brak;(ii) touches V-be1t when PTo lever is in 94 position, do not operate'
Re-adiust belt brake until brake clears beft by 1/B inch, when lTO lever is
in on position. If this is not done, the V-belt (D) will be alarnaged bv the

To Renove
Move FTo lever (A) (Iie. 4) to the off
position. Remove hair cotter pin (:-)-
from clutch arm (c), slide clutch ann
out until V-belt (D) sliales betlreen
clutch arn (c) and engine pu1ley (n)
lift V-belt brake (D) and pult v-belt
off pul1ey (w), nemove hair cotter pin
(T) fiom brake rod anclor (U), Move
brake roil aside and belt is free.
Slide new V-belt (D) uider V-belt brake
(K) and loop around driven pulley. (W)
Replace brake rod anchor (U) and secure
with hair cotter pin (T). sfide v-belt
througb notch in housing, Push V-belt
between idler arm (C) a.nd engine pulley.
