Aenon! Please, follow the savety instrucons!
• Keep out of reach of children!
• Make sure that the power outlet you plug the ash is working correctly.
• Do not disassemble or modify! There are high-voltage components inside the unit. Repairs should only be
performed by authorised service personnel!
• Do not touch the lamp cap when the ash or modeling lamp is working due to risk of burns or elecc shock!
• Disconnect the ash from the power supply when mounng accessories on or o or when you’re cleaning
the ash unit.
• Durint operaon, some of the light control accessories may be heated to high tempetures! Wait to cool
down before you mount them o.
• During operaon, do not cover the ash! Make sure that the ash unit will not be acvated in the vicinity
of inammable gases or liquids. Risk of explosions!
• Do not expose the ash unit to water drops and splashes!
• In every 30 connuous ashes at full power, leave the ash to cool down for about 3 minutes. Overheang
will occur if it is used connuously without cooling down.
• Do not ash directly into eyes from a close distance! Direct ashing into the eyes of person or animals can
cause damage to the rena and severe disrupon of the vision – up to and including permanent blindness!
• If the housing has been damaged in such a way that internal components are exposed, the ash unit may no
longer be used. Disconnect from the power supply! Do not touch any internal components. HIGH VOLTAGE!

Mounng the ash and preparing to work
Mount the ash unit onto an appropriate light stand and x it. Adjust the horizontal angle and
secure the handle.
To take down the protecve cap or mounted accessory, hold down the mount release buon (pic.
1), turn the accessory counterclockwise and pull it forward. To mount an accessory, proceed the opposite
way as matching the feathers of the bayonet with the corresponding holes of the ashe body. Please noce,
that to installe the modeling lamp, rst you need to unmount the glass cover dome.
To work with photographic umbrella use the standard 18 cm reector included in the kit and place
it with the umbrella ouit matching the ash umbrella holder (pic. 3). The umbrella is xed by the corre-
sponding screw in the ash body and you need to apply moderate eort to ghten it.
Make sure that the power switch 9. (check page 2) is in “0” posion and place the power cable in
the AC power socket 13. Plug in the power cable and turn on the ash by placing the power switch in posion
“I”. Make a test ash as pressing the “Test” buon 6.

Flash Control
Craline GS studio ash has power range from 1/1 to 1/32 (6 EV), which can be adjusted
through the ash output controller 3. in 30 steps and it’s shown on the digital display 2.
(check pic. 2)
with numbers from 8.0 to 5.0. If you reduce the power output with one more increment under 5.0, the
digial display will show “OF” symbol and the ash will stay turn on, but it won’t be able to re a ash.
When reducing the ash output, the Auto Dump funcon will turn on and it will discharge the capacitors
to the set lower power. Depending on the size of the adjustment this proces will take between 2 and 45
sec. When reducing the power output with more than 1 EV is recommended to discharge the capacitors
manually in order not to wait the whole process.
Craline GS studio ash has fully manual control of the modeling light. To turn on or o the
modeling lamp, press the buon 8. You can steplessly control it trough to the modeling light output
controller 4. When the ash is on and idle for more than two hours , the modeling lamp will automacally
turn o. Restart the ash to turn it back on.
Overload and overheat protecon
During connious work with the ash (large number of ashes for a short term), an overheang
may occur. To protect the ash, don’t make more than 20 ashes in a row with higher power output (7.0 -
8.0). Aer every 20 conguous ashes leave the ash to cool down for at least 3 min.
When working with light control accessories such as spots, which are prevenng the cooling, you
have to limit the modeling light use and the ash shouldn’t be used too intense.
If the ash is used carelessly about its temperature this may cause failure, in which case Dynaphos
Ltd. reserves the right to refuse warranty repair.

Sync triggering
Plug the sync cable or connect the ash trigger receiver in the usb port jack 11 (check page 2)
Connect the sunchro cable or the receiver with the camera and set the camera on the max. shuer speed.
(check the camera manual instrucons) When pressing the camera shuer release, simultaneously the
ash will re an impulse.
If you use more than one ash, the others will be acveted through their photo cells. Use the
buon 5. to turn on or o the photo cell, as well as to set a mode for triggering with 1st or 2nd ash. (the
last one is used when acvang through manual ash with Pre Flash funcon). When the buon 5. indica-
tor ashes blue, 1st ash trigger mode is set on, when it ashes red the 2nd ash mode is set on. When the
photo cell is turn o, the indicator won’t ash. In some cases it is possible the intense of the master ash to
be insucient to trigger the rest of the ashes through their photo cells. In this case use addional receiv-
ers for each ash.
You can also trigger the ash by the “Test” buon 6.
Slave mode
Through the oponal FT-16 wireless power control and trigger, you can remotely trigger and con-
trol o the ash power, pilot light and the photo cell of 16 separate ashes (groups) Expert QS. For this
purpose you will need a FT-16 power control and trigger kit (product № 010288) The device is specially
designed for work with studio ashes Expert QS, Speedster QT, Craline GS, Starter DE, Witstro and XEner-
gizer.
To trigger and power control a ash with FT-16:
- open the baery compartment of the sender and place 2 alkaline baeries 1.5V AA as following the right
polarity.

- mount the sender in the camera HotShoe connector with the control
panel towards to you and ghten the nut 6.
- choose a working channel via the selector 9. and turn on the sender
from the power switch 2.
- place the receiver in the USB sync port 10. of the ash (check page 2)
and set on the same channel as the sender (check the further picture).
From the selector 9. choose a working group. For work with more than
one ash, you’ll have to place a corresponding number of addional
receivers FTR-16 (product № 010289) for each ash and set them on
the same channel as the sender. Preferably, the receiver of each ash
has to be set on a dierent group in order each ash to be control
separately.
- choose a working group (a ash) from the selector of the sender; to
change the power output of the ash use the “-/+” buon 5; through
the “Lamp” buon 10. you can turn on or o the modeling light;
through the “Buzz” buon 3. you can turn on or o the sound signal;
through the “Test” buon 12. you trigger the ash or make a test ash.
- Please noce, that the “Set” buon
3. is working only with WITSTRO
series.
- when pressing a buon the indicator 11. must ash, if this don’t hap-
pen place a new baeries and try again.
- aer nnishing work turn o the receiver from the power switch 2.
- keep the antenna 7. save from mechanical damage
