Precautions and Care for Use
Please be aware of the following to avoid potential hazards or damage to the camera arising from misuse or
handling.
1. Only use the USB Charger supplied to charge the camera from a mains source.
2. A USB – USB computer cable may be used to charge the camera.
3. If charging from a vehicle 12 Vdc supply, only the supplied USB Charger is be used to charge the camera.
4. The GPS receiver relies on a line-of-sight connection and reception can be affected by several factors.
Some are;
•Inside buildings and in close proximity to high-sided buildings.
•Underground areas; i.e. Car parks and Underground train stations.
•Electrical storms, high cloud density and severe rain or snow.
5. When used in extremely cold environments (≤0°C), the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) may exhibit some
colour abnormality. This is not a fault and the LCD display will return to normal in ambient temperatures
(≥15°C)
6. Take care not to damage the LCD display or the camera lens.

Charging the Camera Battery
Each camera is fitted with a non-removable Lithium Polymer Battery (2250 mAh).
WARNING - The battery is not user serviceable and no attempt should be made by the user
(or unauthorised third party) to replace it.
When the camera leaves the factory, the battery will have only a testing charge. It is recommended to charge the
camera for 12 hours to ensure the battery is at full capacity prior to first use.
To charge the battery, proceed as follows;
1. Access the battery charging connection by lifting the captive rubber protection flap.
2. Behind the flap there is a USB connection (see page 3).
3. Connect the USB Charger to the connection.
4. Connect the charger to the mains and switch on.
If you are connecting the camera to a computer or vehicle charger, follow steps 1 - 3 above and for step 4 connect
the USB lead to the power source you are using.
Protection of Information
As the camera may be used in evidence gathering operations, there is a risk that the camera and its contents may
be compromised. To protect against accidental or malicious tampering of the camera contents, a security
passcode has been installed onto the camera.
The password is factory set at
000000
and should be changed at the earliest opportunity.
PLEASE NOTE:
Body Worn Video Password Management.
If a change of password is created using ‘CamManager’ it must be securely stored in a safe location.
If this user generated password is subsequently misplaced, Foxton have no method of retrieving the lost password from the
camera or any other database.
This is part of the strict security control of the data contained on the device.

Operating the Camera
POWER ON
From the ‘OFF’ state, there are 2 ways to switch the camera on.
1. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
2. Operate the one-touch-record button by pressing for 3 seconds, the camera will turn on and begin video
recording immediately.
When switched on using the power button, the camera will activate in the ‘Video Preview’ state.
POWER OFF
From the ‘ON’ state, to switch the camera off.
1. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
VIDEO RECORDING
If the camera is switched on by pressing the ‘One-Touch-Record’ button, it will record the moment it turns on. If the
camera is switched on by pressing the power button, the camera will enter the Video Preview state and the LCD
display will show the image that the camera ‘sees’.
From this state, press the ‘One-Touch-Record’ button to begin recording, pressing it again will stop recording.
A red LED will be visible on the front and on the side of the camera during recording.
During recording, the camera icon on the LCD display will turn red.
FILE MARKER BUTTON
Pressing this button for 2 seconds will place a marker symbol on the recorded video file.
NIGHT VISION RECORDING
In poor light or dark conditions, the Infra-Red LED’s may be used to illuminate the immediate vicinity.
The Infra-Red LED’s have a range of approximately 5 - 8 metres.
To switch on the Infra-Red LED, press the IR selector button.
The camera will work in both video and photograph mode with this function.
With IR in use, the IR icon on the LCD display will turn green.
STILL PHOTOGRAPHS
To take still photographs, switch the camera on to the Video Preview state press the snapshot button.
SOUND RECORDING
To record audio, switch the camera on to the Video Preview state and press the audio recording button
(see page 3) to commence recording. The LCD Display will ‘Blue-Out’ during recording, this is normal.

PLAYBACK OF VIDEO AND AUDIO OR VIEWING PHOTOGRAPHS
1. Press the playback button to view the available files.
2. By using the joystick, navigate the files and press the joystick when central to confirm selection.
3. Video and audio files will play with a subsequent press of the joystick.
During playback of video files, the following facilities are available;
1. Pressing the joystick centrally during playback will cancel playback.
2. Pressing the joystick up during playback will pause the video file in current playback position.
3. Pressing the joystick centrally while playback is paused will restore playback at x1 (normal) speed.
4. Pressing the joystick down during playback will change the direction of playback (forward or reverse)
at x1 speed.
5. During playback, pressing the joystick Right will advance a video in increments of 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and
64 x speed.
6. During playback, pressing the joystick Left will slow down a video in increments of 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32
and 1/64 x speed.
Still photographs, video and audio files can be viewed / played via a HDMI capable TV. To use a HDMI TV,
proceed as follows;
1. Set your TV to ‘HDMI Mode’
2. Connect the HDMI lead to the camera and then to the TV.
3. The LCD display of the camera will switch off and the TV will replace this function.
4. Navigate as you would using the camera LCD display.
To return to the Point Preview state, press the playback button again.

Configuration Menu
To access the Configuration Menu switch the camera on to the Point Preview and either;
1. Press the Menu button to enter the Configuration Menu.
2. To view a menu option, use the joystick Up and Down to highlight an option.
3. Move the joystick Left and Right to cycle through options for that choice, the options will be displayed in the
lowest panel of the menu screen.
4. When the option is correct, press the joystick to confirm the option.
The following table gives the options available for each Configuration Menu selection;

File Management
CONNECTING TO A PERSONAL COMPUTER
The camera can be connected to a personal computer and files extracted for storage and/or playback.
To connect the camera, proceed as follows;
The following can be done with the camera switched on or off.
1. Connect the camera to the personal computer using the Micro USB - USB cable.
2. Once connected a dialogue menu will appear on the camera screen, select ‘Connect USB’
3. Enter the passcode for the camera.
4. Access the camera’s memory on your personal computer and manage the contents.
GPS Receiver (optional)
The GPS Receiver allows latitude and longitude information to be added to a video or still photograph.
This information can then be incorporated with software to show the exact geographical location of the camera
when video or photographs were captured.
Once the camera is switched on, it may take up to 5 minutes for the GPS receiver to establish a connection and for
GPS location information to be available.
Once a GPS connection is established, the satellite icon in the top corner of the LCD display will turn green.

Radio Connection
The camera has a built in microphone and can be used in lieu of a radio handset to minimise personal loading of
equipment. Connect radio handset as follows;
1. Plug the radio connector cable (optional) into the camera.
2. Connect the radio to the other end of the cable.
3. The camera now replaces the radio handset function.
4. To retain privacy, it is recommended to use a compatible earpiece.
