Safe operating practices forelectrically poweredlawnmowers
Training
a)Readtheinstructionscarefully. Be familiarwith the controlsand the correctuseofthe machine.
b)Neverallow childrenorpeople unfamiliarwith theseinstructionsto use the machine. Local
regulationscan restrictthe age ofthe operator.
c) Neveroperate the machine while people, especiallychildren, orpetsarenearby.
d)Keep in mind that the operatororuserisresponsible foraccidentsorhazardsoccurring toother
peopleortheirproperty.
Preparation
a)While operating the machine alwayswearsubstantialfootwearand longtrousers. Do not operate
the machine when barefootorwearing open sandals.Avoid wearingclothing that isloose fitting or
that hashanging cordsorties.
b)Thoroughlyinspectthe area where the machine isto be used and removeallobjectswhich canbe
thrownbythe machine.
c) Before using, alwaysvisuallyinspect to see that theblade, blade bolt and the blade assemblyare
not worn ordamaged. Replacewornordamaged componentsin setsto preservebalance. Replace
damaged orunreadable labels.
d)Before use checkthe supplyand extension cord forsignsofdamage oraging. Ifthe cord becomes
damaged during use, disconnect the cord fromthe supplyimmediately.DONOTTOUCH THECORD
BEFOREDISCONNECTINGTHESUPPLY. Do not use themachine ifthe cord isdamaged orworn.
Operation
a)Operatethemachine onlyin daylight oringood artificiallight.
b)Avoid operating the machine inwetgrass.
c) Alwaysbesure of yourfooting on slopes.
d)Walk, neverrun.
e)Mowacross the face ofslopes, neverup and down.
f)Exercise extreme caution whenchanging direction on slopes.
g)Do not mowexcessivelysteep slopes.
h)Use extreme caution when reversing orpulling themachine towardsyou.
i)Stop the blade(s) ifthe machine hasto be tilted fortransportationwhen crossingsurfacesotherthan
grass, and whentransporting the machine toand fromthe area to beused.
j)Neveroperatethemachine with defective guardsorshields, orwithout safetydevices, forexample
deflectors and/orgrass collector, inplace.
k) Switchon the motorcarefullyaccording to instructionsand with feet wellawayfromthe blade(s).
l)Do not tiltthemachine when switching on the motor, except ifthe machine hasto be tiltedfor
starting.In thiscase, do nottilt itmore than absolutelynecessaryand lift onlythe part, whichisaway
fromthe operator.
m)Do not start the machinewhen standing in front of the discharge opening.
n)Do not put handsorfeet nearorunderrotatingparts. Keep clearofthedischarge opening at all
times.
o)Do not transport the machinewhile the powersource isrunning.
p)Stop the machine, and remove plug fromthe socket. Make sure that all movingpartshave come to
a complete stop.

− before checking, cleaning orworking onthemachine,
− afterstriking a foreign object. Inspectthe machine fordamage and make repairs before
restartingand operating themachine;

− replace orrepairanydamagedparts,
− checkforand tighten anylooseparts.
Maintenance and storage
a)Keep allnuts,boltsandscrewstight to besure themachine isin safeworking condition.
b)Checkthe grass collectorfrequentlyforwearordeterioration.
c) Onmachineswith multiblade, take care asrotating one blade can causeotherbladesto rotate
d)Be carefulduring adjustment ofthe machine to prevent entrapment ofthe fingers between moving
bladesand fixed partsofthe machine.
e)Alwaysallowthe machine to cooldownbefore storing
f)When servicing the bladesbe aware that, even though the powersourceisswitched off, the blades
can stillbe moved.
g)Replaceworn ordamaged partsforsafety.Use onlygenuinereplacement partsand accessories.
h) Onlyuse the replacement blade, blade bolt and impeller specifiedfor thisproduct.
i) Oil the wheelpins.
j) Storethe lawnmower inadryplace.
Recommendation forclass II machine
The machine shouldbe suppliedviaa residualcurrentdevice (RCD)with a tripping current ofnot
more than 30 mA.

wires, bones,and other foreignobjects.
Beforeusing, alwaysvisuallyinspect toseethatthe rotatingpartsandcutter assemblyare
not wornordamaged.Replace wornor damagedpartsinsetstopreservebalance.
Operatethe applianceonlyindaylight or ingoodartificiallight.Avoidoperating theappliance
inwet grass,wherefeasible. Alwaysbe sureof yourfootingonslopes.Alwaysworkacross
the face ofslopes,never up anddown.
Exercise extremecautionwhen reversing orpulling theappliance towardstoyou.
Donot operatethe appliance on excessivelysteep slopes.
Use extremecaution when reversingor pulling appliance towards you.
Stop therotating partsifappliance has tobetiltedfortransportation.Donot operatethe
cuttingmeanswhen crossingsurfaces otherthan grass,and when transportingthe

Switch on the motor according toinstructionsandwithfeetwell awayfromrotating parts.
Donottilt appliance when switchingonthemotor, expect if theappliance has tobe tilted for
starting.Inthiscase,do nottilt it morethan absolutelynecessaryand lift onlythe part, which
isawayfromthe operator.Alwaysensurethatbothhands areintheoperatingposition
beforereturningthe appliance totheground.Donot put handsor feetnearorunderrotating
parts.
Never pick up or carryanappliance whilethe motorisrunning.

The tineswillcontinue torotate fora short whileafterthe rake hasbeen switched off. Do not
pickup orcarrythe rake until the tineshasstopped rotating

V-AssemblyInstructions
Preparation:
1)Insert thehandlesinto the mowerbody, make sure the handle’shole aimat mower
body’shole, and fixwith suppliedscrews.(fig.1a)

2)Connect upperand lowerhandleswith suppliedscrewsand knobs.(fig.1b)

3)Put cablehookand fixthe cablewith cable holders(fig.1c)

4)Fit each wheelsoverthe axles, put one washerfirstly,then secureinplacewith the
“R”pinsand press thewheelcovers into place.(fig.1d)

5)Grass collection boxassembly. Firstly,assemble two halvesand fixthemtogether,
then assemble the uppercover.(fig.1e&1f)

CUTTINGHEIGHTADJUSTMENT
To obtainthedesired cutting height, the front and rearaxlesare repositioned on the underside ofthe
mowerhousing.
Warning! Disconnect the mowerfromthe powersupplyand ensure the blade hasstopped
coastingbefore adjustingthe height.
1. To adjust the wheelcutting height position(fig. 2a)
1)Turn the mowerupside down.
2)Pullthe wheelaxle towardsthe front ofthe mower.
3)Locate the wheelaxleinto the desired cutting height adjustment position.

Note: Make sure that bothright and leftwheelsare located inthe same cutting height adjustment
position.

VI-Operating
Connectto powersupply
Warning! Before connecting to the mainssupply,alwayscheckthe switchisinoff position. Connect
the plug into the RCD protected powersupply.
Starting
On/Off switch(fig.3)
Caution!Do not startthe mowerifitisstanding in longgrass. Press the safetybutton (A)ofthe switch
assemblyand thenpull the switch lever(B)against thebar.Keep the switchleverheldwhilst
releasing the safetybutton. To stop the mowerreleasethe switch leverand itautomaticallyreturnsto
itsoff position.
Mowing (fig.4)
Werecommend touseyour mower as outlined inthissectioninorder toachieveoptimumresults
and toreduce the riskofcutting the mains cable.
lPlace the bulkofthe mainscableon the closetothe starting point.
lSwitch the mower on as described above.

lRepeat the aboveprocedures as required.

Warning! Donot worktowards the cable.
Blademaintenance(fig.5)
lRegularlyremovegrass and dirt fromtheblade.
lAt the beginningofthe gardening season, carefullyexamine the conditionofthe blade.
lIfthe blade isveryblunt, sharpenor replace the blade.
lIfthe blade isdamaged orworn, fit anew blade.
Warning! Observethe following precautions:
lDisconnect the mower fromthe mains and wait until the bladehas stoppedrotating before
proceeding.
lBecarefulnot tocut yourself. Use heavy-dutygloves or aclothtogripthe blade.
lOnlyuse the specified replacement blade.
lDonot removethe impeller (A)for anyreason.
To replace theblade:
lTurnthe mower ontoitsside.
lGripthe blade(C) withonehand.
lUse the spanner suppliedtoloosen andremovethe blade nut (B).
lReplace the blade
lSecurelytightenthe bladenut.
