GENERAL SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION
INSTRUCTIONS
With variatio s i machi es, some of these stateme ts may be co tradictory as
regards the servici g. I these cases it is advisable to follow the sta dard guideli es!
Basic rules:
Before anyone starts up the wood chipper study the safety rules for commerce
and operation!
1. Pay atte tio to the refere ces i this operatio s guide as they are ge eral
legal safety a d accide t preve tio i structio s.
2. The mi imum age for service perso el is 18 years, but for the purpose of
trai i g, u der supervisio , 16 years.
3. Regardi g the use of public tra sport routes heed the respective decisio s of
the StVO. (lights, war i gs etc.)
4. E sure whilst usi g public tra sport routes the ejector does ot damage the
views a d that it is ot projected i to the roads!
5. Before comme ci g work check that everythi g is i good worki g order.
Ascertai that all safety equipme t is also i order. It is too late whe the
machi e is worki g!
6. The user is respo sible for the welfare of others!
7. Stay away from the da gerous area of the machi es!
8. Before starti g a machi e leave a y da gerous areas!
9. Machi es are ot to be operated i e closed areas!
10. Employees clothi g should be tight. Avoid loose clothi g. Wear safe shoes,
protective eye, ear a d head gear!
11. Whe leavi g the machi es e sure that they are u able to roll away a d are
protected from u authorised usage. (firm brakes activated, u der-wedge i
place, power source switched off, ig itio key removed.)
The Wood chipper as cultivation tool / supplement.

wood chipper is coupled with the motor of a other machi e a d whe the
safety i structio s are followed.
3. Before the co structio a d disma tli g of the wood reducer by the three
steps outli ed i the service i structio s, bri g the propulsio machi e i to
place, a d e sure that it is switched off before a y raisi g or loweri g of the
machi e is carried out!
4. Do ot stay betwee the PTO a d the tractor whe the machi e is ru i g!
5. No o e is allowed to halt the propulsio machi e, the tractio e gi e or
equipme t, u less it is to stop the vehicle rolli g away due to the parki g brake
a d/or the u der-wedge bei g ot properly i place.
6. O ly put the pieces of the machi e where they belo g!
7. It is the fu ctio of the workers to co trol the breaki g systems.
8. Pay atte tio to the maximum permissible support load of the adhere t clutch!
9. Take care with the differe ce betwee the marki gs of the hydraulic fu ctio s
of the propulsio machi e a d the wood chipper, because if these are ot
correctly placed, failures i the service of the machi es will be exposed.( e.g.
forwards/backwards, raise/lower) – da ger of accide ts!

10. O tra sport routes take precautio ary safety measures to e sure that
revolvi g pieces of equipme t do ot da gerously alter the area!
11. E sure that co structio equipme t/perso el are sta di g i a safe place!
Additional weights
1. I the co structio of the Wood chipper, back a d fro t propulsio is always
sufficie t for the load at the fro t a d back respectively. Respect the rear axis
– the ability to steer must remai – heed the i formatio i the ma ufacture’s
i structio s!
2. Relieve the fro t/back respectively. Pay atte tio to the rear axis whe
additio al weight is added to the rear of the propulsio machi e. O ly carry
what the brakes will allow!
3. Weights must always adhere to the prescribed fixed moderate regulatio s!
4. Take care whe choosi g the fro t or back of the machi e for additio al
weights, that the permissible load o the axis does ot exceed the total weight
allowed!
5. E sure that the tyre pressure is sufficie t for the load carried!
The wood chipper with propulsion (internal combustion engine)
1. Whe starti g up the machi e with the starti g butto , depress o ly for the
specified amou t of time otherwise the coil will overheat. The leave the
starti g butto to cool dow !
2. Cautio is dema ded whe i the vici ity of fuel as there is a i creased risk
of fire. Never reple ish fuel whe ear u guarded flames, ig itio sparks or
hot pieces of metal. Whe refulli g do ot smoke!
3. Prior to refulli g stop a d remove ig itio keys. Do ot refuel i e closed
spaces. Do ot spill fuel (make use of a y help)!
4. Do ot put the motor o high rotatio speeds!
5. To avoid fire hazards, keep the machi es clea !
Starting instructions
1. Starti g fluid is u suitable i the electrical set-up!
2. The starti g fluid is both flammable a d explosive!
3. Throw away used, empty pressure ca s to avoid them bei g carried by gusts
of air i to sparks a d flames.
4. Take ote whe activati g the starti g cables – first the positive pole a d the
the egative! Whe disco ecti g, reverse the seque ce.
P.T.O. Shaft
1. O ly apply authorised Carda shafts!
2. Co structio a d disma tli g of the Carda shafts o ly to be do e whe the
motor of the propulsio e gi e is fully stopped.
3. Pay atte tio to the correct fitti g a d security of the Carda shaft!
4. Safety preparatio s for the Carda shaft a d the PTO must be u iformly
started a d must be fou d i good co ditio !
5. Protect the Carda shaft by securi g the chai s to protect agai st the machi e
rolli g away!
6. Take ote regardi g the Carda shaft that it is required that the reeds are
covered duri g tra sport a d whilst i the worki g positio !
