
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS for the L.L. Bean Hearthside Log Rack – Large
Model LR1alb
Enclosed you will find everything needed
for the assembly of your log rack. Two
people make assembly easier. The parts
and hardware included are:
Hardware included:
4 – 3/8” x 5/8” Button head screws
4 – 3/8” x ½” Button head screws
1 – 7/32” Allen wrench
4 – Hard Glides
Components included:
2 – Upright Body Pieces
2 – Legs
1 – Fatwood/Kindling Holder Bar
2 – Fatwood/Kindling Holders
Rack Assembly:
1) Slip the four hard glides over the end of the two legs.
2) Align the two upright body pieces so the uprights with two holes for the fatwood/kindling holder
bar are at the same end.
3) Place the two upright body pieceson top and perpendicular to the legs. Using the enclosed Allen
wrench and the four 3/8” x 5/8” button head screws, attach the uprights onto the legs. The screws
are inserted from the top down toward the floor. Tighten the screws only finger tight.
4) Attach the fatwood/kindling holder bar to the upright body pieces using two of the 3/8” x ½”
button head screws and the Allen wrench.
5) Attach the two fatwood/kindling holders to the fatwood/kindling holder bar using the other two
3/8” x ½” button head screws and the Allen wrench.
6) Square up your new log rack and tighten all the screws firmly.
It is important that your rack is assembled correctly. If the unit is assembled or
used incorrectly, it could become unstable and collapse, possibly causing injury
