PUFP-CT-PB SERIES INSTALLATION GUIDE
It is highly recommended that in addition to reading the below installation instructions,

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION:
1. To ensure compliance with local electric codes, please contact your local
electrical inspector prior to installation
2. Do not install PUFP-CT prior to electrical inspector authorization.
3. Installation should only be done by a licensed and bonded electrical contractor.
4. All power must be turned off at its source prior to installation. Failure to do so
may result in injury or death.
5. All non GFI PUFP-CT series must be connected to a GFCI circuit breaker. Failure
to do so will increase the risk of injury.
6. If at any time water enters into the PUFP-CT, turn off power at its source and have
the unit replaced by a licensed and bonded electrical contractor.
7. Always use 12 or 14 gauge STRANDED wire when possible.
8. LEW ELECTRIC ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY IF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS
ARE NOT MET.
REQUIRED TOOLS:
Crimpling Pliers/ Wire Strippers, Philips Head Screw Driver, and Drill.
INSTALLATION
1. Prior to installation, a professional granite cutter should cut a 4 1/8” x 4 1/8” hole
in the desired location of the PUFP-CT. ** NOTE: When choosing a location, there
must be a minimum of 1 inch of unobstructed clearance around each side of
the hole inside the cabinet to allow the locking ring to screw onto the box.
2. Always use the supplied PUFP-PB plastic box. Unscrew the locking nut from the
bottom of the box and set aside.
3. Wiring must be completed before PUFP-PB is installed in countertop. Place
PUFP-PB box on top of countertop. Inside the cabinet, place the lock nut through the
wire. Run wiring into the ½” knock out on the side of the box furthest away from
the front of the countertop (preferred method). Alternately, if ¾” knockouts are
needed, use the knockouts in the bottom of the box furthest away from the front of
the counter. If the knockouts are used closest to the front of the counter, the
unit will not open.
4. Strip the wires.
5. Insert the stripped wire into the quick connect terminal box making sure that no
striped wire is exposed.

6. Tighten the screws to secure the wires to the terminal block, part number PUFP-
TN.
7. Excess wire should be pushed out of the box or made to be as flat as possible on
the bottom of the PUFP-PB box. Failure to push the wire out of the box or make
it flat in the box will interfere with the opening mechanism and the unit will
not be able to pop open.
8. Remove the protective film from the PUFP-CT cover and press the oval button on
the PUFP-CT cover exposing the two mounting screw holes inside the cover.
9. Place the PUFP-CT cover on top of the PUFP-PB box. Line up the two screw holes
with the PUFP-CT cover and the PUFP-PB box and using the 2 provided screws,
secure the cover to the box (do not over tighten as this may strip the threads in the
box and interfere with the opening mechanism of the box.)
9. Place the box with cover assembled into the hole in the top of the countertop.
10. Place the locking ring onto the bottom of the PUFP-PB box and screw the locking
ring up until the flanged portion is butted tight against the underside of the counter
top. The box is fully secured to the countertop when there is no movement of the
box within the hole.
11. Open and close the unit several times to make sure that the unit is opening
properly. All units are preset to the optimal functioning speed at the factory before
they are shipped.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.To open cover and expose receptacle, press and hold the oval button until the lid
has reached maximum height.
2. To close the cover, press and hold the oval button while pressing down on the
cover until you hear a click, then the unit is locked into place.
