WARNING: PHOTOSENSITIVITY/EPILEPSY/SEIZURES
A very small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures or blackouts when exposed
to certain light patterns or flashing lights. Exposure to certain patterns or backgrounds on a television
screen or when playing video games may trigger epileptic seizures or blackouts in these individuals.
These conditions may trigger previously undetected epileptic symptoms or seizures in persons who
have no history of prior seizures or epilepsy. If you, or anyone in your family, has an epileptic
condition or has had seizures of any kind, consult your physician before playing. IMMEDIATELY
DISCONTINUE use and consult your physician before resuming gameplay if you or your child
experience any of the following health problems or symptoms:
• dizziness • eye or muscle twitches • disorientation • any involuntary movement
• altered vision • loss of awareness • seizures or convulsion.
RESUME GAMEPLAY ONLY ON APPROVAL OF YOUR PHYSICIAN.
______________________________________________________________________________
Use and handling of video games to reduce the likelihood of a seizure
• Use in a well-lit area and keep as far away as possible from the television screen.
• Avoid large screen televisions. Use the smallest television screen available.
• Avoid prolonged use of the PlayStation®3 system. Take a 15-minute break during each hour of play.
• Avoid playing when you are tired or need sleep.
______________________________________________________________________________
Stop using the system immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms: lightheadedness,
nausea, or a sensation similar to motion sickness; discomfort or pain in the eyes, ears, hands, arms,
or any other part of the body. If the condition persists, consult a doctor.
NOTICE:
Use caution when using the DUALSHOCK®3 wireless controller and the PlayStation®Move motion controller
motion sensor function. When using the DUALSHOCK®3 wireless controller or the PlayStation®Move
motion controller motion sensor function, be cautious of the following points. If the controller hits a
person or object, this may cause accidental injury or damage. Before using, check that there is plenty
of space around you. When using the controller, grip it firmly to make sure it cannot slip out of your
hand. If using a controller that is connected to the PS3™ system with a USB cable, make sure there
is enough space for the cable so that the cable will not hit a person or object. Also, take care to avoid
pulling the cable out of the PS3™ system while using the controller.
WARNING TO OWNERS OF PROJECTION TELEVISIONS:
Do not connect your PS3™ system to a projection TV without first consulting the user manual for your
projection TV, unless it is of the LCD type. Otherwise, it may permanently damage your TV screen.
HANDLING YOUR PS3™ FORMAT DISC:
• Do not bend it, crush it or submerge it in liquids. • Do not leave it in direct sunlight or near a radiator
or other source of heat. • Be sure to take an occasional rest break during extended play. • Keep this
disc clean. Always hold the disc by the edges and keep it in its protective case when not in use. Clean
the disc with a lint-free, soft, dry cloth, wiping in straight lines from center to outer edge. Never use
solvents or abrasive cleaners.

HealTH and safeTy precauTions
All material and data contained in the game is solely indicative. The utmost care has
been taken to maintain accuracy and precision in content; however this should not be
considered the same as medical advice or information, or the same as a visit to your
doctor or nutritionist. Since the game has not covered all topics relating to health and
well-being, the information contained, although it may cover varied cases, may not be
applicable to specic individual cases. Therefore, actions should not be undertaken, or
avoided, solely on the basis of information contained in the game. Do not change your
diet based on the information given in the game, especially if you are under 16 years
old or have any kind of intolerance, food allergy or hypersensitivity. Instead, you should
always rely on the advice of expert medical staff and consult a doctor with any question
relating to health or well-being. Physical exercise can cause muscle pains or other
problems, so it is always advisable to start with warm-up exercises, and to take regular
breaks. Take care not to over-exert or strain your muscles after a period of inactivity.
The Get Fit With Mel B workouts include warm-ups and cool downs, which are good for
avoiding injuries and cramps, strengthening muscles and increasing exibility before
taking on a more challenging workout. As an initial feeling of discomfort is predicted,
a cautious approach is always advised. Start the initial phase of the workout slowly,
and when the pain or fatigue from a certain exercise becomes excessive, stop and re-
evaluate the workout. Consult your doctor if discomfort or pain persists for a long time
after exercising. In the Practice, Challenge and Custom Workout modes, warm ups and
cool downs are omitted or are optional since these modes are designed to be used as
part of a longer session. The game does not detect your physical condition during the
workout. Exercise which respects the limits of your body and the opinion (if appropriate)
of a doctor is entirely your responsibility. Inspect all accessories (such as the resistance
band) before use. If they are damaged, do not use them. Use by children requires the
supervision of an adult. It is your responsibility to warm up and cool down effectively.
IN THE CASE OF KNOWN PATHOLOGIES, CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE PLAYING
GET FIT WITH Mel B. THE USE OF GET FIT WITH Mel B IS HIGHLY DISCOURAGED FOR
PREGNANT WOMEN, THE ILL AND THE ELDERLY.
The player assumes full responsibility for the use of Get Fit With Mel B.
The producer, developer, editor, publisher and distributor decline any responsibility,
directly or indirectly, related to personal injuries, fatal injury, loss or damage of any kind,
including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, accidental, special damage to property, or
damage resulting from the improper use or abuse of the information contained in the
current software and/or use related to it.

choose from a wide range of goals, suitable for both men and women. Do you want to
get ready for the beach or have abs of steel for the summer? No problem. Do you want to

body? Get Fit With Mel B can help you to achieve your goal: you can even combine two
goals together to get the perfect program for you.
And who better than Mel B to accompany you on this journey? With her energy and
enthusiasm, Mel will show you the perfect way to improve day after day, adapting the
workout to your performance.
Tutorials are available for every exercise, so don’t worry if you don’t know the
difference between a sit-up and push up at the start: it’s easy when you see a practical
demonstration. Get Fit With Mel B won’t tell you off if you don’t work out on the weekend
or if you miss a few days: we know you’ve got a social life! However, to obtain the best
results, try to work out regularly, around ve times a week.
Your rst workout will be of medium dif culty: afterwards, you’ll be able to tell Mel if it
was too hard, too easy or about right. Your workouts will then adjust to your tness level,
and from then on they’ll subtly shape themselves to your abilities.
You will also have access to a nutritional plan that has been adapted to your goals,
ltering out the foods that you don’t like and giving you instructions on how to prepare
every single recipe.

creaTe a profile
Get Fit With Mel B needs to get to know you a little in order to prepare a custom workout
program and a tailored diet for you. Start by typing your name, and answer the questions
by navigating with the arrows at the bottom of the screen: point towards the arrows
located in the bottom left and right of the screen and push the S Button or the Action
Button to go forward (right) and back (left), scrolling through the questions. Don’t worry,
there aren’t too many!

cHoose WorkouT locaTion
You can choose to do a workout in one of six locations. If you want to change location,
you just need to go to the Options menu and select Location.
cHoose your goals
When you have nished creating your pro le, Get Fit With Mel B will ask you to choose
your goals. Think a little about what you hope to achieve and scroll through the various
categories to choose the goals that are most suited to you. You can set two goals and
decide how to balance them. If you prefer to focus your efforts on one goal, you don’t
have to choose a second.
If you change your mind, you can set new goals on the Workout Breakdown Screen (the
screen you see just before each workout that shows the exercises you’ll be doing) by
choosing ‘Change Goals’.

8
cHoose equipmenT
Get Fit With Mel B lets you exercise using gym equipment, a tball, an aerobic step, a
resistance band/tube or wrist/ankle weights (you will never need both wrist and ankle
weights at the same time, so if you have a set that ts both your wrists and your ankles,
that’s all you need). When you create your prole, you will be asked if you have these
accessories: select them to include them in your personalized workouts. If you buy new
equipment in the future, you can let Mel know that you now own it by choosing Options
and then Equipment.
WorkouT programs
Your personalized workout program will both schedule different types of workouts
(tness or any of six types of aerobics) and personalize these workouts to your goals and
your strengths and weaknesses. You can check your progress at any time, by choosing
Your Progress, and then Your Stats. Here you will see your current tness rating on each
type of workout, from 0 – 100.
Based on your performance, you can earn a bronze, silver or gold medal at the end
of each workout or challenge – you can see how many you’ve won by going to Your
Progress -> Your Medals. You will also earn stars as you exercise: the more you exercise
and the harder the exercise, the more stars you’re awarded. These are shown on the Your
Stats Screen. This screen also shows interesting statistics, such as the total calories
you’ve burned since you started working out with Mel in the form of food (e.g. three
pizzas).
Finally, there are a number of awards you can win for hitting specic targets. These will
pop up as you achieve them, and you can see which you’ve won by going to YourProgress
-> Your Awards.
WorkouT
To start your daily workout, choose Today’s Workout from the main screen.

9
WorkouT breakdoWn screen
Before starting, you can look at what you’ll be doing today. You can change the
length of the workout and even the goals themselves.
Every session starts with a warm-up and ends with some cool down phases.
You can see a tutorial at any time by pushing the F Button.
Try to imitate Mel B: don’t worry
about your right and left, move
as if you were in front of a mirror.
If you are using the
PlayStation®Move Motion
Controller, hold it in your right
hand.
Move to the rhythm with Mel B: use
the music and Mel’s instructions to
stay in time. The more you keep in
rhythm with Mel B, the better your
score will be. The clock shows how
much time is left until the end of
the workout.
The Reps Counter shows how many repetitions you have done.
There is also a repetition counter for Mel B which shows both how
many reps she’s done and how many both of you should
aim to do in total.
Finally, the Performance Bar shows you at-a-glance how you’re
doing in the current exercise: the higher the bar, the better your
performance. If the color is green, it means that you are doing
well. Orange indicates problems: in this case, listen to Mel’s
advice. Red means that you are out of rhythm with Mel, or that
you are using the wrong hand or foot. Remember to mirror what
Mel does: if she is using the leg on the right-hand side of your TV,
use your right leg.

10
cHoose WorkouT
As well as an everyday workout, Get
Fit With Mel B offers you various
other opportunities to exercise and
stay in shape. By choosing Choose
workout from the main screen,
several alternatives will be offered.
Note that Step Aerobics requires
an aerobics step and Pump n’ Tone
requires wrist and ankle weights. To
use Pump n’ Tone, make sure you
have selected both wrist and ankle
weights under Options -> Equipment.
Mel will use both wrist and ankle
weights, but we recommend you use one or the other depending on whether you
want to focus on your upper or lower body.
cusTom WorkouT
Custom Workout lets you combine the exercises of your choice (according to the
active goals). Choose them from the left-hand side of the screen and choose the
number of repetitions. You can also enable or disable the warm-up and cool down
phases.
Remember that if you disable them, it’s your responsibility to warm up and cool down
effectively. Custom Workout gives you complete freedom, including to create very
demanding workouts: don’t push yourself beyond your limits.
pracTice
If you want to perfect a specic exercise, you can perform that exercise only, using
the Practice option. On the left of the following screen, a list of exercises will be
shown to you which Mel B considers to be suitable for your preparation. To choose
an exercise you want to practice, select it, choose the number of repetitions and push
the Conrm Button.

11
cHallenges
If you want to see how t you are,
take on one of Get Fit With Mel B’s
challenges: see if you have legs
of steel, do the challenging cardio
test or nd out if you’re ghting t.
According to your performance, you
may be awarded a bronze, silver or
gold medal: you can see how many
and which medals have been given
to you in the Your progress screen.
These challenges are targets to aim
for, so don’t get down don’t feel
disheartened if you can’t overcome
them at the start!
nuTriTion
Get Fit With Mel B will create a
nutrition plan based on your goals,
pro le information and culinary
preferences. Choose Nutrition
to see the daily menu. Select the
picture of a recipe to see the full
list of ingredients and the step-by-
step instructions for its preparation.
You can also view all of each meal
type (e.g. all Breakfasts) that are
appropriate to your needs by clicking
one of the ‘Browse’ Buttons.

12
your progress
The Your Progress screen lets you check how you’re doing: your stats, medals and
awards are all recorded here. This section also lets you change your goals.
opTions
The Options menu lets you adjust
the volume of Mel’s voice, the
background music and the sound
effects. It also allows you to enable
or disable subtitles, change your
workout location and see the list of
credits.
In this menu, you can also manage
your exercise equipment: selecting
a piece of equipment here means it
will be automatically included in your
workouts from now on. You may also
update your weight here: this will
allow Mel to take any changes into
account when personalising your
workouts.
