1.3 Assembling the central brake
Press the retaining washer (Pos. 19) into the groove of the brake shaft (Pos. 18).
Slide the plain washer (Pos. 28) onto the short end of the brake shaft, right up to the
retaining washer. Push the brake shaft (Pos. 18) with its long end through both
castors. With non-symmetrical castors please mind the direction of assembly. Screw
both castors with the brake shaft to the container in such a way that the retaining
washer and the plain washer are located on the inner side of the wall, between the
outer screw tubes. Slide the support (Pos. 20) onto the break shaft. Insert the locking
rod (Pos. 24) into the foot pedal and from below into the case of the lock. The lock
bolt must be open while inserting the locking rod. Plug the foot pedal (Pos. 21) onto
the brake shaft and fasten with the serrated lock washer (Pos. 23) and the hexagon
socket head cap screw (Pos. 22). The directional lock (Pos. 4, special equipment) is

free spring blade on the spring support (see fig.). Slide on the lock cover (Pos. 13)
until it catches audibly and then screw together (Pos. 16). Fasten the grab handle
(Pos. 12) with screws (Pos. 10) to the right wall of the container.

Insert one end of each rod (Pos. 64) into the respective drill hole (see detail “A”) of
the bearings in the lid and insert the other end into the guide shaft. Make sure that
both rods are positioned properly inside the designated indentations in the ribs
beside each guide shaft (see detail “B”) before mounting the hand guard (Pos. 65).
Then fasten the rubber hand guard to the lid with screws (Pos. 66). Start of with the
middle screw which centres the hand guard. The tightening torque must not be more
than 2 Nm.
Check the function of guide shafts and rods by pushing both buttons.
2.1.2 Gravity boxes inside the body
For assembly, place the gravity box outside the body (Pos. 48), slide the catch
through the designated slot and fasten the box from inside with the provided screws.

2.1.3 Operational check of child safety device
After mounting the completed lid on the body, check whether the child safety device
functions correctly. When pushed from the lid arrest for the closed position, the lid
must open freely. When closing, it must be stopped by the catches of the gravity
boxes. The space of the safety opening position must be at least 181 mm wide. The
lid should close only when both buttons are pushed at the same time.
Figure 18.1 shows the rod arresting on the catch of the right gravity box. Figure 18.2
shows the space required between rod and catch of gravity box to close the lid
properly.
