is
standing
near
the
lawn
mower
while
starting
engine
or
operating

the
engine.
1.
Using the primer bulb
is
important
for
engine starting. For
cold starting, press the primer bulb lightly one
to
three times
in succession
and
quickly pull the recoil starter grip. For hot
starting, simply pull the recoil startergrip.
2.
Grip the starter handle
and
pull lightly until you feel resistance.
Then, briskly pull the starter handle up
and
out at a 30 degree
angle.
BASIC
CUTTING
PROCEDURE
• Always cut
with
asharp blade
for
the best results. A blade that
is
notsharp cuts unevenly
and
lets the grass become yellowon the
surface
of
the cut.
• Do not cut morethan
1/3
of
the length
of
the
grass.
This especially applies
during dry periods. Cut first with the
cutting height set high. Then examine
the result
and
lower
to
an
applicable
height. If the grass
is
too long, operate
slowly
and
cut
two
times
if
necessary.
'
MAX
1/3
• For very heavy cutting, decrease the width ofthe cut by making
an
overlap ofthe cut path
and
cutting slowly.
• Cut
in
different directions
each
time
to
prevent stripes
in
the
lawn.
• Regularly
hose
the grass catcher with water
and
let
dry
before
use.
Pores
in
cloth grass catchers
can
become filled
with
dirt
and
dust
with
operation. The grass catcherwill then collect
less
grass.
• The side discharging mode
of
your product
is
the best cutting
mode. Ifyou
try
to
cut a large quantity
of
grass
and
the product
does not operate correctly,
or
has
decreased operation time,
change the product
to
side discharging mode
for
better
performance
and
operation time.
BLADE
CONTROL
1.
Using the primer bulb
is
important
for
engine starting. For cold
starting, press the primer bulb lightly one
to
three times in

need
to
press the primer bulb.
2.
Standing behind the mower, squeeze the engine start/stop
control leveragainst upper handle.

3.
Holding
the
engine start/stop control lever firmly, grasp recoil
starter handle and pull rope

with
arapid, continuous, full arm
stroke. Keeping a firm grip on the
starter
handle, let the rope
rewind slowly.
4.
Pull
the recoil starter until engine compression
has
become
difficult
to
pull. Let
the
recoil return
to
the home position, then
pull quickly
to
start
the
engine. Repeat steps
as
needed.
A
WARNING
Rapid
retraction
of
the
starter
cord
(kickback)
will
pull
your
hand
and
arm
toward
the
engine
faster
than
you
can
let
go.
Broken
bones,
fractures,
bruises,
or
sprains
could
result.
