WARNING
Note that while you can have Cuts recorded in any of the formats stored in the unit, it
is best not to mix formats on a particular project. Switching from a 48K Linear to
44.1 will cause the output sample rate to change, causing possible disturbance of
equipment monitoring the digital outputs. In most cases, the Playback sample rate
converter may be used to maintain a constant output rate regardless of the sample
rate of the original Cut. ( See Page 21 ).
NOTE
The Balanced and Unbalanced analog inputs are mixed together. It is not
recommended that both be connected at the same time, unless one or the other is

Us ng the Record Sample Rate Converter
What the Record Sample Rate Converter does.
If you are record ng mater al us ng the d g tal ( AES/EBU or IEC958 II ) nputs, you can ensure
that t w ll be recorded at the sample rate you have selected, even f the ncom ng mater al s at a
d fferent sample rate. The sample rate converter can do the follow ng.
1. Convert 44.1K d g tal content to 48K
2. Convert 48K d g tal content to 44.1K
For example, assume your RECORDING FORMAT s set to 44.1K 16 B t WAV and your nput
source s the AES/EBU nputs. The d g tal source s clock ng at a 48K sample rate. If the Sample
Rate Converter s enabled, the ncom ng 48K s gnal w ll be converted to your selected 44.1K
format. L kew se, f the RECORDING FORMAT s set to 48K, an ncom ng s gnal clock ng at
44.1K w ll be converted to 48K f the Sample Rate Converter s enabled.
Note: The Sample Rate Converter has no effect if you are using the balanced or
unbalanced analog inputs for recording.
