prevention regulations for refrigeration appliances (VBG 20) an the regu-
lations of the German Society of Electrical Engineers (VDE) were observe in
the manufacture of this appliance.
The refrigerant circuit has been checke for leaks.
This appliance is in accor ance with the following EU gui elines:

Sicherheit
Die Sicherheit unserer Kältegeräte entspricht en anerkannten Regeln er
Technik un em Gerätesicherheitsgesetz. Dennoch sehen wir uns veran-
laßt, Sie mit folgen en Sicherheitshinweisen vertraut zu machen:
Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
• Das Kältegerät ist für ie Verwen ung im Haushalt bestimmt. Es eignet
sich zum Kühlen, Einfrieren un Tiefkühllagern von Lebensmitteln sowie
zur Eisbereitung. Wir as Gerät zweckentfrem et o er falsch be ient,
kann vom Hersteller keine Haftung für eventuelle Schä en übernommen
wer en.
• Umbauten o er Verän erungen am Kältegerät sin aus Sicherheitsgrün-
en nicht zulässig.
• Sollten Sie as Kältegerät gewerblich o er für an ere Zwecke als zum
Kühlen, Tiefkühllagern un Einfrieren von Lebensmitteln benutzen, bea-
chten Sie bitte ie für Ihren Bereich gültigen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
Vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme
• Überprüfen Sie as Kältegerät auf Transportschä en. Ein beschä igtes
Gerät auf keinen Fall anschließen! Wen en Sie sich im Scha ensfall bitte
an en Lieferanten.
Kä temitte
Das Gerät enthält im Kältemittelkreislauf as Kältemittel Isobutan (R600a),
ein Naturgas mit hoher Umweltverträglichkeit, as je och brennbar ist.
• Achten Sie beim Transportieren un Aufstellen es Gerätes arauf, aß
keine Teile es Kältemittelkreislaufs beschä igt wer en.
• Bei Beschä igung es Kältemittelkreislaufs:
– offenes Feuer un Zün quellen unbe ingt vermei en;
– en Raum, in em as Gerät steht, gut urchlüften.
Sicherheit von Kindern
• Verpackungsteile (z. B. Folien, Styropor) können für Kin er gefährlich
sein. Erstickungsgefahr! Verpackungsmaterial von Kin ern fernhalten!
• Ausge iente Altgeräte bitte vor er Entsorgung unbrauchbar machen.
Netzstecker ziehen, Netzkabel urchtrennen, eventuell vorhan ene
Schnapp- o er Riegelschlösser entfernen o er zerstören. Da urch verhin-
ern Sie, aß sich spielen e Kin er im Gerät einsperren (Erstickungsge-
fahr!) o er in an ere lebensgefährliche Situationen geraten.

• Kin er können Gefahren, ie im Umgang mit Haushaltsgeräten liegen,
oft nicht erkennen. Sorgen Sie eshalb für ie notwen ige Aufsicht un
lassen Sie Kin er nicht mit em Gerät spielen!
Im A tagsbetrieb
• Behälter mit brennbaren Gasen o er Flüssigkeiten können urch Käl-
teeinwirkung un icht wer en. Explosionsgefahr! Lagern Sie keine Behäl-
ter mit brennbaren Stoffen, wie z.B. Spray osen, Feuerzeug-Nachfüllkar-
tuschen etc. im Kältegerät.
• Flaschen un Dosen ürfen nicht in en Gefrierraum. Sie können sprin-
gen, wenn er Inhalt gefriert - bei kohlensäurehaltigem Inhalt sogar
explo ieren! Legen Sie nie Limona en, Säfte, Bier, Wein, Sekt usw. in en
Gefrierraum. Ausnahme: Hochprozentige Spirituosen können im Gefrier-
raum gelagert wer en.
• Speiseeis un Eiswürfel nicht unmittelbar aus em Gefrierraum in en
Mun nehmen. Sehr kaltes Eis kann an Lippen o er Zunge festfrieren un
Verletzungen verursachen.
• Tiefkühlgut nicht mit nassen Hän en berühren. Die Hän e könnten aran
festfrieren.
• Keine Elektrogeräte (z. B. elektrische Eismaschinen, Rührgeräte etc.) im
Kältegerät betreiben.
• Vor Reinigungsarbeiten as Gerät grun sätzlich abschalten un en
Netzstecker ziehen o er Sicherung in er Wohnung abschalten bzw.
heraus rehen.
• Netzstecker immer am Stecker aus er Steck ose ziehen, nie am Kabel.
Im Störungsfa
• Sollte einmal eine Störung am Gerät auftreten, sehen Sie bitte zuerst in
ieser Gebrauchsanweisung unter "Was tun, wenn ..." nach. Falls ie ort
aufgeführten Hinweise nicht weiterhelfen, führen Sie bitte keine weite-
ren Arbeiten selbst aus.
• Kältegeräte ürfen nur von Fachkräften repariert wer en. Durch unsach-
gemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren entstehen. Wen en
Sie sich im Reparaturfall bitte an Ihren Fachhän ler o er an unseren
Kun en ienst.

Information zur Geräteverpackung
Alle verwen eten Werkstoffe sin umweltverträglich! Sie können gefahrlos

Zu en Werkstoffen: Die Kunststoffe können auch wie erverwertet wer en
un sin folgen ermaßen gekennzeichnet:
>PE< für Polyäthylen, z. B. bei er äußeren Hülle un en Beuteln im Innern.
>PS< für geschäumtes Polystyrol, z. B. bei en Polsterteilen, grun sätzlich
FCKW-frei.
Die Kartonteile wer en aus Altpapier hergestellt un sollten auch wie er zur
Altpapiersammlung gegeben wer en.
Entsorgung von ltgeräten
Aus Umweltschutzgrün en müssen Kältegeräte fachgerecht entsorgt wer-
en. Dies gilt für Ihr bisheriges Gerät un - nach em es eines Tages ausge-

Energy Saving Tips
• Do not install the appliance near cookers, ra iators or other sources of
warmth. High ambient temperatures cause longer, more frequent opera-
tion of the compressor.
• Ensure sufficient air circulation an exhaust at the appliance base an at
the back wall of the appliance. Never cover air vent openings.
• Do not place warm foo s into the appliance. Allow warm foo s to cool
first.
• Only leave oor open as long as necessary.
• Do not set temperature any col er than necessary.
• Keep the heat emitting con enser, the metall grille on the rear wall of
your appliance, always clean.

yourself using the following instructions. Do not perform any other work on

Die Umgebungstemperatur wirkt sich auf en Stromverbrauch un ie

– nicht an Heizkörpern, neben einem Her o er sonstigen Wärmequellen
stehen;
– nur an einem Ort stehen, essen Umgebungstemperatur er Klimaklasse
entspricht, für ie as Gerät ausgelegt ist.
Die Klimaklasse fin en Sie auf em Typschil , as sich links im Innenraum

Nachstehen e Tabelle zeigt, welche Umgebungstemperatur welcher Kli-
maklasse zugeor net ist:

Ist ie Aufstellung neben einer Wärmequelle unvermei bar, sin folgen e

water. Commercially available ish washing etergents may also be use .
5. After cleaning wipe with fresh water an rub ry.

1. Remove the frozen foo from the freezer, wrap it in several layers of new-

2. Switch off the appliance an pull out the plug, or remove or unscrew the
safety fuses.
3. Leave the freezer compartment oor open.
4. Turn the thermostat knob to the require setting or replace the plug in the
power socket.
Warning!
Never use metal tools to scrape off the frost
Do not use a mechanical evice or any artificial means to spee up the
thawing process other than those recommen e by the manufacturer.
A temperature rise of the frozen foo packs, uring efrosting , may shor-
ten their safe storage life.
Cleaning and Care
For hygienic reasons the appliance interior, inclu ing interior accessories,

Preparation of Ice Cubes
1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with col water, place it in the freezer com-
partment an leave to freeze.
2. To loosen the frozen cubes, either ben the ice cube tray or hol it un er
running water for a few secon s.
Important! Never try to free an ice tray that is frozen to the freezer com-
partment using pointe or sharp e ge objects.
• All foo s must be packe air tight prior to freezing, so that they o not
ry out or lose their flavour, an so that no flavour contamination of
other frozen goo s occurs.
Caution! Do not touch frozen foo with wet han s. Your han s coul free-
ze to the foo .
1. Unfrozen foo must not touch items alrea y frozen, otherwise the frozen
foo coul begin to efrost.
2. To achieve faster freezing of foo or to freeze the maximum allowe quan-
tity, turn the thermostat setting to the highest position.
Defrosting
Refrigerator
Frost is automatically eliminate from the evaporator of the refrigerator
compartment every time the motor compressor stops, uring normal use.
The efrost water rains out through a trough into a special container at
the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor, where it evaporates.
Freezer
The freezer compartment, however, will become progrssively covere with fro-
st. This shoul be remove with al plastic scraper, whenever the tickness of the

of frozen goo s. Whether the upper or lower value of the in icate stora-

Freezing and storing frozen food
You can use your freezer for freezing fresh foo yourself.
Important!
• The temperature in the freezer compartment must be –18 °C or col er
before freezing foo .
• Please observe the freezing capacity given on the rating plate. The free-
zing capacity is the maximum quantity of fresh foo that can be frozen
within a perio of 24 hours. If you wish to freeze foo several ays in a
row, please observe a maximum capacity of only 2/3 to 3/4 of that on the
rating plate. The quality of the foo is best preserve when it is frozen
right through to the core as quickly as possible.
• Allow warm foo to cool own before freezing. The warmth will cause
increase ice formation an increase the power consumption.
• Please note the maximum storage times specifie by the manufacturer.
• Thawe foo s which have not been processe further (cooke into meals)
may not un er any circumstances be frozen a secon time.
• Containers with flammable gases or liqui s can leak at low temperatures.
There is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any containers with flamma-
ble materials such as, for example, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill car-
tri ges etc in the refrigerator/freezer.
• Bottles an cans must not be place in the freezer. They can burst when
the contents freeze, high carbonate content rinks can even explo e!
