AIRLOGS BAGS TRACKING

1AIRBEACON
The Airbeacon is the device through which baggage tracking is performed.
The blue button in the center is the switch to turn on e off the device.
To turn on the Airbeacon you have to keep press the blue button for at least 3
seconds; during the turning on of the Airbeacon the blue light under the button is
lighting in a continuous way for 3 seconds.
To switch off the device you have to keep press the blue button for at least 3
seconds; during the turning off of the Airbeacon the bue light under the button
flashes intermittently for 3 seconds.
You can check the status of the device by pressing the blue button for 1 second: if
the device is on then the blue light flashes for 1 seconds.
On the back of the Airbeacon there is a bar code needed for the registration (v.
2.1 User Registration).
We recommend to keep the Airbeacon switched off when you don’t need to
track your baggage in order to save the battery.
Anyway it is possible to change the battery: the code is IEC CR2447, 1 Ah, 3 V.

2APP AIRLOGS BAG TRACKING
First of all you need to download the Airlogs Bag Tracking APP from the store and
to install on your smartphone:

2.1 User Registration
After APP installation you need to register to the service, using the function
Register.
The required information is as follows:
username: is the user that you’ll use to login to the system
email: mail address; you need to use a valid email because to validate a
new user a confirmation mail is sent to the email address you entered
password: for security reason the password must have at least 8 characters,
contain at least one upper case letter and one number
Name: required field
Surname: required field
Address:
ZIP code:
City:
Nation: required field
Country code: required field
Phone number: required field

To confirm the registration you need to approve the Terms of Service and the
Privacy Policy.
The new user will be active after the confirmation of the verification email.
2.2 APP functionality
After user registration and email confirmation it is possible to login to the service by
clicking on Login button in the Home Page and by entering username and
password.
If you need to recover your username you can use the Forgot your Username
function: you have to enter the email address used in the registration and if the
address is correct the system will send an email with the username.

If you need to recover your password you can use the Forgot your Password
function to reset the password: you have to enter your username and the system
will send an email with a link to change the password.
The main page of the APP is MyAirbeacon, where you can find the list of the
Airbeacon linked to the user.
The other function available are User, to manage your personal data, and Settings,
to manage the APP parameters.
2.2.1 Airbeacon linking
First of all yoou need to link the Airbeacon to the user: the function is in the Settings
area.

Clicking on “Link new Airbeacon” the smartphone camera is activated to read the
barcode in the back side of the Airbeacon.
The Airbeacon need to be switched on; you can check the status pressing the
blue bottom for 1 second.
If the linking operation it is ok, there is a confirmation message, otherwise there is a
error message.
You can use the “Edit name” function to change the name of the Airbeacon
linked to the user.
If you no longer want to use an Airbeacon you can use the “Unlink” function and
the system will no longer track the Airbeacon.

It is possible to link again the Airbeacon to the same user.
It not possible to link the AIrbeacon to a different user.
2.2.2 Tracking Airbeacon
In MyAirbeacon page there is the list of all the devices linked to the user: for each
of these you can see the information regarding the position and the date of the
last detection; furthermore you can see the battery charge status. The charge
battery level is approximate: if the level if below 25% we recommend to change
the battery.
The colour of the baggage icon show the Airbeacon status.
Grey colour: the Airbeacon is not detected by any device
Green colour: the Airbeacon is not detected by the user smartphone but is
detected by another user or by a fixed receivers)
Light blue colour: the Airbeacon is detected by the user smartphone; the
current distance of the Airbeacon depends on different factors. The
maximum detection distance in open spece is about 50 meters.
By clicking on one Airbeacon you can see the position on the map of the last
detection.

The map is centerd on the last detected location; you can navigate the map with
the usual modes.
By clicking on the button you can return on the initial position of the map.
2.2.3 Detection history
By clicking on History button you can see the history of the detected position.
There is a calendar in which you can see on green colour the date in which there
are at least one detection. By clicking on the arrow you can change the displayed
month.
By clicking on one of the green date the system show the list of the detections on
the selected date, In descending order (The first detection shown is the most
recent).

For simplicity reason the detection are detailed with a minimum time interval of 10
minutes. By clicking on one detection, you can see its location on the map.
From map visualization it is possible to navigate forward and backward in time
from one detection to another using the light blue arrow near time indication.
2.2.4 User Personal Data
It is possible to change your personal data using the “User” function in the bottom
menu.

By clicking on “Edit data” you can update all the personal information except the
username.
If you change the email address, a verification message will be sent to the new
email; you need to confirm the new address in order to make effective the
change.
In the bottom of the page there are the “Change Password” button to modify your
password and the “Save” button to save the changes made.
