Thank you for choosing the AlerteGPS G300 speed camera detection system, the ideal partner
to guarantee full peace of mind on the road!
The G300 features vocal alerts: it will warn you when you’re approaching a control zone – fixed,
mobile, red light – or even a dangerous zone (dangerous curves, intersection or frequent acci-
dents) .
The G300 speed detection system is a driving assistant: it works with the well known satellite
network Global Positioning System (GPS).It allows you to know the speed of your vehicle, and
the distance between your vehicle and the control zone. It also features a speed limiter func-
tion, and an internal memory to save your own points of interest.
Please read this manual carefully so that you can feel familiar with all functionalities of the G300.

The diodes located on both sides of the unit are a real visual alert system that every driver should
appreciate very when driving at night.They will light blue or red as you approach a speed control zone,
depending on the speed of your vehicle.
Battery level indicator
A series of red dots let you know the battery charge
level from four to one :
When the battery level is low, the G300 will also
warn you with beeps.

Shows : - the speed of your vehicle

The G300 indicates the exact speed of
your vehicle thanks to the GPS.

As you approach a control
zone, depending on the speed
of your vehicle (see below), the
G300 will emit a voice alert indicating
the speed limit.
As you approach a fixed speed
camera, the G300 will emit
“beeps” if you are driving over
the speed limit.
As you approach a control or a danger
zone,in addition to the vocal alerts, the
display of the G300 shows different
indications.

Remove the protection from the magnet
Fix the magnet on the dashboard of your vehicle, in a
horizontal position.
Place the G300 on the magnet when you want to use
it in your vehicle
Start the G300 by setting the selector to "ON". If the
battery level is low, please connect your unit to the
cigar-lighter of your vehicle. Important

- in order to work properly, the device must be fixed in a horizontal position and as close
as possible to the windscreen
- remove the device from the magnet before you leave your vehicle to avoid degrada-
tions and thefts.
- climatic conditions may influence the satellite connection..
For cars
To avoid prolonged exposure to the sun,
never leave the G300 on the dashboard.
Use only at temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 35°C (95°F).
Installing the G300 with an external antenna:
- fix the external antenna on the roof of your vehicle and
make sure to place the cable inside the cabin of the vehicle.
- connect the antenna to the external antenna connector of
the G300.
Your vehicle may have an athermic windscreen which
may affect the satellite connection. In that case, you
will need to use an optional external antenna.

Don’t leave the unit on your bike: take the unit with you when you leave your bike.
When you start the G300, a short animation will be displayed.

Check that the headphone cable is long enough
in order to let you drive in optimal position.
Please note That the G300 is not waterproof:
You must protect the unit by placing it in your
pocket or in an ALERTEGPS arm wallet.

For bikers
Connect a headphone (mini-jack) to the G300.
Put the unit into a pocket of your jacket or your biker’s suit
and place the headphone over your head.
If your bike is equipped with a small case, you can place
the G300 in it.
We recommend that you use the ALERTEGPS biker kit
(earphone + arm wallet).

The G300 will start automatically after you have con-
nected it to the cigar lighter, and a short animation will
be displayed.
The display will then show the update number in this
format : month/day (4 numbers)
The display of the G300 features three modes:
To switch from one mode to the other, press app. two seconds on the brightness
button . Default setting is day mode.
The button in the centre of the unit is made to switch on or
off the speed limiter function.
- If you drive 50 Mph on a highway, press that button quickly,
and a beep will warn you every time you exceed 50 Mph.
- If you drive then drive 30 Mph on a minor road, press that button
again – quickly – and a beep will warn you every time you exceed
that speed.
- To turn the speed limiter off, press the button app. 2 seconds.
Important : The speed is rounded up or down by the speed limier. So, if you drive
55 Mph, the speed will be rounded up to 60Mph
If you drive 54 Mph, the speed will be rounded down to 50 Mph.
The G300 includes a user memory to save your own points of interests: a
danger zone for example.
To save a point of interest, press the save button for approx. two seconds as
you pass the point of interest.The location of your vehicle is saved.
To cancel a POI: as you pass the point, and after the alert has started to sound,
press the save button for approx. two seconds.
This can be done during up to15 seconds after the beginning of the vocal alert.
To increase the volume, press shortly and repeatedly the button.
To decrease the volume, press shortly and repeatedly the button.

Satellite connection:
The G300 will then start to acquire satellite connection.
You can follow the satellite connection on the display.
A vocal alert will warn you when the connection is done.
Then, the default information displayed is the speed of your
vehicle (over 10 Mph). Important: please note that the G300
will perform a quicker satellite connection if the vehicle is
stopped.

The G300 features two diodes located on each side.They will light blue or red as you approach a control zone,
depending on the speed of your vehicle.
The diodes are a visual warning system that is very useful when driving at night.

TIP : when driving at night, put the volume of the G300 at the lowest level.

As you approach a control zone, the diodes will
light blue if your speed doesn’t exceed the
speed limit.
If the speed of your vehicle is more than
10mph under the speed limit, no vocal
message will be heard.
If you accelerate in the control zone and if you
reach a speed that is less than 10mph under
the speed limit, the vocal message will start.

As you approach a control zone, the diodes will
light red if your speed exceeds the
speed limit.
If you deccelerate in the control zone and you reach a speed that is more than 10mph
over the speed limit, the diodes will light blue.
ECO MODE
The G300 features an advanced power management mode, called “Eco Mode”: In Eco Mode, the energy consumption is lower and the battery will last longer.
In Eco Mode, the G300 warns you as you approach a control zone, visually and acoustically, and will switch to stand-by mode when there’s no alert on the road.
When there’s no alert, a dot is displayed on the screen: indicating that the power is on.
As you approach a control zone, the usual information is displayed on the screen.
To turn the Eco Mode on, place the mode selector on “Eco”.

• The G300 cannot work properly in a tunnel or a basement, because the satellite recep-
tion is disturbed.We strongly recommend driving carefully in those areas.The G300 needs
a short time to establish the connection to the satellites again.
• The G300 calculates the direction of the vehicle to avoid wrong alerts. However, wrong
alerts can occur sometimes. If you’re driving a parallel road that is sited very close to a
road on which an alert is located, a wrong alert may occur.
• The G300 is a driving aid that must be considered as a prevention tool.The purpose of
this system is to encourage you to drive carefully and to respect the road safety rules.We
decline all responsibility for any infringement to the legislation and the road safety rules.
• Hardware and software of this device are the property of GPS PREVENT and are protec-
ted by copyright laws and intellectual property laws.They may not be copied or distribu-
ted in any illegal manner.
• The GPS (Global Positioning System) is placed under the authority of the American
government. GPS Prevent cannot be held responsible for the availability and precision of
the GPS.
• You must respect all road safety rules.
• Do not disturb the driver or cause any damage to the safety elements of the vehicle
while installing the GPS.
• While installing the device, make sure that it cannot be dangerous to the occupants of
the vehicle, particularly in case of dislodgment.
• Recycling legislation for household electrical appliances:
• Keep the unit and the cigar-plug away from water.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Directive
According to Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment, household electrical appliances
cannot be dispersed in the conventional waste stream.
Used electrical and electronic equipments must be
collected
• If the unit or the cigar-plug falls in the water, don’t touch the unit before you have
disconnected the cigar-plug from the cigar socket of your vehicle, and remove the unit
using the cable.
• Read this manual and all safety warnings carefully before you use or install this unit.
• If your vehicle is parked in the sun, let the unit cool down before you use it.
• Cleaning instructions: don’t use solvents. Clean regularly.
• Don’t let liquids or objects enter the housing through the ventilation holes.They may
damage the internal parts of the unit and cause an electric shock, a short-cut or a fire.
• Do not try to repair and disassemble the unit yourself.This may cause an electric shock.
Please contact a qualified technician.
• Disconnect the unit when it’s not in use.To protect this unit in case of a storm or when
it’s not used for a long time, disconnect it from the network.
• 12/24 V negative earth socket only. Remove cigar-plug while leaving vehicle. Disconnect
cigar-plug when starting vehicle. Always use the correct rated fuse.
• Keep away from naked flames (like candles).
• Use in temperate areas.
• A minimum space of 2 inches should be maintained around the unit for its ventilation.
• Don’t connect any cable to the unit before removing or connecting the power cable.
Connect the external antenna after the power cable, and disconnect it before you remove
the power cable.
• The software and the drivers are provided as is. GPSprevent declines all responsibility in
case of software or hardware incompatibility.
• The access to the website is not guaranteed in case of site maintenance, network distur-
bance, connection problems or any problem that could disturb access to the website.
• To minimize the risks of interactions between two GPS devices, a distance of 20 inches
should be maintained between this unit and another GPS device.

Battery :
• Batteries are liable to short circuits. A shortcut could occur if the battery poles are in
contact with another battery or a metallic object.
• Use only at temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 35°C (95°F).
• To prolong the battery life, charging should only occur at moderate room temperatures.
• Keep the battery away from fire, naked flames (like candles) and water. Never heat the
battery.
• Never try to open or repair the battery.Repairs must be carried out by qualified person-
nel only.
• Use exclusively replacement batteries recommended by alertegps. Never use batteries
designed for other devices or not recommended by alertegps.
• Don’t leave the G300 connected to the cigar-plug of your vehicle when you leave your
vehicle.The battery could overheat or ignite after a very long connection.
• The battery is guaranteed 3 months.
Battery charger :
• The included battery charger must exclusively be used with this device. Never try to use
it with other devices.
• Never use other battery chargers.
• If the device remains unused during a long period, disconnect the battery charger from
the socket.
