POWER ON/OFF:
The unit has a main power switch. When the main power is switched on, both LCD displays will light up.
*Except where indicated, all commands here described can be performed or activated using either the front panel buttons or the
remote control.
AUDIO PLAYER SECTION:
CD OPERATION - COMPACT DISCS
The CD player accepts both 12CM and 8CM compact discs. Insert a disc into the slot with the data side facing down, and press
the play button to begin playback. Use the CD/TUNER button on the remote control to switch to CD/USB/Card Mode. The CD on

Warning: When inserting a disk into the CD player or taking a disc out, it is necessary to let the CD player insert the disk and

• If the unit does not accept a CD, check that Card or USB modes are not selected. Press the FUNCT button until CD displays.
Press PLAY in order for the unit to load and recognise the CD.
• If the unit does not eject a CD, check that Card or USB modes are not selected. Press FUNCT button until CD displays. Press
PLAY in order for the unit to load and recognise the CD, then STOP/EJECT. The CD will now eject.
FUNCTIONS:
Note: Some functions are not described in detail here because they are standard functions whose operations are simple
and/or self-explanatory. Except where indicated, these functions are accessible from buttons on both the front panel and the
remote control.
A-B: This function is only available from the remote control. It allows a selected section of music source to be continually
repeated in a loop. Press A-B once to select the start position. The display will show A and B will be flashing. Press again at
the desired end position. The display will now show ‘AB’ and the selected music source selection will be continually repeated.
Press A-B again will cancel repeat function.
FUNCT: When this button is pushed, the media player cycles through its different playback modes as shown below - CD >> USB
>> CARD >> AUX. The FUNCT button is similar to a ‘source’ button on some other devices. These words will appear on
screen to indicate the mode selected.
REPEAT: In CD Mode - Press REPEAT to repeat playing the current track only. Press repeat a second time to repeat all the
tracks. Press repeat a third time to repeat all tracks in random order. Pressing a fourth time activates “INTRO PLAY” and
pressing a fifth time returns to the normal “PLAY ALL” mode. The words for the various types of repetition will display on

RECORDING AUDIO:
REC/DEL: This function enables the device to record from one input source to one of the available recording media – USB or SD
Card. The steps are the same for the REC button on the remote control.
1 Make sure the destination media is inserted correctly. You can have media inserted into both the USB and SD Card slots and
the system will let you choose the destination.
2 Make sure the source input is ready i.e. insert a CD into the slot, or pair the Bluetooth with a device, or if dubbing from USB to
SD Card, insert the source USB drive. In the case of recording from DAB+/FM or Bluetooth RCA outputs, connect an RCA
lead from an output to the Record in (AUX) RCA input. (There is no need to use an RCA audio lead to record from CD to either
USB or CARD. The audio signal is transferred internally in this case.)
3 Choose the source mode using the FUNCT button. I.E. To record from AUX mode (Source = Record In), press FUNCT until
“AUX” appears on the LCD.
4 Press REC/DEL button (or REC on the remote control). Follow the prompts on the LCD. If two destination media (USB and
SD Card) are available, the system will ask you to choose using the << or >> or REV/CUE buttons. Once selected, press
REC/DEL again. The screen will say “WAITING….” at first and then “RECORD >> USB” once the recording process has
begun. If there is no destination recording media inserted, the LCD will display “RECORD NO MEDIA”.
5 To stop encoding, press REC/DEL again or press STOP.
6 To copy a USB drive’s MP3 files and folders to an SD Card (or vice versa), choose the USB as source, and select CARD as
destination. The digital copying process will proceed at high speed transfer and display the percentage as each file is copied.
Press STOP to interrupt or halt copying.
7 Copying from regular CD / CD-ROM or DAB+/FM or Bluetooth (via AUX) takes place in real time.
The copy function will retain the order and track name and ID of the source media, except for AUX input, which will be
encoded from analogue into MP3 and be given a filename in the form: REC-AUX001.MP3, REC-AUX002.MP3 etc. A folder
“TMC-AUX” will be created in the USB Root directory. Here is the outline for the recording system file structure:
In USB/CARD mode, press and hold the REC/DEL to place the device into delete mode. Use << or >> or REV or CUE buttons to
select a folder. Then press and hold >> button to confirm that folder and enter the track list. Then use the same buttons to select
a desired file / track. Press REC/DEL key to delete the selected track. These steps are the same for the DEL button on the
remote control. Repeat the process for each track in a folder that you want to delete. If no action is taken after pressing the
REC/DEL function button, the system reverts to status quo after about 20 seconds. To cancel the delete function, just press
STOP.

Note: Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the device yourself or via a non-authorised
Altronics service centre, as this will invalidate the warranty!
