using your Amacooka.
• The operator must understand all safety requirements as de-
tailed in this manual before using the unit.
• The operator is responsible for the safety of all third parties
while the appliance is in use.
• The manufacturer’s warranty will be voided by incorrect use of
this product.
• If you have any queries regarding these instructions, contact
your local dealer for before you use your Amacooka.
• The unit must be correctly installed before use.
• Failure to follow the manuals instructions could result in damage
or serious injury.
• DO NOT use indoors. The Amacooka is designed for
OUTDOOR USE ONLY.
• Ensure that the Amacooka is positioned on an even and secure
surface before operating.
• Leak test all gas lines and connections before use.
• DO NOT store materials near the Amacooka.
• DO NOT place or use aerosol sprays near the Amacooka.
• Use only with LPG gas.
• DO NOT leave the Amacooka unattended when it is alight.
• Onlookers should keep a safe distance away from the
Amacooka when it is in use.
• Keep children and animals well away while the Amacooka is in
use.
• Parts of the Amacooka will get extremely hot and could cause
serious burns - test every surface before touching it.
• Be very careful when operating the Amacooka. The operator
should pay constant attention to the food being cooked and
should remain at the appliance at all times when it is lit.
• Ensure that the gas supply is turned OFF after use and while
the Amacooka is unattended.
• Neither the manufacturer nor their Agents can accept any
liability for the unsuitability of, or any damage to, any food
cooked on this appliance.
• Modifying or tampering with any part of this Amacooka is illegal
and unsafe and will void your warranty.

theboxandcutthecabletiesthatsecurethefoldawaylegs.
TheAmacookaisamanifoldformultipleappliances.
Variousappliances/accessoriescanbepurchasedfromyour
localdealertobeusedwithyourAmacooka.

SELECTING A LOCATION
TheAmacookaisforoutdooruseonlyandshouldbeplacedina
well-ventilatedarea.
TheAmacookaconsumesoxygen.Itisdangerousforthehealth
andsafetyoftheoccupantstousethisapplianceinareasthat
arenotproperlyventilated.
Takecaretoensurethatitisnotplacedunderanycombustible
surface.
ThesidesoftheAmacookashouldnotbecloserthan1metreto
anycombustiblesurface.
KeeptheAmacookaawayfromanyammablematerials.
PRECAUTIONS
Shouldyouneedtochangethegascylinder,ensurethatthe
cylindervalveisclosed,anyappliancesareswitchedoffand
therearenosourcesofignition(cigarettes,openames,sparks,
etc)nearbybeforeproceeding.
Inspectthegashosetoensureitisfreeofanytwistingor
tension.Thehoseshouldhangfreelywithnobends,folds,or
kinksthatcouldobstructthefreeowofgas.Apartfromthe
connectionpoint,nopartofthehoseshouldtouchanyhot
Amacookaparts.
Alwaysinspectthehoseforcuts,cracks,orexcessivewear
beforeuse.Ifthehoseisdamaged,itmustbereplacedwitha
hosesuitableforusewithLPGandwhichmeetsthenational
standardsforthecountryofuse(SouthAfrica:SANS1156-2or
BS3212).Thelengthofthehoseshallnotexceed1,5m.

positionofthetheleghooksmakeitsuitablefortabletopuse.All
packagingandcabletiesmustberemovedbeforeuse.
ERECTING AND COLLAPSING THE AMACOOKA
InordertoerecttheAmacookaforstandupuse,thefollowing
stepswillneedtobefollowed:
1. RemovetheAmacookafromit’spackagingandcutthe
cableties.(Figure A)
2. Foldeachofthe2leftand2
rightlegsouttowardsyou,
whenfacingthecorresponding
sides.Lockthe4legsinposi-
tionbytighteningthewingnuts
onthelegsupports.(Figure B)
3. Checkthatalllegsaresecure
andstable.(Figure C)

LEAK TEST
Theleaktestmustbecarriedoutinawell-ventilatedarea,free
fromanyamesorothersourcesofignition.
• Withthecylinderconnected
totheAmacooka.Openthe
cylindervalve.
• Brushtheconnections
(Amacookatocylinder)with
asolutionofequalpartssoap
andwater(makesureit’s
foamy).
• Astreamofbubblesforming
indicatesagasleak.(See
Fig.H)
• Ifbubblesappear,turnthe
cylindervalveOFF(clockwise)
anddisconnecttheAmacooka
fromthegascylinder.
• Tightentheconnectionand
retrytheleaktest.
• Ifyouareunsureorifyou
cannottightentheconnection,
placethecylinderoutsideina
cool,well-ventilatedareaand
contactAlvaon086 100 ALVA
(2582).
• AleakbetweentheAmacooka
andcylindercanleadtoahigh
pressurere,whichisvery
dangerousandcanresultin
extensiveinjuryorevendeath.

Q: How long will the gas in my cylinder last?
A: ThisdependsonhowyouuseyourAmacooka.Itis
 easytocalculateyourgasconsumption.Takethe
 capacityofthegascylinderingrams(i.e.3000gfora9
 3kgcylinder)anddivideitbythegasconsumptionof
 theappliances.Theanswertothecalculationisthe
 approximatenumberofhoursthatyourgaswilllastfor.
Q: What do I do if I have an over-lled cylinder?
A: Thebestmethodtodetermineifyourcylinderisover-
 lledistoweighit.Subtractthe‘tare’massfromthe
 cylinderweight–thisgivesyoutheweightofyourgas.
 Ifthisgasweightexceedsyourcylinderdesignweight
 (9kg)thenreturnthecylindertoyourgassupplier.
