1. Important safety instructions
Every person involved with installation and maintenance of this product has to:
- be qualiled
-follow all instructions and heed all warnings in this manual
CAUTION!
Be careful with your operations. With a high voltage you can suer
a dangerous electric shock when touching the wires inside the unit!
This product has left our premises in absolutely perfect condition. In order to maintain this condition and to
ensure a safe operation, it is absolutely necessary for the user to follow the safety instructions and warning
notes written in this manual.
WARNING
To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to a rack in accordance
with the installation instructions.”
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including
ampliers) that produce heat.
Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with dry cloth.
MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain
readily operable.
Only use attachments/accessories specied by the manufacturer.
Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and
the point where they exit from the apparatus.
Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged
in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the
apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
Use a source of AC power that complies with local building and electrical rules.AC power has to have both
overload and short circuit protection.
This device falls under protection class I.Therefore the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount
has to be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection!

2. Operating determinations
This product was designed for indoor use only.
If the unit has been exposed to drastic temperature uctuation (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on
immediately. The arising condensation water might damage your unit. Leave the unit switched o until it has
reached room temperature.
Avoid brute force when installing or operating the unit.
When choosing the installation-spot, please make sure that the unit is not exposed to extreme heat, moisture
or dust.
Only operate the unit after having checked that the housing is rmly closed and all screws are tightly fastened.

The maximum ambient temperature 40° C must never be exceeded.
Operate the unit only after having familiarized with its functions. Do not permit operation by persons not qualied
for operating the unit. Most damages are the result of unprofessional operation!
Please use the original packaging if the product is to be transported.
Please consider that unauthorized modications on the unit are forbidden due to safety reasons!

5. Installation
5.1 Connection to the mains
CAUTION!
These servicing instructions are for use by qualied service personnel only. To
reduce the risk of electric shock do not perform any servicing other than that con-
tained in the operating instructions unless you are qualied to do so.
The ArcPower 384 Rack Mount is equipped with auto-switching power supply that automatically adjusts to any
50/60Hz AC power source from 100-240 Volts.
The fixture is equipped the cord & plug QP 02 but you can use the following plugs:
P620,24W47,14W49,24W49,26W81,HBL4720C,HBL2311, HBL2321,HBL2811 and the cords SJT or 22326.

5.2 Installing the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount into the rack
The ArcPower 384 Rack Mount is designed for the mounting into 19- inch equipment rack.
The hight of the xture matches 2U size. Installing the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount involves following steps:
1. Mount the rails into the equipment rack.
2. Install the rails onto the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount unit.
3. Slide the the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount into the rack and secure it in this positione by tightening the 2 screws
on each side of the ArcPower 384 front panel.
Note: If the equipment rack is badly ventilated , we recommend to mount the 2 spacers (1U size) on both sides
of the ArcPower 384 as shown on the picture to ensure free space under and over the unit.
6. DMX 512 operation
The ArcPower 384 Rack Mount is equipped with both 3-pin and 5-pin XLR sockets for DMX input and output.
Only use a shielded twisted-pair cable designed for RS-485 and 3-pin/5-pin XLR- connectors in order to connect
the xture with the DMX controller or one xture with another.

To build a DMX chain.
1. Unplug xtures from the mains before installation.
2. Connect the LED modules to the xtures.You cannot combine RGB and RGBW modules
(e.g. ArcSource 6 RGB and ArcSource 7 RGBW) on the same LEDs output.
3. Connect the DMX controller to the rst xture
4. Connect xtures each other. Max. 32 xtures may be connected on a DMX link. Terminate the DMX link
by installing a termination plug in the output of the last xture. The termination plug is a male 3-pin/5-pin
XLR plug with a 120 Ohm resistor soldered between Signal (–) and Signal (+).
5. Connect xtures to the mains
6. Set desired DMX address on each xture (see the chapter "Control board").
Note: You cannot combine RGB andRGBW modules on one LED output as the current circle of the white LEDs
will not be closed ( white LEDs will not lit). All modules have to be either RGB or RGBW on one LED output..
7. Ethernet operation
The xtures on a data link are connected to the Ethernet network with an Art-Net communication protocol. The
control software from PC (or lighting console) has to support the Art-Net protocol.
The Art-Net communication protocol is a 10 Base T Ethernet protocol based on the TCP/IP. Its purpose is to
allow transfer of large amounts of DMX 512 data over a wide area using standard network technology.
An IP address is Internet protocol address. The IP uniquely identies any node (xture) on a network.
The Universe is a single DMX 512 frame of 512 channels.
The ArcPower 384 Rack Mount is equipped with 8-pin RJ- 45 socket for Ethernet input. Use a network cable
category 5 (with four “twisted” wire pairs) and standard RJ-45 plugs in order to connect the xture to the network.
Patch cables that connect xtures to the hubs or LAN sockets are wired 1:1, that is, pins with the
same numbers are connected together:

If only the xture and the computer are to be interconnected, no hubs or other active components are needed.
A cross-cable has to be used:

All xtures have to be connected to Ethernet via standard patch cables and a data switch.
The option “ Ethernet” has to be selected from the “Set Ethernet Mode” menu on each xture.
Set correct IP address and the Universe for each xture.

10. Fixture menu
The xture menu allows to set the xture according to your needs, obtain information on its operation, test its
various parts and lastly program it, if it has to be used in a Stand-alone mode.
Control elements on the front panel:
The ANS rotary wheel used to move between menu items on the same level or adjusts values.
The ESC button used to leave menu without saving changes.
The ENTER button used to enter menu, conrms adjusted values and leaves menu.
After switching the xture on, the display shows the initial screen:
Press the ENTER button, the display shows current address:
The main menu of the control panel is accessed by pressing the ENTER button. To browse through the menu,
rotate the ANS wheel. To select a menu item, press the ENTER button.
10.1 Fixture Address
DMX Address ---Use the menu to set the DMX start address of the xture, which is dened as the rst channel
from which the ArcPower 384 will respond to the controller.
Dynet zone --- The item allows to select desired Dynet zone which is assigned to the rst zone of the xture.
Note: If Dynet zone 0 is selected, dynet commands go to all LED outputs.
Example: Dynet zone = 5.

Ethernet Settings --- The menu provides all needed settings for an Ethernet operation.
Set Ethernet Mode - use the menu to set an Ethernet functional mode:
Disable Ethernet - Disables an Ethernet operation.
Ethernet - control data is received to the Ethernet input of the xture ( RJ45 socket).
Each of xtures has to be connected to Ethernet.
Set IP Address - Select this menu item to set an IP address. The IP address is the
Internet protocol address, uniquely identies any node (xture) on a network.
There can‘t be 2 xtures with the same IP address on the network!
Default IP Address - a preset IP address, you can change only rst number of
the IP address (number 2 or 10).
Custom IP Address - a fully editable IP address.
To set the custom IP address:
1. Select the „Custom IP Address” and press the ENTER button
2. Use ANS wheel to adjust he rst number of the IP address
3. Press the ENTER button to move on the second number of the
IP address
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the third and the fourth number of the
IP address.
If you want to return back on the previous number, press the ESC button.
Set ArtNet Universe - use this menu item to set a xture Universe. The Universe is a single
DMX 512 frame of 512 channels.
10.2 Fixture information
Use this menu to read useful information about the xture status.
Power On Time --- Use the menu item to read the number of operation hours.
Total Hours - the function shows the total number of the operation hours since
the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount has been fabricated.
Resettable Hours - the function shows the number of the operation hours that
the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount has been powered on since the counter was last reset.
In order to reset this counter to 0, press the ENTER button twice.
Air Filters --- Regular cleaning of the air lters is very important for the xture´s life and performance. Build-up
of dust, dirt and fog uid residues reduces the xture´s light output and cooling ability. The two items of this
menu help you to keep cleaning period of the air lters.
Set alert period - cleaning schedule for the xture depends on the operating environment.
It is therefore impossible to specify accurate cleaning interval. This function allows
you to change the cleaning interval of the air lters. This „alert“ value is 50 hours and it
is set as default. Inspect the xture within its 50 hours of operation to see whether cleaning
is necessary. If cleaning is required, clean all air lters and change the value in this menu
on acceptable level. Min. level of alert period is 10 hours, max. is 300 hours.
Elapsed Time - the option allows you to read the time which remains to cleaning air lters.
The time period is set in the menu mentioned above.
Expired time period is signalized by a negative mark at the time value and a warning icon
(triangle) on the display with the following message: „Clean Air Filters“.
Clean the lters and reset this menu item (by pressing the ENTER button twice while
this menu is highlighted) to start the new time countdown.
Fixture Temperatures --- Select this menu to read the temperatures of the xture:
Current - the current temperature of the xture inside.
Maximum nonresettable - the menu item shows the max. temperatures of the xture inside
since the ArcPower 384 Rack Mounthas been fabricated.
Maximum resettable - the menu item shows the maximum temperatures of the xture
inside since the counter was last reset. In order to reset desired counter to 0,press
the ENTER button twice.
Note: The ambient temperature should not exceed 40°C.
The temperatures can be displayed in either °C or °F units - see option „Temperature unit“ in the menu “Per-
sonality“.
Measuring temperature points: Board 1 Temp. - temperature on the electronic module 1.
Board 2 Temp. - temperature on the electronic module 2.

DMX Values --- Select this function to read DMX values of each channel received by the xture.
Note: if DMX mode 6 is selected, items Zone 1-8 colour macro and items Dimmer 1-8 are not displayed.
Software Version --- Select this function to read the software versions of the xture processors:
IC1 MB1 - the processor in the electronic module 1 controls LED zones 5-8.
IC2 MB1 - EEprom on the electronic module 1.
IC1 MB2 - the processor in the electronic module 1 controls LED zones 1-4.
IC1 DS - the main display processor on the front panel of the xture.
IC2 DS - the display memory on the front panel of the xture.
Product IDS --- Select this function to read either the MAC address or the RDM UID gure.
10.3 Personality
Use this menu to modify the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount operating behaviour.
User mode --- The ArcPower 384 Rack Mount allows you to recall up to 3 user settings. After switching the
xture on for the rst time, the User A settings is active. Now all changes made in the “Personality” menu ,
”Fixture Address” menu and the “ Presetting Playback“ menu from the “Stand-alone setting” are saved to the
User A settings. If you now select the User B settings, from this moment the changes you makes will be saved
to the User B settings. After switching the xture o and on, the User B setting will be active. In this way you
may use the 3 xture operating behaviours.
User A Settings - the function recall the user A settings.
User B Settings - the function recall the user B settings.
User C Settings - the function recall the user C settings.
DMX Preset --- Use this function to set desired channel setting. Please refer to the chapter “DMX protocol” for
a detail description of each mode.
Communication Protocol --- Select desired protocol: DMX, Dynet or RS-232.
Display Adjusting --- This menu allows you to change the display settings.
Display Permanent On - this function allows you to keep the display permanent on or
to turn it o automatically 2 minutes after last pressing any button on the control panel.
Display Intensity - select this function to adjust the display intensity (1 - min., 10 - max.).
Display Backlight - select this function to adjust the display backlight (1- min., 10 - max.).
Display Turned - select this function to turn the display by 180°.
IR Sensor --- Select this function to switch on/o the infra-red remote control.
Init Eect Positions --- Use this function to set all eects to the desired positions to which they will move after
switching the xture on (if DMX is not being received).
Temperature Unit --- Use this menu in order to display the xture temperatures in desired units: °C or °F.
Balance --- Use this menu item to enable (On) or disable (O) the white balance which is set in the „White colour
balance“ menu below. If this function is set O, the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount will use maximum values (255)
of saturation for red, green and blue colour. This function has to be set on before adjusting a white balance.
White Colour Balance --- The menu gives access to the setting of the white balance.
To set white colour balance.
1. Use a DMX controller or the “Manual Mode“ menu to set all LEDs on max. saturation.
2. Use the ANS rotary wheel to nd the “Personality“ menu.
3. Press the ENTER button.
4. Use the ANS rotary wheel to select the "White Balance Setting“ menu.
5. Press the ENTER button and the "Red“ item will appear on the display.
6. Press the ENTER button and use ANS rotary wheel to set new max. value for the red LEDs.
7. Press the ENTER button to conrm the choice.
8. Use the ANS rotary wheel to select next colour, "Green“.
9. Repeat steps 6-7 for this channel.
10. Use the ANS rotary wheel to select the last colour, "Blue “ and repeat steps 6-7 for this colour.

LED Output Current --- The menu allows to set desired current output to each LED zone depending up
used LEDs
Zone 1 – 350mA per channel for 1Watt LEDs (Cree MC-E RGBW multichips) or
700mA per channel for Luxeon K2( ProLight Opto 3Watt Proeon)LEDs
:
Zone 8– 350mA per channel for 1Watt LEDs (Cree MC-E RGBW multichips) or
700mA per channel for Luxeon K2( ProLight Opto 3Watt Proeon)LEDs
Warning: Set the LED Output Power before connecting the LED modules to the driver. Never connect
1Watt LEDs to the 700mA output otherwise these LEDs vill be destroyed.
LEDs Power Limiting --- The menu item alows to reduce total current for desired zone. If option "O" is
selected, max. total current is allowed but for option "On" total current (sum of each channel currents) will be
reduced to 1200 mA max.
Important: If the ArcPower 384 Rack Mount is used for control of the ArcPad 48, two rules has to be kept:
1. The LEDs power limiting has to be set On at zone for which is the ArcPad 48 connected.
2. The LEDs output current has to be set on 700mA at zone for which is the ArcPad 48 connected.
Maximum Fade Time --- Select this menu item to set a desired max. fade time (0.1-25.5 sec.). This adjusted
fade time inuences fade of Red, Green, Blue ,White and dimmer at each zone during DMX operation:
If time between two receiving DMX values is > than fade time set in the item “M Ftime“, the entire adjusted
fade time will be used.
If time between two receiving DMX values is < than fade time set in the item“M Ftime“, the adjusted fade time
will be reduced to ll entire time between the two receiving DMX values.
e.g “Maximum Fade Time“=2sec. and xture has received Red=0 DMX, after 5 seconds will receive Red=255
DMX. It means, that red will go to full intensity during 2 seconds (and 3 seconds will stay in full intensity).
“Maximum Fade Time“=8 sec. and xture has received Red=0 DMX, after 5 seconds will receive Red=255 DMX.
It means, that red will go to full intensity during 5 seconds. (Max, fade time is reduced from 8 sec. to 5 sec.).
The Maximum Fade Time inuences R,G,B,W, colour macro and Dimmer at each zone and also the global
dimmer.
Default Settings --- The menu item sets all xture parameters to the default (factory) values.
10.4 Test sequences
Use this menu to run test program or user programs 1-3 without an external controller.
10.5 Manual mode
Preset Eects --- Select this menu to call up preset channel eects.
Manual Eect control --- Use this menu for full control of each channel eect.
Note: if DMX mode 6 is selected, items Zone 1-8 colour macro and itms Dimmer 1-8 are not displayed.
10.6 Stand-alone setting
Use this menu to set options used in stand-alone mode, as a selection of the running program, programming
and modifying programs.
Presetting Playback --- This function allows you to select the program which will be played after switching the
xture on. Selected program will be played in a loop.
Disabled –the option disables the “Presetting playback” function.
Test Program - The option will start built–in demo sequences.
Program 1 - the option will start a program No.1.
Program 2 - the option will start a program No. 2.
Program 3 - the option will start a program No. 3.
Note. If any program from this menu is has been selected and the xture is switched o and on (and receives
a DMX signal), the xture does not reply to DMX and will run this program.
Playing program --- Use this menu to run a desired program in a loop.
Test Program In Loop - the option starts built–in demo program.
Program 1 In Loop - the option starts program No. 1.
Program 2 In Loop - the option starts program No. 2.
Program 3 In Loop - the option starts program No. 3.
