Follow the manufacturer's care i nformation.

Close the washing machine door. Take c aren ot to trap items of laundry between the washing

Measure according to:
The amount of laundry, level of soiling, water h ardness (ask your water supply company) and
manufacturer's instructions.
On models without an insert for liquid detergent:
Pour liquid detergent into the app ropriate dispenser and place in the drum.
During operation, open the detergent drawer with care.

 Alw ays fill the washing machine with a maximum amount of laundry for
the relevant programme.
 W ash normally soiled laundry without a prewash.
Instead of Cottons L90 °C,select the Cottons L60 °C programme a nd the
additional ćEco Perfect function.Comparable cleanin g result with signi ficantly
lower energy consumption.
 Mea sure the detergent according to the manufacturer's instructions and water
hardness.
 If you want to dry the laundry in the tum ble dryer afterwards, select a spin speed
suggested by the dryer manufacturer.

Individual settings
ʑOptions buttons
The spin speed and temperature can be cha nged before and during the selected programme. The effects dep end on
the programme progress.
ʑV(Temperature °C)
You can change the displayed washing temp erature. The maximum washing temperature that can beselected depends
on the programme that has been set.
ʑ(Finished in)
Whenyou select the programme, the relevantprogramme duration is displayed.Y oucan delay the start of the programme
beforeit begins.The "Finished in" time can be set in increments of one hour up to a maximum of 24 hours. Press the
(Finishedin) button repeatedly untilthe desired number of hours is displayed (h = hour). Press$Start/Relo ad.
ʑ(Spin speed in rp m) / (Rinse hold = no final spi n)
You can change the sp in speed shown or select c(Rinse hold = no final spin, laundry remains in the water after the
final rinse, ---appears in the display panel). You can change the spin speed shown. The maximum selectable spin
speed depends on the model and on whi ch programme is currently selected.

Special spin sequence with subsequent fluffing. Gentle final spin at reduced speed.
Residual moisture in the laundry is i ncreased slightly.

improving the washing result.
ʑChildlock
(in the display panel
You can lock the washing machin e to prevent the functions you have set from being ch anged
inadvertently.
ON/OFF: after the start/end of the program me, press and hold $Start/Reload for approx.
5 seconds.
Note: The childlock can remain activated until you wish to start thenext progr amme,even after
switching off the machine.
Then you can deactivate the childlock before starting the programme and activate it again as
necessary once the programme has started.
Note:
The (symbol is lit: Childlock acti ve.
The (symbol flashes: Childlock active and then the programme selector is altered .
To prevent the programme from stopping, tu rn the programme selector back to the original
programme, the (symbol is lit again.
ʑAdd laundry
§+o,in the display panel
If you want to add additional items of laundry after the programme has started, press the
$Start/Reload button. The machine checks whether a dding laundry is possible.
§+,are lit: Adding lau ndry is possible.
ǯflashing: Wait until §+,are lit.
Note: Only open the washing machine door when both the §+,symbols ar e lit.
ǯ: It is not possible to add laund ry.
Note: for safety reasons, the washing mach ine door remains locked when the water level and/
or temperature is high, or during spinning.
To continue the programme, press th e $Start/Reload button.
ʑEnergy saving m ode
If the washing machine is switch ed on and is not operated for several mi nutes before the programme starts or at t he
end of the programme, the d isplay panel light goes out an d the $Start/Reload button flashes.
Press any button to turn the l ight back on.

Safety instructions
 Read the Instr uction Manual and Installation Instructions and all other information enclosed with the wa shing
machine and use the machine according ly.
 Retain the documents for subsequent use.
Risk of electric shock  Never pull o n the cable to disconnect the mains plug.
 Only insert /pull out the mains plug with dry hands.
Danger to life For worn-out appliances:
 Disconnect t he mains plug.
 Cut throu gh the mains cable and remove complete with plug .
 Destroy the lock on the washing machine door. This will prevent children from
locking themselves in and risking their lives.
Danger of suffocation  Keep packaging, film and packaging pa rts out of the reach of children.
Risk of poisoning  Keep detergents and care products out of the reach of children.
Risk of explosion  Items of laun drypr etreated with cleaning agents containing solvents, e.g. stain
remover/cleaning solvent may cause an explosion after being loade d into the
washing machine.

Important information
Before washing for the fi rst time
Do not put any laundry in th e machine. Turn the tap on. Pour the following into compartment II:
approx. 1 litre water
 detergent (amo unt to be used according to the manufacturer's instructions for light soiling and
according to water hardness)
Turn the programme selector to Easy-Care I60 °C and press $Start/Reload.
At the end of the programme, tur nth e programme selector to Off.
Protecting the laundr y and the machine
 When meas uring detergent, care products and cleaning agents, follow the manufacturer's instruction s.
 Empty pockets.
 Look o ut for metal items (paperclips, etc.).
 Wash de licates in a laundry bag (tights, curtains, underwired bras).
 Fasten zips, do up any buttons.
 Brush sand ou t ofp ockets and collars.
 Remove curta in fittings or place in the laundry bag.
Loading laundr y
Insert items of laundry of varying sizes.
Take care not to trap items of laundry between the washing mac hine door and the rubber seal.
Laundry with varyi ng degrees of soiling
Wash new items of clothing separately.
light No prewash. If required, selec t the additional ĈSpeed Perfect function.
Pretreat any stains as necessary.
heavy Donot load as much laundry. Select the programme with Pr ewash.
Soaking Load laundry o f the same colour.
Pour soaking agent/detergent into compartment II in accordance with the manufactur er's instructions.
Set the programme selector to Cottons L30 °C and selec t $Start/Reload.
After approx. 10 minutes, p ress $Start/Reload to stop the programme. After the required soaking time,
press $Start/Reload again to continue the pro gramme, or change the programme.
Starching Laundry must not be treated with fabric softener
Starching is possible in all wash programmes if liquid starch is used. Pour starch into the ~fabric softener compa rt-
ment in accordance with the manufa cturer's instructions (rinse first if necessary).
Dyeing/bleaching
Dye should only be used in normal household quantities. Sa lt may damage stainless steel. Always follow the dye
manufacturer's instructions. Do not use the washing machine for bleaching clothes.

Insert for liquid detergent depending on model
Position the insert for dispensi ngli quid detergent:
Remove the detergent drawer completely apa ge 10.
 Slide th e insert forwards.
Do not use the insert (slide u pwards):
 For gel-ty pe detergents and washing powder,
for programmes with + Prewash 7or (Finished in) option
Care
ʑMachine housing, co ntrol panel
 Remove d etergent residue immediately.
 Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
 Do not clea n with a jet of water.
Cleaning the deterg ent drawer ...
... if it contains detergent or fabric softener residues.
1. Pull out, press insert down, remove drawer completely.
2. To remove the insert: press the insert upwards from below with your finger.
3. Clean the detergent dispenser tray and insert wi th watera nd a brush and dry it.
4. Fit the insert and lock it i n place (push the cylinder onto the guide pin).
5. Push in the detergent dra wer.
Leave the detergent drawer open so that any residual water can evap orate.
ʑDrum
Leave the washing machine door o pen so that the drum can dry out.
Use chlorine-free cleaning agent, not s teel wool.
ʑDescaling Ensure there i sn o laundry in the machine
This should not be necessary if the co rrect detergent dosage has been used. If it is necessary , however, proceed
according to the descaling agent manufacturer's ins tructions. Suitable descalers can be obtained via our website or
from our after-sales service (apage 13).
Instructions in the display panel depending on model
,flashing Close the washing machine doo r properly; laundry may be caught.
§:³Å,ÉOpen the tap completely, supply hose kinked or trapped; Clean the filter apage 11,
water pressure too low.
§:³µDetergent solution pump blocked; Clean the detergent solution pump apage 11.
Drain hose/waste pipe blocked; Clean the drain hose on the siphon apage 11.
§:´Water in the base tub, appliance leaking. Call the after-sales service.
Other displays Switch off the appliance, wait for 5 seco nds and switch it back on. If the display appears again,
call the after-sales service apage 13.
Risk of electric shock. Disconnect the mains plug.
Risk of explosion. No solvents.

Information about blockages
Detergent solution p ump
Turn the programme selector to Off and disconnect t he mains plug.
1. Open and remove the service fla p.
2. Take the drain hose out of th e retainer.
Remove the sealing cap, allow th e detergent solution to flow out.
Push the sealing cap back on.
3. Unscrew the pump cover carefully (residual water).
4. Clean the interior, pump cover thread and pump h ousing (the impeller in the detergent
solution pump must be a ble to rotate).
5. Replace the pump cover and screw it on tightly. The handle points upright. Rep lace the
drain hose in the holder.
6. Refit the service flap and close it.
To prevent unused detergent from flowi ng straight into the drain during the next wash:
Pour 1 litre of water into compartment II and start the Drain >pro gramme.
Drain hose on the siph on
Turn the programme selector to Off an d disconnect the mains plug.
1. Loosen the hose clamp, remo ve the drain hose carefully (residual water).
2. Clean the drainage hose and siphon conn ecting piece.
3. Reattach the drainage hose and secure the connection with the hose clamp.
Filter in the water su pply
Risk of electric shock
Do not immerse the AquaStop safety dev ice in water (contains electric valve).
Reduce the water pressure in the sup ply hose:
1. Turn off the tap.
2. Select any programme (except Spin / Drain >).
3. Press $Start/Reload. Let the programme r un for approximately 40 seconds.
4. Turn the programme selector to Off.Disconnect the ma ins plug.
Clean the filter:
5. Disconnect the hose from the tap.
Clean the filter with a small bru sh.
and/or on standard and Aquasecure models:
Remove the hose from the back of the appliance,
remove the filter using pliers and clean the filter.
6. Connect the hose and chec k for leaks.
Risk of scalding.
 Allow the detergent solution to co ol down.
 Turn off the tap.

 Not a f ault - the action of the care product is not affected.

What to do if...
ʑIn Add laundry mode,

quickly and a signal sounds.
 W ater level too high. Not possible to add more laun dry. Close the washing
machine door immediately if necessary.
Press $Start/Reload to continue the p rogramme.
If you cannot correct a fault your self (switching on/off) or a repair is required:
Turn the programme selector to Off and p ull the mains plug out of the socket.
Turn off the tap and call the a fter-sales service apage 13.

1. Turn the programme selector to Off and pull o ut the mains plug.
2. Drain the detergent solution apage 11.
3. Pull the emergency release downwards with a tool and release.
Washing machine door can then be opened.

The spin speed and temperature can be changed before and during the selected programme. The effects depend on
the programme progress.
ʑV(Temperature °C)
You can change the displayed washing temperature. The maximum washing temperature that can be selected depends
on the programme that has been set.
ʑ(Finished in)
When you select the programme, the relevant programme duration is displayed. You can delay the start of the programme
before it begins. The "Finished in" time can be set in increments of one hour up to a maximum of 24 hours. Press the
(Finished in) button repeatedly until the desired number of hours is displayed (h = hour). Press $Start/Reload.
ʑ(Spin speed in rpm) / (Rinse hold = no final spin)
You can change the spin speed shown or select c(Rinse hold = no final spin, laundry remains in the water after the
final rinse, ---appears in the display panel). You can change the spin speed shown. The maximum selectable spin
speed depends on the model and on which programme is currently selected.

You can lock the washing machine to prevent the functions you have set from being changed
inadvertently.
ON/OFF: after the start/end of the programme, press and hold $Start/Reload for approx.
5 seconds.
Note: The childlock can remain activated until you wish to start the next programme, even after
switching off the machine.
Then you can deactivate the childlock before starting the programme and activate it again as
necessary once the programme has started.
Note:
The (symbol is lit: Childlock active.
The (symbol flashes: Childlock active and then the programme selector is altered.
To prevent the programme from stopping, turn the programme selector back to the original
programme, the (symbol is lit again.
ʑAdd laundry

If you want to add additional items of laundry after the programme has started, press the
$Start/Reload button. The machine checks whether adding laundry is possible.

Safety instructions
 Read the Instruction Manual and Installation Instructions and all other information enclosed with the washing
machine and use the machine accordingly.
 Retain the documents for subsequent use.
Risk of electric shock  Never pull on the cable to disconnect the mains plug.
 Only insert/pull out the mains plug with dry hands.
Danger to life For worn-out appliances:
 Disconnect the mains plug.
 Cut through the mains cable and remove complete with plug.
 Destroy the lock on the washing machine door. This will prevent children from
locking themselves in and risking their lives.
Danger of suffocation  Keep packaging, film and packaging parts out of the reach of children.

Important information
Before washing for the first time
Do not put any laundry in the machine. Turn the tap on. Pour the following into compartment II:
approx. 1 litre water
 detergent (amount to be used according to the manufacturer's instructions for light soiling and
according to water hardness)
Turn the programme selector to Easy-Care I60 °C and press $Start/Reload.
At the end of the programme, turn the programme selector to Off.
Protecting the laundry and the machine
 When measuring detergent, care products and cleaning agents, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
 Empty pockets.
 Look out for metal items (paperclips, etc.).
 Wash delicates in a laundry bag (tights, curtains, underwired bras).
 Fasten zips, do up any buttons.
 Brush sand out of pockets and collars.
 Remove curtain fittings or place in the laundry bag.
Loading laundry
Insert items of laundry of varying sizes.
Take care not to trap items of laundry between the washing machine door and the rubber seal.
Laundry with varying degrees of soiling
Wash new items of clothing separately.
light No prewash. If required, select the additional ĈSpeed Perfect function.
Pretreat any stains as necessary.
heavy Do not load as much laundry. Select the programme with Prewash.
Soaking Load laundry of the same colour.
Pour soaking agent/detergent into compartment II in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Starching Laundry must not be treated with fabric softener
Starching is possible in all wash programmes if liquid starch is used. Pour starch into the ~fabric softener compart-
ment in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions (rinse first if necessary).
Dyeing/bleaching
Dye should only be used in normal household quantities. Salt may damage stainless steel. Always follow the dye
manufacturer's instructions. Do not use the washing machine for bleaching clothes.

Remove the detergent drawer completely apage 10.

 Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

Cleaning the detergent drawer ...

1. Pull out, press insert down, remove drawer completely.
2. To remove the insert: press the insert upwards from below with your finger.
3. Clean the detergent dispenser tray and insert with water and a brush and dry it.
4. Fit the insert and lock it in place (push the cylinder onto the guide pin).
5. Push in the detergent drawer.
Leave the detergent drawer open so that any residual water can evaporate.
ʑDrum
Leave the washing machine door open so that the drum can dry out.
Use chlorine-free cleaning agent, not steel wool.
ʑDescaling Ensure there is no laundry in the machine
This should not be necessary if the correct detergent dosage has been used. If it is necessary, however, proceed
according to the descaling agent manufacturer's instructions. Suitable descalers can be obtained via our website or
from our after-sales service (apage 13).

Information about blockages
Detergent solution pump
Turn the programme selector to Off and disconnect the mains plug.
1. Open and remove the service flap.
2. Take the drain hose out of the retainer.
Remove the sealing cap, allow the detergent solution to flow out.
Push the sealing cap back on.
3. Unscrew the pump cover carefully (residual water).
4. Clean the interior, pump cover thread and pump housing (the impeller in the detergent
solution pump must be able to rotate).
5. Replace the pump cover and screw it on tightly. The handle points upright. Replace the
drain hose in the holder.
6. Refit the service flap and close it.
To prevent unused detergent from flowing straight into the drain during the next wash:
Pour 1 litre of water into compartment II and start the Drain >programme.
Drain hose on the siphon
Turn the programme selector to Off and disconnect the mains plug.
1. Loosen the hose clamp, remove the drain hose carefully (residual water).
2. Clean the drainage hose and siphon connecting piece.
3. Reattach the drainage hose and secure the connection with the hose clamp.
Filter in the water supply
Risk of electric shock
Do not immerse the AquaStop safety device in water (contains electric valve).
Reduce the water pressure in the supply hose:
1. Turn off the tap.
2. Select any programme (except Spin / Drain >).
3. Press $Start/Reload. Let the programme run for approximately 40 seconds.
4. Turn the programme selector to Off.Disconnect the mains plug.
Clean the filter:
5. Disconnect the hose from the tap.
Clean the filter with a small brush.
and/or on standard and Aquasecure models:
Remove the hose from the back of the appliance,
remove the filter using pliers and clean the filter.
6. Connect the hose and check for leaks.

changes during the washing
cycle.
 Not a fault - the programme sequence is optimised for the relevant washing pro-
cess. This can cause changes in the programme duration in the display panel.
ʑRepeated spin start-up.  Not a fault - imbalance monitoring system is equalising the imbalance.
ʑResidual water in the ~com-
partment for care products.
 Not a fault - the action of the care product is not affected.

Run the Cottons L90 °C programme with the washing machine empty.
Use standard detergent.

Too much detergent used?
Mix 1 tablespoon of fabric softener with ½ litre water and pour the mixture into

What to do if...
ʑIn Add laundry mode,
$Start/Reload flashes very
quickly and a signal sounds.
 Water level too high. Not possible to add more laundry. Close the washing
machine door immediately if necessary.
Press $Start/Reload to continue the programme.
If you cannot correct a fault yourself (switching on/off) or a repair is required:
Turn the programme selector to Off and pull the mains plug out of the socket.
Turn off the tap and call the after-sales service apage 13.
Emergency release e.g. in the event of a power cut
The programme continues when the power supply is restored. However, if the laundry has to be removed,
the washing machine door can be opened as follows:
Risk of scalding
The detergent solution and laundry may be hot. If possible, leave to cool down.
Do not reach into the drum if it is still rotating.
Do not open the washing machine door if water can be seen through the glass.
1. Turn the programme selector to Off and pull out the mains plug.
2. Drain the detergent solution apage 11.
3. Pull the emergency release downwards with a tool and release.
Washing machine door can then be opened.
