3.2.1( Lighting(Instructions(

1. Visually!inspect!the!fire!pit!to!ensure!it!is!free!on!any!obstruction!or!materials!(combustible!
or!non!combustible)!that!would!impede!proper!operations!of!the!fire!pit.!
2. Insert!key!into!gas!value!
3. Light!a!long! butane! lighter! and! hold!it! over!the!wire! mesh!close!to! the!burner! ring.!!Take!
care!to!keep!your!face,!hand!and!any!part!of!your!body!as!far!away!as!possible.!
4. Rotate!the!gas!valve!key!slowly!counter-clockwise!to!the!“ON”!position!to!allow!gas!to!flow!
and!apply!the!burning!lighter!as!close!to!burner!as!possible!to!light!the!fire!pit.!
5. The!gas!should!light!within!5!seconds.!!If!fire!pit!does!not!light!within!5!seconds!turn!the!gas!
valve!key!clockwise!to!the!“OFF”!position!to!turn!off!the!gas!supply,!wait!20!seconds!for!gas!
to!dissipate!and!try!lighting!instructions!again.!
6. Once!burner!lights!remover!lighter!
7. Adjust! flame! to! desired! height!using! gas! valve! key.! ! When! desired! height!is!achieved,!
remove!key!from!valve!and!set!in!an!accessible!location.!!!

The!owner!may!perform!the!following!tasks.!!If!you!are!uncomfortable!performing!any!of!the!listed!
tasks,!please!call!Breck!Ironworks!or!authorized!dealer!for!a!service!appointment.!

1. Keep!fire!pit!covered!at!all!times!when!not!in!use.!!Allow!fire!pit!proper!time!to!cool,!may!
take!several!hours!depending!on!environmental!factors.!
2. Keep!any!debris!out!of!fire!pit!-!after!fire!pit!is!properly!cool!remove!any!debris!or!clean!as!
needed!
3. Visually!inspect!components!for!any!signs!of!damage!or!corrosion.!!If!damage!is!detected,!do!
NOT!operate!and!call!a!qualified!service!technician!to!repair.!!
4. Soot!can!build!up!on!logs!through!normal!use.!!This!is!more!likely!to!occur!when!using!LP!
gas.!!The!soot!can!be!cleaned!off!using!a!dry!bristle!brush!or!cloth.!!Take!care!while!cleaning!
the!logs!as!they!can!become!damaged!if!mishandled.!

•Changes!in!surface!color!as!a!result!of!normal!use.!!Steel!will!naturally!patina!and!corrode!
due!to!use,!moisture!and!other!environmental!factors,!some!changes!in!color!may!occur;!
this!is!not!a!flaw!and!not!covered!under!warranty.!
•This!warranty!does!not!cover!items!that!have!been!damaged!by!overheating,!modification,!
abuse!or!improper!storage.!Also!any!labor!involving!installation!or!maintenance!with!the!
unit!is!not!covered.!
•This!warranty!excludes!claims!for!consequential,!indirect-collateral!expenses!arising!from!
product!defects!or!warranty!recovery.!
