CAUTION
Provide ample ventilation. This gas appliance consumes air (oxygen). Do not use this appliance in an unventilated space to
avoid endangering your life. If still more gas appliances and/or occupants using gas are added to the space, additional ventilation
must be provided.

Read these instructions carefully so as to familiarise yourself with the appliance before ting the appliance to a gas cylinder.

1. General
• The CADAC gas hob is an economic gas appliance designed for an optimal cooking experience using LP gas.
• This appliance conforms to SANS 1539:2017.
• Note that gures in this user manual are shown for visual purposes only and may differ to your appliance.
• Please read all the instructions and warnings on the appliance before use.
• It is important that all gas connections have been correctly connected to prevent any gas leaks.
• Do not use a leaking, damaged or malfunctioning appliance.
• This appliance requires a hose and regulator to operate.
• Ensure that the appliance is used in a well-ventilated area.
• Handle the appliance with care, do not drop it.
2. Safety information
These instructions are for your safety and to help you avoid risk of injury and/or damage. All
warranties will become void if you do not follow these instructions.
General safety precautions
• Please read all the instructions and warnings on the appliance before use.
• If the appliance has any visible damage or is defective, do not operate the appliance.
• Do not do any repairs or modications on the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance if and when your judgement or coordination is impaired due to the
use of alcohol and/or drugs.
• Do not place any ammable materials close to the appliance during use or after use as the
sides of the appliance may still be hot.
• Make sure all ventilation slots are clear of obstructions.
• The appliance may be hot when in use. Never touch the hot burners or surfaces.
• Ensure that the control knobs are switched off after every use.
Precautions when working with gas
• Any work done on gas equipment may only be done by authorised persons who are registered
LP gas installers.
• This appliance will be installed and connected in accordance with current installation regulations. Attention should be given to the
relevant requirements regarding ventilation.
• Only a registered gas installer may install this appliance, so make sure that the installer signs off the installation and supply’s you with
an installation certicate on completion.
A gas leak is a serious re hazard!
Put out all naked ames and do not do anything that could cause a re.
• Gas appliances should be regularly checked for proper functioning and for any defaults.
• All gas connections must be checked with every use and replace any worn parts.
In case of a gas leak
• Turn off all control knobs on the gas appliance and close the cylinder valve.
• Open the doors and windows to ventilate the room.
• Check for leaks using soapy water and check all tubes and connections for tightness.
• If you still smell gas contact your nearest gas service centre for assistance and leave the property.
In case of blow back on a burner:
• If you are experiencing burn back (where the ames burn back into the jet) immediately turn off the control knob to the affected
burner.
• Check that the burner is located properly and nothing is restricting the gas ow from the jet.
• Re-light the burner.
• If burn back continues, turn off the control knob to the affected burner, and consult the nearest CADAC service technician who will
advice you on what to do next.
Note!
• This appliance is designed for domestic use only. Commercial use will void any warrantee.
• CADAC or any other third party shall not be held liable for any damage caused due to improper installation, use or operation of this
appliance.
• This product should not be used as a heater.
• Please be cautious of any sharp edges when handling the product.

4. Ventilation
CADAC recommends natural ventilation and the installation of a mechanical ventilation device (mechanical extractor hood). Prolonged
intensive use of the appliance may require additional ventilation to be installed.
Room ventilation is important for the efcient performance of the appliance and for the safety of the occupants in the room.
The room where this appliance is installed should have a window or a door that can be opened or partially open during use.
If there is no window or door available for room ventilation, extra ventilation must be installed for your safety.
Do not install this appliance in a room below ground level.

5. Installing the hob
• CADAC accepts no liability for this service and the installation is the buyers responsibility.
• The installation, including gas connections, must be carried out by an LPGSASA registered gas installer.
• Installations by unauthorized persons will void any warranty by CADAC and any third party.
• CADAC will not be held responsible for any injury or damages due to procedures carried out by unauthorized
persons and non compliance with these provisions.
• Before installation, check if the appliance has any defects on it. If so, do not have it installed. Damaged appliances are a
safety risk.
Note to the installer
This apliance is designed for a domestic worktop. A safety distance must be left between the appliance and the kitchen walls.
• If a hob ue is to be installed above the appliance, refer to the ue manufacturers instructions regarding installation
height (min 700mm).
• Any surfaces, synthetic laminates and adhesives used must be heat resistant (100°C minimum).
This appliance has an operating pressure of 2.8kPa. Use a LPG regulator that complies with the requirements of SANS 1237.
CADAC and the seller are not responsible for any damage due to incorrect installation or gas connection.
This appliance may only be installed by a registered LP gas installer registered with the LPGSASA. (Liqueed Petroleum Gas Association
of Southern Africa). A certicate of compliance must be issued to the user on completion.
The appliance must be installed in accordance with the requirements of SANS 10087-1 or SANS 827.
An emergency shut off valve must be installed between the regulator and the appliance. Ensure the shut off valve used is compatible with LPGas.
• Flexible hose
Any hose that is used to connect the hob to the gas system shall comply with SANS 1156-2 or BS 3212.
• Gas cylinder
For best results we recommend that a gas cylinder with a minimum capacity of 9kg be used that complies to SANS 4706.
• Regulator
A 2.8kPa LPG gas regulator which complies with SANS 1237 must be used.
Information to the user on the gas hob installation
Important information for the user
Note that all installations should be done by a registered LP gas installer, failure to do so any risks and damages are at your own discression and
will void all warranties.
On completion of the installation, the installer needs to explain the operational details of the appliance and supply safety instructions to
you. This certicate must be kept for safety and insurance purposes.
Connecting the hose and regulator to the cylinder
• Ensure that there is no gas leakage.
• Gas cylinders must be located in a suitable ventilated area according to local standards.
• Always check for gas leaks after installation and whenever you rell your gas bottle.
Leakage prevention
• The appliance is tted with a ame failure device (FFD) that will shut off gas ow in case of a ame out (for your safety).
• It is good practice to ensure that the control knobs on the hob are off when not in use.
• Open the valve on the gas cylinder to check for leaks, with the control knobs in the off position.
• Apply some soapy water to all connections.
• Bubbles will appear if there is a leak.
• If there is a leak, close the valve on the gas cylinder immediately.
• Check and tighten all the connections.
• Repeat the procedure to ensure that there are no further leaks before using the appliance.
Caution: NEVER use a naked ame to check for gas leaks.

6. Operating the Appliance
Warning! Do not attempt to light the appliance if you suspect any leak or smell gas.
• Turn on the gas by opening the cylinder valve.
• Wait for a few minutes and make sure there is no smell of gas or gas leaks.
Igniting the gas burners
Press the control knob in and turn in an anti-clockwise direction from the off position (“•”) until it reaches the “large ame” symbol, the
gas is ignited with the spark created from the battery operated piezo. You will need to hold this position for a few seconds in order for the
ame failure device (FFD) to heat up before releasing the control knob. If the burners do not ignite the rst time, repeat this process and
try again.
Once ignition has taken place, you can adjust the contol knob to the desired cooking power.
Cooking
The size of the pot/pan and the ame must be compatible. Adjust the gas ames so that they do not extend past the bottom of the pot/
pan and make sure that the pot/pan is centered on the pan support.
The large ame symbol indicates the highest cooking power and the small ame symbol indicates the lowest cooking power.
In the turned off position (top), gas is not supplied to the burners.
How to replace the burners
Rapid/Auxiliary burners:
Align the burner base so that the hole is in line with the piezo as shown in Fig.1.
Place the burner base down gently making sure that the piezo is located as shown in Fig.2.
Place the burner top down onto the burner base ensuring that it feels well located as shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4.

Prior to rst use and everytime you change the gas supply
• Open gas supply.
• Check gas installations for secure tting and tightness.
• Ignite burners and check appearance of the ame.
• If a cylinder has been changed, it may take a while for the gas to ow to the burners.
The ame should be blue and smooth. If the ames appear yellowish, check that the
burner cap is seated correctly or clean the burner. Switch off the gas and let it cool before
removing/replacing the burner.

Wok burner:
Align the burner base so that the hole is in line with the piezo as shown in Fig.1.
Place the burner base down gently making sure that the piezo is located as shown in Fig.2.
Place the large ring down onto the burner base ensuring that it feels well located as shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4.
Place the burner top down onto the burner base ensuring that it feels well located as shown in Fig.5 and Fig.6.

8. Warning
•Use an appropriate regulator that applies to SANS1537 with an outlet pressure of 2.8kPa.
•Never disconnect the regulator while cylinder valve is open.
•Do not change cylinders in close proximaty of open re.
•Do not expose your cylinder to extreme heat.
•Do not let unauthorized persons interfere with your hob.
•Do not cover your hob while it is still hot.
SURFACES MAY BE HOT!
• Use a proper pot/pan size (with at bottom only) for
each burner (see g. below).
• When the content of the pan starts to boil, turn the
control knob down to “low ame”.
7. Fitting and Changing the Gas Cylinder
Please note! Your gas cylinder and regulator need to be tted by the registered installer when installing your appliance for the rst time.
• After use, turn off the control knob to the off position (“•” - turn fully clockwise) and close the gas cylinder valve.
• Ensure that the gas cylinder is tted or changed in a well-ventilated location away from any source of ignition, such as naked ames
and away from other people.
• Do not smoke while changing the cylinder.
• When you need to replace your empty cylinder, make sure that the gas is closed at the cylinder valve.
Make sure that the hob burners are off and the control valves are closed.
• Remove the regulator from the empty cylinder.
• Avoid twisting the hose whilst connecting the regulator to the new/replacement cylinder.
• Blow out any dust from the cylinder opening to prevent possible blockage of the jet.
• Place the full cylinder in its allocated space and attach the regulator connection to the cylinder.
• Ensure that a complete gas seal has been made (check for the smell of gas around the connection joint). Do not check for leaks with a
naked ame. Use warm soapy water only, applied to the joints and connections of the appliance. Any leakage will show up as bubbles
around the leakage area. If you are in doubt, contact your nearest stockist.

9. Cleaning
• Allow the appliance to cool down before you clean it.
• Use a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of soapy water to clean the exterior and cylinder storage area of your hob.
• Make sure that no water gets onto the burners or pilot/light area. Wipe the hob completely dry before use.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners as they may damage the surfaces.
• Clean the appliance after each use.
• Do not use any high-pressure steam equipment or a water jet to clean the appliance.
10. Maintenance
• If you clean and maintain your appliance on a regular basis, the life of you appliance will extend and possibility of problems will
decrease.
In case of a spattering ame or jet blockage:
• Clean your burner ports in case of an over spill.
• CADAC recommends to clean or replace the jets every six (6) months to ensure continued efcient operation of your appliance.
• This may be done by removing the jet using standard tools and blow any dirt from the jet, alternatively, you may purchase new jets
from your local CADAC store. Do not attempt to clean the jet mechanically.
Service intervals and servicing:
• CADAC recommends the service of your appliance to be every twelve (12) months by a service agent to ensure continued efcient
operation.
• Note: Any technical work on the appliance should only be performed by a qualied technician.
• Check your gas hose and connections regularly for and signs of leaks and every time the gas cylinder is re-lled.

11. Storage
• The appliance should be stored in the installed position. If you remove the appliance, a registered technician must re do the
installation.
• Close the cylinder vlave supplying gas to the applaince, if you remove the cylinder, then disconnect the cylinder.
• Store cylinder in a well-ventilated area away from combustible material. Storage of cylinders should preferably be outdoors in a shaded
or sheltered and must NOT be in a basement.
12. Returning the appliance for Repair, Service & Warranty
• If your appliance needs to be returned under warranty, ensure that a gas practitioner removes the appliance.
• Do not modify the appliance. This may cause the appliance to become unsafe. Any modications will render the CADAC warranty null
and void.
• If you cannot rectify any fault by following these instructions, contact your local CADAC distributor for advise, inspection or repair
instructions.
• Please keep all proof of payments and the installation certicate for warranty purposes, if these can not be supplied then all warranties
will be considered void.

How to replace the jets
Remove the burner top plate and burner base to expose the jet as shown in Fig.1.
Use a spanner or socket to unscrew the M6 jet as shown in Fig.2.
You can now screw the new jet in.

Where to insert and replace the battery.
The battery is used to operate the piezo to ignite the burners. The battery casing is located
beneath the gas hob. Once your unit has been installed and later you need to replace the
battery. You can do this by accessing your hob from below the table top where it is installed.
Note that the battery is a Size D.
INSTALLING THE BATTERY
Insert a DC1.5V battery into the battery compartment in the cover. This battery is the power
supply for the piezo ignition of the gas burners.
Notes for battery installation or replacement:
• Only use a DC1.5Volt battery.
• Check for correct polarity ( label to the side of the battery compartment).

14. Warranty
CADAC (Pty) Ltd hereby warrants to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER of this CADAC gas appliance, that it will be free of defects in material
and workmanship from the date of purchase as follows:
Valves: 2 Years
Plastic parts: No Warranty
Enamel parts: 2 Years
Cast Iron: 2 Years
Painted Frames: 1 Year
Burners: 1 Year
The warranty will only apply if the unit is assembled and operated in accordance with the printed instructions.
CADAC may require reasonable proof of your date of purchase. THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD RETAIN YOUR SALES SLIP OR INVOICE.
This Limited Warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of parts that prove defective under normal use and service and
which on examination shall indicate, to CADAC’s satisfaction, they are defective. Before returning any parts, contact the customer
service representative in your region using the contact information provided with your manual. If CADAC conrms the defect and
approves the claim, CADAC will elect to replace such parts without charge. CADAC will return parts to the purchaser, freight or
postage prepaid.
This Limited Warranty does not cover any failures or operating difculties due to accident, abuse, misuse, alteration, misapplication,
vandalism, improper installation or improper maintenance or service, or failure to perform normal and routine maintenance, including
but not limited to damage caused by insects within the burner tubes, as set out in this owner’s manual.
Deterioration or damage due to severe weather conditions such as hail, hurricanes, earthquakes or tornadoes, discoloration due to
exposure to chemicals either directly or in the atmosphere, is not cover by this Limited Warranty.
There are no other express warrants except as set forth herein and any applicable implied warranties of merchantability and tness are
limited in duration to the period of coverage of this express written Limited Warranty. Some regions do not allow limitation on how
long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.
CADAC is not liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages. Some regions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, to this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
CADAC does not authorize any person or company to assume for it any obligation or liability in connection with the sale, installation,
use, removal, return, or replacement of its equipment; and no such representations are binding on CADAC.
This Warranty applies only to products sold at retail.
To enjoy and ensure longevity of your CADAC product, please refer to the cleaning and maintenance section of the user manual with
particular attention to the care of the Stainless Steel.
