1. Introduction
Thanks for the purchasing of your new 10/100 NWay Fast Ethernet PCI adapter. This document
describes the Installation of network adapter. This adapter supports 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Fast
Ethernet and complies with the electrical and protocol requirements of the PCI Local Bus specification,
revision 2.2.
1.1 Features
The 10/100 Fast Ethernet PCI adapter is a cost effective, high-performance network interface card. It
operates in 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX modes and integrates easily with Fast Ethernet hub and
switch.

1.2 System Requirements
To use the adapter, you need the following components:
yA PCI master mode expansion slot that is compliant with PCI bus specifications, revisions 2.2
yDriver/ Manual CD
yThe following cables:
To operate at 10Mbps, a Category 3, 4, 5 UTP Cable
To operate at 100Mbps, a Category 5 UTP cable
2. Hardware installation
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Remove the computer’s cover, in accordance to its manual.
3. Insert the contact edge of the adapter card into the connector of any available PCI Bus master
expansion slot. Press the card firmly into the connector to PCI slot. Please make sure that the
card’s contacts are fully seated in the PCI slot.
4. Install the bracket screw that secures the card to the Computer chassis.
5. Replace the computer’s cover.
6. Connect the CAT3 or CAT5 UTP cable to the RJ-45 network connector.
7. Remove driver CD from the PC’s CD-ROM drive.
8. Turn on the computer.
9. If the BIOS section of your computer’s boot program is Plug and Play compliant, then at power up
the BIOS will configure any newly installed adapter automatically.
Note:
Due to some Plug-n-Play BIOS programs' problem, it happens occasionally that a newly installed
adapter is assigned an interrupt number that is already used by another device adapter. In such a
case, the conflict of interrupt number will cause faults in the behavior of both devices. Then it is
necessary to run the CMOS Setup utility, and manually assign a non-conflict Interrupt Number.

3. Software installation
Please take the following steps for driver installation. Please note that the drive “E:\” represents your
CD-Rom drive.
Microsoft Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows ME
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Insert the adapter into the available PCI slot.
3. Restart the computer.
4. After Microsoft Windows reboot, the PCI Ethernet Controller will be found.
5. The system will prompt for driver installation.
6. Insert the “Driver and Utilities” CD into CD-ROM drive and press <Enter>.
7. For Windows 95, Key in E:\ path to install driver for the adapter.
8. For Windows 98, Key in E:\w98_2000 path to install driver for the adapter.
9. For Windows ME, Key in E:\winme path to install driver for the adapter.
10. The Windows system will install the driver automatically.
11. Reboot the Windows system.
Windows NT 4.0
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Insert the adapter into the available PCI slot.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Click “Start” menu bar and select “Setting” item then “Control Panel” setting.
5. Select “Network” icon.
6. If this is the first time to install network on the machine then the system will ask “YES” or “NO” to
install network adapter. Please select “YES”.
7. If the computer already install network before then you need to select “Interface” -> “Add”
8. The system will prompt for driver installation.
9. Insert the Driver CD into CD-ROM drive and press <Enter>.
10. Key in E:\winnt path to install driver for the adapter
11. The Windows system will install the driver automatically.
12. Reboot the Windows system.
Microsoft Windows 2000
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Insert the adapter into the available PCI slot.
3. Restart the computer.
4. After Microsoft Windows reboot, the 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter will be found and the
system will assign the default network driver to the adapter.
5. Select “Control Panel” from “Start” menu bar
6. Select “Network and Dial-Up Connection” folder then click “Local Area Connection” and
“Properties”.
7. Click “Configure” item and select “Driver”
8. From the “Driver” item then choose “Update Driver”
9. The system will prompt two optional for driver search, one is auto search and the other is “Display
a list of known drivers ….”. Please select second one “Display …”.
10. The system will prompt for driver installation and please select “Have Disk” button.
11. Key in E:\w98_2000 path to install driver for the adapter

Microsoft Windows XP
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Insert the adapter into the available PCI slot.
3. Restart the computer.
4. After Microsoft Windows reboot, the 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter will be found and the
system will assign the default network driver to the adapter.
5. Select “Control Panel” from “Start” menu bar
6. Select “Network Connection” folder then click “Local Area Connection” and “Properties”.
7. Click “Configure” item and select “Driver”
8. From the “Driver” item then choose “Update Driver”
9. Choose “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” and click “Next”.
10. Select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install” then click “Next”.
11. The system will prompt for driver installation and please select “Have Disk” button.
12. Key in E:\WinXP path to install driver for the adapter.
Microsoft Windows Vista
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Insert the adapter into the available PCI slot.
3. Restart the computer.
4. After Microsoft Windows reboot, the 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter will be found and the
system will assign the default network driver to the adapter.
5. Select “Control Panel” from “Start” menu bar
6. Select System > Device manager > Network Adapters
7. Double click this adapter, select “update driver” button. Click Browse and select computer > your
CD Rom drive> WVISTA32/64. Click OK to start installation.
8. Wait while installation and close this window.

Cet appareil a été testé et répond aux normes des appareils numériques de classe B conformément
aux règles de la partie 15 de la FCC (Federal Communication Commission). Ces limites garantissent
une protection raisonnable contre les interférences dans une zone résidentielle. Cet équipement

1. Présentation
Félicitations, vous venez de faire l’acquisition de la carte réseau 10/100 Nway Fast Ethernet PCI. Cet
adaptateur supporte les interfaces Ethernet 10BASE-T et 100BASE-TX. Il fonctionne sur un port local
PCI de 32bits rev 2.2.
1.1 Propriétés
La carte réseau Fast Ethernet PCI s’intègre parfaitement au sein de votre réseau Ethernet ou Fast
Ethernet grâce à sa compatibilité avec les modes 10BASE-T et 100BASE-TX.

1.2 Système requis
Matériels requis pour l’installation et l’utilisation de l’adaptateur réseau :
yUn emplacement PCI compatible aux caractérisques PCI 32bits rev. 2.2
yUn lecteur de CD-ROM, le CD-ROM d’installation (contenant les pilotes et manuel)
yCaractéristiques du câble :
Pour un réseau 10Mbps, utiliser un câble UTP de Catégorie 3, 4, 5.
Pour un réseau 100Mbps, utiliser un câble UTP de Catégorie 5
2. Installation matérielle
1. Éteindre l’ordinateur.
2. Retirer le couvercle du boîtier (voir manuel du constructeur).
3. Identifier un port PCI libre parmi les ports disponibles de l’ordinateur. Puis insérer fermement la
carte réseau en veillant à ce que la surface de contact soit immergée sous le port PCI.
4. Installer la vis de fixation afin de consolider la carte avec le châssis.
5. Remettre le couvercle du boîtier.
6. Raccorder la carte réseau à votre équipement réseau (routeur, commutateurs ou modem…) à
l’aide d’un câble Ethernet CAT3/4 ou CAT5 UTP.
7. Mettre l’ordinateur en marche.
8. Si le programme de démarrage du BIOS de l’ordinateur est compatible Plug and Play, les
nouveaux périphériques sont reconnus automatiquement et prêts à l’emploi.
Important :
Le contrôleur d’interruption du BIOS peut assigner par erreur un numéro de requête d’interruption
(IRQ) déjà utilisé par un autre périphérique. Dans ce cas, le conflit d’IRQ peut causer le
dysfonctionnement des deux périphériques concernés. Il sera donc nécessaire de configurer les
adressages IRQ manuellement de la configuration du BIOS (voir le manuel du constructeur). Le conflit
d’adressage d’IRQ peut parfois être résolu en insérant le nouveau périphérique sur un autre port PCI.

3. Installation logicielle
Veuillez suivre les étapes d’installation suivantes. Notez que “E:\” représente le lecteur de CD-ROM
(remplacez-la par la lettre de votre lecteur si elle est différente.)
Microsoft Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows ME
1. Éteignez l’ordinateur.
2. Insérez la carte réseau dans un emplacement PCI libre.
3. Mettez l’ordinateur en marche.
4. Après le démarrage de Microsoft Windows, la carte réseau Ethernet PCI sera détectée.
5. Le système exécute alors l’assistant d’installation du nouveau matériel.
6. Insérez le CD-ROM dans le lecteur de CD-ROM et appuyez sur <Entrer>.
7. Pour Windows 95, définissez le chemin E:\Win95 pour l’emplacement des pilotes d’installation.
8. Pour Windows 98 et Millénium, définissez le chemin E:\W98&ME pour l’emplacement des pilotes
d’installation.
9. Le système d’exploitation Windows installera automatiquement les pilotes.
10. Redémarrez Windows.
Windows NT 4.0
1. Éteignez l’ordinateur.
2. Insérez la carte réseau dans un emplacement PCI libre.
3. Mettez l’ordinateur en marche.
4. Cliquez sur le menu « Démarrer » et sélectionnez « Paramètres » puis cliquez sur « Panneau de
configuration »
5. Double-cliquez sur l’icône « Réseau ».
6. S’il s’agit de la première installation d’un réseau sur l’ordinateur, l’installation d’un adaptateur
réseau vous sera demandée. Cliquez alors sur « Oui ».
7. Si un réseau a déjà été installé sur l’ordinateur auparavant, sélectionnez « Interface » puis
« Ajouter ».
8. L’assistant d’installation des pilotes s’exécute alors.
9. Insérez le CD-ROM dans le lecteur de CD-ROM et appuyer sur <Entrer>.
10. Définissez le chemin E:\Winnt pour l’emplacement des pilotes d’installation.
11. Le système d’exploitation Windows installera automatiquement les pilotes.
12. Redémarrez Windows.
Microsoft Windows 2000 et XP
1. Éteignez l’ordinateur.
2. Insérez la carte réseau dans un emplacement PCI libre.
3. Mettez l’ordinateur en marche.
4. Après le démarrage de Microsoft Windows, la carte réseau Ethernet PCI sera détectée et se verra
attribuée un pilote générique par défaut.
5. Cliquez sur « Panneau de configuration » depuis le menu « Démarrer »
6. Sélectionnez sur le dossier « Connexions réseau et accès à distance » puis cliquez sur
« Connexion au réseau local » ensuite sur « Propriétés ».
7. Cliquez sur bouton « Configurer » et sélectionnez l’onglet « Pilote »
8. Depuis l’onglet « Pilotes », cliquez sur le bouton « Mettre à jour le pilote »
9. Deux méthode d’installation vous seront proposées, la première est une recherche automatique,
la seconde est une installation « à partir d’une liste ou d’un emplacement ». Sélectionnez
l’installation depuis un emplacement.
10. Il vous sera demandé d’insérer le CD-ROM lors de l’installation des pilotes.
11. Définissez le chemin E:\WinXP2K&XP64 pour l’emplacement des pilotes d’installation. Puis
poursuivez l’installation.

Microsoft Windows Vista
1. Éteignez l’ordinateur.
2. Insérez la carte réseau dans un emplacement PCI libre.
3. Mettez l’ordinateur en marche.
4. Après le démarrage de Microsoft Windows, la carte réseau Ethernet PCI sera détectée et se verra
attribuée un pilote générique par défaut.
5. Cliquez sur « Panneau de configuration » depuis le menu « Démarrer ».
6. Sélectionnez Système > Gestionnaire de périphériques > Cartes réseau.
7. Effectuez un clique droit sur l’adaptateur réseau, cliquez sur « Mettre à jour ce pilote logiciel ».
8. Deux méthodes de recherche vous seront proposées, la première est une recherche automatique,
la seconde est une recherche à partir d’un emplacement sur l’ordinateur. Sélectionnez
« Rechercher un pilote logiciel sur mon ordinateur ».
9. Définissez le chemin pour l’emplacement des pilotes d’installation. Si vous utilisez un
environnement Windows Vista 32bits, utilisez le dossier « E:\WVISTA32 ». Pour Windows Vista
64bits, utilisez le dossier « E:\WVISTA64 ». Poursuivez l’installation en suivant les instructions à
l’écran.
