CHAPTER 4 GUIDE TO OPERATION
4.1 INSTALLATIONS
Startingthedrive.
OTumon the powersupply.
@Pressthe eject button.The tray isejectedfrom the drive.
@Placethe disc inthe tray with thedisc's labelfacing up.
@Pressthe eject buttonor pressthe tray lightlyas inthefollowingfigure.
Thetray is retractedautomatically.
@ Loadingstart.
Notice:
Do not insert any foreign objects into the disc tray. This could result in a
malfunction.
Do not manuallyforce thetray to open.
When the drive is notin use, keepthetray closed to protectagainstdust and
dirt.
Do not press down hard on the tray when loading a disc, since this may
resultindamageto or malfunctionof the tray.
Incaseof emergency, eject thetray manually
Iffor some reasonthe tray will noteject automatically, press Min. 45mm
the eiect-bar (for example, insert a straightened paper clip

minimumstrabht length = 45mm, Diameter = 1 - 2mm) into
the emergency eject hole to manuallyeject the tray. (Before
proceeding with this emergency step, make sure that the

CHAPTER 7 BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE
7.1 PlCK UPCLEANING
After long-term use of the CD-ROM drive, dust on the pick-up objective lens can
cause detenoration of optical performance. To remove dust from the lens, this
CD-ROMdrive has an automatic cleaning mechanism. Load and eject the tray and
then start the automatic cleaning mechanism. The periodicalcleaningisdesirableto
maintaindriveperformance.
7.2 TROUBLESHOOTlNG
(1) There are many kinds of problemscaused by misuse. When a problem occurs,
check the table below which describes possible problems occumng with your
CD-ROM.
(2) If the CD-ROM is not operating correctly and you cannot restore operation by
followingthe detailedprocedures in the table below, do not remove the cover of
the unitsor adjustfurther.
(3) In the case of (2) above, unplug the unit and consult with your dealer or the
nearestservice station.
