1. SelectthemountinglocationsfortheDevice and Antenna. DonotmounttheDevice or
theAntennaunderthehoodorexposetooutsideelements.
2. Makesurethe“SIMCardLock”ispositionedtothelockedposition(totheleft). The
device willnotobtainacellularconnectionifitisnotinthelockedposition.
3. TheAntennaisdesignedtomountinsidethevehicle. The“AIRWARD”emblem
representsthetopoftheAntenna, andmustface up (skyward). Thesidewiththe
adhesive(3MTape)mustface downifitisasquareantenna. NOTE:Ifyouareusinga
roundantennathesidewiththeadhesive(3MTape)mustbeup.Itisstrongly
recommendedthattheAntennabemountedunderthevehicledashinahiddenlocation
withlineofsighttotheskythroughthewindshield. TheAntennawillnotworkiftheline
ofsightisblockedbymetal. Makesuretheglassdoesnothaveanymetalfilmatbaseas
thatwillblocktheGPS signal. Theantennamustnotbeincontactwithanything metallic,
orcoveredbyanymetallicobjectstoworkproperlyDonotcrimporrouteantenna
cables. Usecautionwhenusing tie-strapsfortheantenna. Overtighteningcouldcutoff
thesignaltothedevice. Adhesiveislocatedontheantennatosecureplacement.
Adhesivessuchastwosidedstickytape, Velcro, andsiliconeareoftenusedtosecure
placementoftheantenna. Twosidedsticktapecanweakenunderprolongedexposureto
extremeheatcausingtheantennatofallandturnupsidedowncausing“OldGPS Data”
information.
4. WIRING CONNECTIONS.(Makeconnections, butdonotplug intoDevice)

e. BLUE WIRE-PositivePTOinputwire. Thiswiremustrestatgroundandgohighto
operatecorrectly.

5. Hand-tightenAntennaconnectors to“GPS ANT”and“MODEMANT”outletson
Device. Donotpowerthedevice withouttheGSMconnectorsecuredtothedevice.

Poweringup theDevicewithouttheGSMconnectorsecuredmayresultinproduct
failure.
6. Plug insuppliedwireharnesstoDevice. Ground/Blackwireshouldbeonfarleftside
ofDevicematching to(Ground)onDevicefrontpanel. MatchPower/RedwiretoVIN
(VoltageIN)onDevice.
7. MakesurethevehicleisparkedoutsideandhasaclearviewofthehorizonforGPS to
“lockin”.
8. ObserveLEDstatus toconfirmproperinstallationandifdeviceisreceiving GPS/GSM
signals
PWR=thisLEDwillmovetoasolidREDstateassoonasthedevice receivesconstant
power
USR2=GPS signal. WhentheGPS haslockedon,thisLEDwillmovetoasolidRED
state.Itmaytakeup tofifteenminutes tolockon,althoughgenerallylessthanfive
minutes.
USR1=GSM/Cellularstatus.ThisLEDshouldmovetoasolidGREENstatewithinone
minuteoftheDevicebeing poweredup.
