Waste Disposal Advice
Packaging from your new machine
Dispose of all packaging materials properly.
Packaging materials are not toys.
Processing and reuse saves raw materials and reduces
waste volumes.
The packaging can be returned to the retailer or supplier.
All packaging materials used are environmentally friendly
and reusable. All card is made of 80 - 100 % recycled
paper.
Wood is not chemically treated. Films are made of poly-
ethylene (PE), banding is made of polypropylene (PP) and
the CFC-free padding is made of polystyrol (PS) foam.
These materials are pure hydrocarbon compounds and
are recyclable.
Old Machines
Worn out machines should be made unusable:
After unplugging the machine or after an electrician has
removed the connection, cut through and remove the
mains cable. Destroy or remove the door lock so that
playing children cannot become locked in and put their
lives at risk.
The old machine contains valuable materials which should
be sent for recycling. Ensure that your old machine is di-
sposed of properly.
Addresses of recycling or collection sites for the disposal
of old machines can be obtained from your local autho-
rity.
Please help to ensure environmentally friendly disposal
and recycling.
Safety Advice and Warnings
This machine meets the stringent safety regulations for
electronic devices.
Before using the machine:
Read the enclosed documents carefully before using your
washing machine.
They contain important information on the installation,
use and safety of the machine.
Repairs should only be carried out by trained specialists.
Incorrect repairs may cause considerable damage and
risks to the user.
Keep the documents safe for other users or subsequent
owners.
Install the machine according to the installation
instructions.
Remove the transport packaging and keep it safely.
Do not plug in a machine with visible damage. In case
of doubt, ask customer services or your retailer.
When washing laundry:
Do not leave children unattended with the machine.
Keep pets away from the machine.
Only use the machine in the home for washing machine-
washable fabrics in laundry detergent.
Do not touch the door window when washing at high
temperatures.
Check that the pump cover is in place and firmly screwed
down.
At the end of the programme:
Do not reach into the rotating drum.
Turn off the water supply.
If the power supply is switched off without turning off
the water supply, the built in overflow protection will no
longer work.
To protect your machine:
Do not climb on the machine.
Do not sit, lean or support yourself on the loading door
(it could tip!).
When transporting your machine:
Fit the transport packaging.
Take care when transporting the machine (risk of injury)!.
Do not lift the machine by the fittings on the front!
Environment and Economy Advice
Your laundry will be most environmentally friendly and
economical if you fill the machine with the maximum
laundry load. Do not exceed the maximum stated laun-
dry load. See standard programmes, page 9.
Save water, energy and detergent:
Do not use pre-wash for normally soiled laundry.
Save energy and time:
Press the «Express» button for lightly soiled laundry.
Save detergent:
Use the right amount of detergent for your local water
hardness, the level of soiling and the size of the load,
and follow the instructions on the detergent packet.

Detergent Drawer
XPull out the detergent drawer until it reaches the stop.
Add detergent or conditioner to sections I, II or :
Section I: Detergent for prewash and soaking.
Section II: Detergent for the main wash, bleach, modu-
lar detergent, starch, water softener for soap programme.
Section : Conditioning additives for the last rinse,
e.g. fabric softener.
The divider in Section II can be moved for different types
and quantities of detergent. If you use small quantities of
washing powder, e.g. compact detergent:
XPull the divider forward. The arrow on the divider po-
ints to the symbol .
If you use large quantities of washing powder or tablets:
XPush the divider all the way back (supplied in this
position).
The arrow on the divider points to the symbol .
If you use liquid detergent:
XPull the divider forward to the stop and press it down.
The arrow on the divider points to the symbol .
The scale on the divider helps you to measure your liquid
detergent.
Note
Use a dosing ball for liquid detergents for washing pro-
grammes using the time preselect, placing it inside the
drum with the laundry (see page 7.)
Liquid Container (for impregnation)
Required for the special programme.
XPull out the detergent drawer until it reaches the stop.
Place the liquid container in sections Ior II:
Liquid container in Section I: spirit vinegar for
impregnation.
Liquid container in Section II: impregnating product,
liquid detergent for the special programme.
Do not use for tablets, concentrates and powder
detergents!
Detergents and Conditioners
You can use all powder, compact (concentrated), tablet and
liquid detergents commonly available for use in automatic
washing machines.
Use the right detergent for the type and colour of your
fabrics:
z
Strong detergent for whites
z
Coloured detergent for coloureds
z
Gentle detergent for synthetics, viscose and microfibre
z
Wool detergent for wool, silk and outerwear.
Use the divider for liquid detergent in the detergent dra-
wer or use dosing aids such as dosing balls or bags supp-
lied with the detergent.
6

Under no circumstances use cleaning products containing
solvents. There is a risk that parts of the machine could
be damaged and poisonous vapour released. There is
also a risk of fire and explosion.
Fabrics which have been treated with cleaning products
containing solvents must be rinsed well by hand in clear
water before washing.
Only use water softeners, dyes and dye removers and ot-
her additives which clearly state in their manufacturers'
instructions that they are suitable for use in automatic
washing machines. Follow the appropriate instructions
carefully.
Only add laundry starch in the final rinse (conditioner),
because there is a risk of explosion at other stages of the
wash.
Keep laundry detergents and additives out of the reach of
children.
Store laundry detergents, aids and other additives in a
dry, cool place, as clumpy detergent can lead to functio-
nal problems.
Detergent Dosing
Only the right dose leads to good washing results. Pay
attention to the dosage recommendations on the
detergent pack. Ensure that the quantities stated on the
pack are for full drum loads. Reduce the quantity for
smaller loads.
The amount of detergent required depends on:
zthe hardness of the water,
if you don't know, ask your local authority.
Use the right amount of detergent for your water
hardness.
zhow dirty the laundry is
zlight soiling;
no noticeable marks and stains, e.g. the clothes just smell
of body odour.
Reduce the amount of detergent according to the
recommended dose.
Wash these fabrics on the Express programme.
znormal soiling;
visible marks and a few light stains. Use the normal dose
according to the recommendations. Wash these fabrics
on the Standard programme.
zheavy soiling;
clearly noticeable marks and stains. Use a higher dose
according to the recommendations. Stains may need to
be pre-treated or soaked, fabrics may be prewashed or
washed on the Intensive programme.
zthe amount of washing,
reduce the amount of detergent by a third if the drum is
only half full.
Watch out:
zToo little detergent;
usually only noticeable after several washes with
insufficient detergent,
leaves the washing grey or not clean,
leaves the washing hard (stiff),
can leave grey-brown spotty stains (grease) on laundry,
can lead to scaled heating elements.
zToo much detergent leads to;
poor washing results,
excessive detergent foaming and problems,
high water consumption and costs,
extended washing programmes,
unnecessary pollution.
Soap-based detergents
Your washing machine has a special programme for was-
hing with soap-based detergents, which you can select in
the basic programme settings (see page 19).
Because soap does not contain anything to prevent lime-
scale, you should only use it with soft or medium-hard
water, together with a separate water softener.
Otherwise, limescale and soap residue can build up in the
machine, which will be deposited on laundry in the form
of grease spots or as limescale on the heating element.
Liquid detergent and start time preselection
(for start time preselection see page 14).
When using start time preselection, use a dosing ball for
liquid detergent or the additional liquid container for the
detergent drawer. If poured directly into the detergent
drawer, liquid detergent slowly runs out and thickens. If
this happens several times, it can lead to blockages due
to detergent deposits.
Remove the dosing ball at the end of the programme!
The additional liquid container is not suitable for particu-
larly thick detergents.
Water softeners
Special water softening products may be used for water
in the hardness range 2 - 4 (13-37° fH). Follow the
instructions on the packet!
In these cases, use the amount of detergent specified for
hardness level 1 (0-12° fH). Add the detergent and then
the water softener in the same section of the drawer to
ensure that the water softener is washed in properly.
Soaking
Add soaking detergent to section Iof the detergent dra-
wer. Select a soaking programme (See page 19).
Fabric conditioner, starch
Add to section . Do not fill beyond the «Max» mark,
because otherwise the conditioner will be rinsed in with
the detergent at the start of the programme and not du-
ring the rinse cycle. Thick conditioner should be diluted
with water and stirred until there are no lumps before
adding to the drawer, so that it does not block the over-
flow.
Bleach, stain remover
Powder bleach and stain removers can be added for fa-
brics with bleachable stains.
First add the detergent and then the bleach powder or
stain remover in section II of the drawer. This ensures
that the product is washed in better.
7

Spirit vinegar
Spirit vinegar is used to prepare laundry for impregnation.
Impregnation products
Clothing can be impregnated evenly and durably by using
impregnation products in the washing machine.
Breathable weather gear such as GoreTex or SympaTex
should only be treated with special impregnation
products designed for them. Otherwise, there is a dan-
ger that the breathable membrane will be blocked.
Washing Advice
Sorting your laundry
Do not exceed the maximum load,
because overfilling affects the washing result and can lead
to fabric damage. Pay attention to the care symbols on
your fabrics.
Laundry bearing the following care symbol should not be
washed in the machine:
zDo not wash
Sort your laundry according to fabric and level of soiling.
Sort your laundry by colour. Wash white and coloured
laundry separately, or white washing will turn grey.
Do not wash new coloured fabrics with other laundry.
There is a risk the dye could run!
Knitwear made of or containing wool should be identi-
fied with the words «no felting», «non-felting» or «ma-
chine washable». Otherwise there is a risk your wool
could turn to felt in the wash!
Tips for washing
XRemove foreign bodies, e.g. safety pins, paperclips, co-
ins, etc. from your washing.
XBrush sand out of pockets and cuffs.
XDo up all zips, hooks and eyes and Velcro fastenings.
XButton up duvet covers and pillowcases and tie fabric
belts or apron strings together.
XWash particularly delicate laundry, e.g. fine stockings
or curtains, or small items, e.g. socks or handkerchiefs, in
a laundry net or pillowcase.
XTurn trousers, knitwear or knitted textiles, e.g. jersey
underwear, t-shirts, sweatshirts, inside out.
XWhen washing bras, ensure that they are machine
washable.
Wash underwired bras in a fine laundry net, as the wires
may come loose during washing and can fall through the
holes in the drum and damage the machine.
Stain removal
Stains should be removed or at least pre-treated immedi-
ately if possible, or at least while they are still fresh.
Try first with soap and water. Do not rub the fabric, just
pat it.
Stubborn and dried in stains can sometimes only be re-
moved after washing several times or soaking.
Start-up
Install the machine according to the installation
instructions.
First wash cycle (without laundry)
Run the first wash cycle without laundry, to remove any
water remaining from testing during the manufacturing
process.
1. Check that the transport packaging on the rear of the
machine has been removed (see installation instructions).
2. Turn on the water supply.
3. Pull out the detergent drawer until it reaches its stop.
4. Add half a scoop of all purpose detergent to section II
(on the left).
Do not use gentle or wool detergent, because it will pro-
duce too much foam.
5. Select the «Coloureds 60°» button.
6. Press the start button. The programme should start.
7. After the end of the programme, the machine is ready
for use.

guidelines, determined under standard conditions.
Fluctuations of up to 10 % are possible.
Reduced mains power
For machines with reduced mains electrical power, the
programme times will be correspondingly longer.
Hot water connection
For washing machines with hot water connections, the
following should be noted:
The maximum permitted hot water temperature is 70° C.
zOnly cold water is used for the prewash and wool
wash programmes.
zFor temperatures above 30° C, the water is automati-
cally mixed to obtain the programmed wash temperature.
zA programme with prewash should be selected for
fabrics with blood or other protein stains, so that the
stains are washed out below 30° C and not fixed into the
fabric at higher temperatures in the main wash process.

Special programmes
Hand wash 20°C
XFabrics made of hand washable wool or wool mixtures.
Silk 30° C
XHand-washable fabrics which do not contain wool.
Fine stockings and bras should be washed in a laundry bag.
Outerwear 30° C
This programme can be used to wash particularly
delicate washable clothing, e.g. woollen trousers, gabar-
dine, skirts, blouses, jackets. The creasing and wrinkling
is reduced by a special mechanism. The addition of a sui-
table finishing product, e.g. ironing aid during the condi-
tioning phase, makes further processing of the clothing
much easier.
Clothing with inserts, stuffing or padding should not be
washed - there is a risk of shrinkage.
Pre-treatment: heavy stains e.g. fat, sun cream, lipstick or
cosmetics, require suitable pre-treatment. The use of a
stain proofing spray bearing the wool mark is recommen-
ded for outerwear.
Mesh items must be washed on the wool programme.
XAdd wool detergent to the wash in the additional
liquid container in section II of the detergent drawer or in
a dosing ball.
Sportswear 30° C
This programme is also suitable for weather gear, sports
and leisure jackets as well as modern clothing made of
microfibre or with a high microfibre content, e.g. GoreTex
or SympaTex.
Pre-treatment: heavy stains e.g. fat, sun cream, lipstick or
cosmetics, require suitable pre-treatment.
For greasy stains, rub liquid gentle detergent directly into
the stain with your fingers.
Do not scrub - you could damage the fabric!
Leave to work for around 5 minutes and then wash the
items in the washing machine.
Only use a gentle detergent for GoreTex and SympaTex.
XWhen using a gentle detergent, place the additional
liquid container in section II of the detergent drawer or
use a dosing ball with the laundry.
Do not use fabric softener.
This can block the breathable membranes and prevent suc-
cessful subsequent impregnation.
12

Impregnation 30° C
This programme is suitable for the simple and efficient
impregnation of sports and leisure clothing, e.g. tracksu-
its, down jackets and winter clothing.
The special process ensures even and lasting
impregnation.
Microfibre fabrics, GoreTex and SympaTex
should only be treated with special impregnation
products designed for them. If ordinary impregnation
products are used, there is a risk that the breathable
membranes will be blocked.
Pre-treatment: the clothing to be impregnated must be
washed thoroughly first.
XPull out the detergent drawer until it reaches the stop.
Place the additional liquid containers in sections I and II
of the detergent drawer.
XAdd liquid detergent to section Iwith 160 ml spirit vi-
negar - the vinegar is used to prepare the laundry for im-
pregnation.
XFill the liquid container in section II of the drawer with
320 ml of the impregnation product, or according to the
product manufacturer's instructions.
XClose the detergent drawer carefully. If the drawer is
closed too quickly it is possible that the impregnation
product and the spirit vinegar will enter the washing
machine together. In this case, impregnation will be
impossible..
Curtains 40° C
XMixed fibre fabrics
Wash programme with high water level for wash and
rinse and low speed spin.
XWhen washing curtains, place metal rings or plastic
hooks in a laundry net or bag (cushion cover).
Older curtains are often very bleached by the sun and no
longer very resistant. Machine washing can therefore
cause slight damage.
To prevent creasing at the end of the programme, it is
advisable to use the rinse stop function (see page 14).
Nappies 95° C
XWhite and colourfast cotton.
zThis programme starts with a cold rinse, followed by a
prewash at 60° C. The main wash temperature is 95° C.
Spinning
XFor spinning fabrics (without rinsing).
XThe spin speed settings can be altered using the «spin
speed / rinse stop»button. (See page 14).
Please note the spin speed!
Additional programmes
X
See page 10 for selecting additional programmes.
Alongside the various standard wash programmes, your
machine offers you the opportunity to design your own
programmes.
By selecting one or more additional functions, you can
tailor your wash programme to the specifics of your
laundry.
X
You also have the opportunity to tailor your machine to
your needs by changing the basic settings (see page 17).
Express programme
Express programme for lightly soiled fabrics. Reduces the
washing time.
For small loads of washing or light soiling, reduce the
amount of detergent used according to the recommended
dosage.
Gentle programme
For easy care and particularly sensitive fabrics made of
cotton, mixed fibres, synthetics.
Prewash
For particularly heavily soiled laundry, bad stains or occu-
pational laundry (e.g. blood or oil stains, nappies).
The wash temperature is 30°C.
Add ¼ of the detergent to section I.
Caution: There is no prewash on wool programmes to
protect the fibres.
Intensive
This programme is for heavily soiled fabrics, especially
those with bleachable stains (e.g. fruit, coffee, tea, red
wine).
The intensive programme can be used for boil or colou-
red washes as well as for easy care fabrics. The wash
time will be extended.
Note
zThe intensive, express and prewash programmes are
mutually exclusive, which is why only one of these addi-
tional programmes can be selected.
Easy Care
This programme reduces the formation of creases and
wrinkles by using a higher water level, slow cooling of
the detergent solution and gentle spinning. It can be
used with boil, coloured and fine washes, as well as with
programmes for easy care laundry.

Additional functions
X
See page 10 for selecting additional functions
Start time preselect
By pressing the «Start time preselect» button one or
more times, the programme start time can be delayed by
up to 23,5 hours.
This makes it possible to take advantage of cheaper
night-time electricity, for example. The start time and
consequently also the end time of a programme can be
tailored to your individual lifestyle.
The start time and the anticipated programme end time
are shown on the display.
The preselected time starts when the start button is
pressed.
When the start time is reached, the selected programme
starts automatically. The current programme duration will
be displayed.
Note
zThe start time preselect only works if no soaking pro-
gramme has been selected (see also page 17).
zIn the event of a power cut, the current time is saved.
The duration of the power cut is not taken into account.
zWhen using start time preselection, use a dosing ball
for liquid detergent. If poured directly into the detergent
drawer, liquid detergent slowly runs out and thickens. If
this happens several times, it can lead to blockages due
to detergent deposits.
Reducing the temperature
Pressing the «Wash Temperature» button several
times reduces the wash temperature in 10°C stages
(15°C stages above 80°C).
The new temperature will be displayed. It can also be
changed during the first two minutes of the programme.
The lower temperature is compensated by an extension
of the post-wash time, which achieves the same result for
less energy.
Spin speed
This function is used to select a lower spin speed or rinse
stop (see below) to be gentle to the laundry, e.g. for sen-
sitive fabrics. The normal spin speed will be used without
any spin speed reduction. See «Spin speed reduction» on
page 18. This depends on the programme chosen.
Pressing this button once shows the pre-programmed
spin speed on the digital display.
This can be reduced in 200 or 100 rpm increments by
pressing the button several times. The lowest possible
spin speed is 400 rpm. The spin speed can also be chan-
ged during a programme, although not during the spin
phase.
Increased spin speed
If the spin speed button is pressed again after «Rinse
stop», a higher spin speed (1800 rpm) can be chosen.
The washing will be spun harder.
Economy advice
If the washing is to be dried in a tumble drier, select a
high spin speed, as well spun washing takes significantly
less energy and time to dry in a tumble dryer.
Rinse stop
The «Rinse stop» function is used to avoid creasing of
sensitive fabrics. The laundry is held in the last rinse wa-
ter. Select rinse stop by reducing the spin speed until you
see «rinse stop» on the display.
You can end the programme by draining the laundry
without spinning or by spinning (see page 11).
Fast forward
The programme can be shortened or interrupted by
pressing the fast forward button.
X(See interrupting the programme on page 11).
This button can also be used to select special
programmes.

Maintenance / Care / Cleaning
Cleaning the machine
Ensure that the power supply is switched off before any
cleaning, care or maintenance work.
Under no circumstances spray the machine with water.
Do not use solvents! These substances can damage parts
of the machine, produce poisonous vapour and carry the
risk of explosion.
Casings and control areas should only be cleaned with
soap or a commercially available, solvent-free, non-abra-
sive cleaning product.
The side walls of machines with a chrome steel finish
should not be cleaned with chrome steel cleaner under
any circumstances.
Descaling the machine
If the correct amounts of detergent are used, descaling is
no longer necessary in general.
Descalers contain acids, can attack parts of the machine
and cause discolouration of laundry. If you do, however,
wish to descale the machine, follow the manufacturer's
instructions on the packet.
Limescale formation depends largely on the hardness of
the water. To avoid water damage, we recommend ha-
ving this checked by a specialist after around 5 years of
fault-free operation.
Cleaning the drum
Rust marks caused by metal parts standing still for
lengthy periods can be removed with a chlorine-free
cleaning product (look at the description of the
ingredients on the pack).
Never use steel wool!
Water supply hose
Only for machines without Aquastop. To avoid water da-
mage, we recommend having this checked by a specialist
after around 5 years of fault-free operation.
Frost protection
If the machine is in a room susceptible to frost, all
residual water must be removed from the detergent
pump, water supply and drain hoses.
Emptying the detergent pump
See «Emergency emptying» page 16.
Emptying the water supply hose
zTurn off the water supply.
zUnscrew the hose from the tap, place it in a bowl,
select any wash programme and run it for around 40 se-
conds, before interrupting it with the fast forward button.
zScrew the hose back into the tap.
Cleaning the detergent drawer
1. Pull the detergent drawer out until it stops.
2. Press down in the middle of the softener section cover,
and pull the drawer all the way out.
3. Remove the divider.
4.
Clean the chambers and insert under running water.
5. Replace the divider in the detergent drawer.

4.
Clean the liquid container and siphon under running water.
5. Remove any dirt, e.g. detergent residue with a suitable
cleaning device, e.g. nylon brush.
6. Replace the siphon in the liquid container. If required,
replace it in the detergent drawer.
Notentleerung
Eine Notentleerung ist notwendig, wenn:
zDie Störungsmeldung «Wasserablauf prüfen und
starten» erscheint.
zDie Pumpe durch Fremdkörper (z.B. Knöpfe, Klammern,
Flusen) blockiert ist und das Wasser nicht abgepumpt wird.
zBei verstopfter Pumpe können bis zu 20 Liter Wasser
auslaufen. Stellen Sie einen Eimer bereit.
Verbrühungsgefahr! Heisse Waschlauge abkühlen lassen.
Emptying procedure
1.
Switch off the mains power supply
2. Remove the plinth cover on the front of the machine.
Turn the catches on the plinth cover using a coin or screw-
driver. The slots must be horizontal. Place your hands
under the centre of the plinth cover, press upwards slightly
and pull.
3. Pull out the drain hose, remove the stopper and run the
water into a container. Repeat the process several times if
necessary.
4. Replace the stopper in the drain hose and return it to its
clips.
5. Remove the pump cover.
6. Remove foreign bodies and fluff. Clean the inside of the
pump. The vanes of the pump must be able to turn.

9.
Switch the mains power back on.
10. Select a wash programme and, as soon as the machine
has finished filling, end the programme with the fast
forward button.
This ensures that detergent is not wasted by flowing
straight into the drain system on the next wash.
Cleaning the filters in the water inlet
The filters in the water inlet must be cleaned if no water
or insufficient water flows into the machine when the tap
is turned on. The error message «Check water inlet and
start» is displayed. The filters are located in the hose
fitment and on the back of the machine.
Cleaning procedure
1. Turn off the water supply.
2. Select a programme, start it, and after around 20
seconds, end the programme using the fast forward but-
ton. This reduces the water pressure in the inlet hose.
3. Only disconnect the hose from the tap.
4. Remove the filter with a pair of flat pliers, clean it and re-
place it.
5. Reconnect the hose.
6. Turn on the tap and ensure that there are no leaks.

Advice for testing bodies and users
In the goods declaration, this washing extractor was
awarded the top grade A in the washing effectiveness
category according to the Energy Label classification un-
der the EN 60456 standards programme. However, from
the factory, it is set up with standard wash programmes
developed especially to meet Swiss consumer needs,
although modern fabrics can be washed on shorter pro-
grammes thanks to today’s wearing and washing charac-
teristics. However, the standard programme times accor-
ding to the Energy Label can be set using the extended
basic settings by setting the wash time reduction
parameter to Off.
zThe machine is now basically set to the longer wash
times according to the Energy Label.

Problems
Repairs, alterations or intervention on electronic
equipment should only be carried out by qualified specia-
lists. Inexpert repairs can cause considerable damage and
risk to the user.
Only original spare parts should be used for repairs.
Rectifying minor faults yourself
The machine does not start after pressing a
programme button:
XCheck whether the mains power is switched on at the
wall and the plug is in.
XCheck whether all the fuses are intact or the safety
switch has tripped.
The machine does not start:
XThe start button has not been pressed.
XStart time preselect has been set. Only starts at the
preselected start time.
Detergent residue in the detergent drawer:
XDamp or clumpy detergent.
Dry the detergent drawer before adding detergent (for
cleaning, see page 15). Use dosing aids for compact or
liquid detergents. Add the detergent to the dosing aid
and put it in the drum with the laundry.
XThe divider for liquid detergent has been pressed
down. Move the divider to the position for powder de-
tergent (see page 6).
Water not visible during wash:
XNot a fault! The water is below the visible level in the
machine.
Poor wash result:
XLevel of soiling was higher than usual.
XChange type and amount of detergent.
XSelect the maximum permitted temperature for the fabric.
XSelect a stronger wash programme.
Detergent residue on the washing:
XThis is not due to poor rinse performance of your was-
hing machine, but insoluble residues found in a few
phosphate-free detergents, which tend to be deposited
as pale specks on laundry.
XRemedy: dry and brush off or repeat the whole rinse
process immediately. Change detergent if necessary.
Grey residue on the washing:
XThe normal amount of detergent is not always
sufficient for soiling from ointments, fats or oils, increase
the amount for the next wash.
Remedy: select the maximum permitted temperature for
the fabrics.
Grey stains on the washing:
XThese stains may be caused by cosmetics or fabric sof-
tener and may have appeared on the laundry outside the
machine before washing.
Remedy: some stains can be washed out after soaking in
liquid detergent.
Foam is visible after the last rinse:
XSome detergents tend to produce more foam, which
does not affect the rinse results.
Pump noise:
XNot a fault! The noises from the pump when filling
and pumping out are normal.
Repeated spinning:
XThe imbalance control system detected an imbalance
and is rectifying the imbalance by spinning repeatedly.
19

Poor spin results:
XThe imbalance control system detected an imbalance
which could not be rectified. With small loads or critical
laundry such as bathroom textiles, the laundry is not suffi-
ciently distributed. The spin speed is reduced according
to the load and imbalance, to protect the machine from
overloading.
Vibrations when washing and spinning:
XThe transport packaging has not been removed.
Follow the advice in the installation instructions!
XThe machine's feet were not fixed during installation.
Reset the machine with a spirit level, secure the feet ac-
cording to the installation instructions.
The door cannot be opened:
XProgramme has not finished yet.
X«Rinse stop» was selected (see page 13).
The door can be opened as follows in the
event of a power cut or machine fault:
XTurn off the water supply!
XCarry out the emergency emptying procedure
(see page 16).
XPull the door opener.
zThe door opens.
Check that the drum has stopped moving before you
reach in!

«F – – call service»:
XInterrupt the programme using the fast forward button
and select a new programme.
If error messages appear repeatedly:
XSwitch off the power for around 1 minute and switch
it back on again.
(Pull out the plug or switch off at the wall).
XThe machine is ready for use again when the
programme control lights flash.
XSelect a new programme.
