EINSTELLUNGEN
Die EBR-T4 Bassreflex Systeme benötigen ein tiefpassgefiltertes
Signal. D.h. die Aktivweiche am Verstärker die dem Basskanal
vorgeschaltet ist, oder der DSP am Headunit welche den Sub-Line-
Out ansteuert, muss entsprechend aktiviert werden. Üblich sind
Flankensteilheiten von min. 12 dB/Okt über 18dB bis hin zu 24dB/
Okt.
Die Trennfrequenz des Tiefpasses für den Subwoofer und der
Hochpässe der Komponenten- oder Koaxialsysteme sollte vorab auf
ca. 80Hz eingestellt werden, was eine gute Ausgangsbasis für das
Austesten der akustisch korrekten Anschlusspolung des Subwoofers
darstellt.
Phasenrichtige Polung: Bedingt durch die Wegstreckendifferenz
der Schallanteile von den Komposystemen in der Türe und dem
Subwoofer im Kofferraum muss durch Umpolen des Subwoofer
Anschlusskabels am Terminalstecker die besser klingende
Anschlussvariante ausgetestet werden. Die Beruteilung erfolgt auf
dem Fahrersitz, mit geschlossenem Kofferraum oder Heckklappe.
Die Feineinstellung der Phase des Basskanales kann wenn vorhan-
den, über den Phase-Shift Regler am Amp oder der Laufzeitkorrektur
am Headunit / Prozessor noch weiter optimiert werden.
Durch die nun folgende Fein-Einstellung der Subwoofer
Trennfrequenz und der Eingangsempfindlichkeit an der Endstufe,
lässt sich der Klang des Subwoofers im Bassbereich weiter optimie-
ren. Die Tiefpass Trennfrequenz sollte dabei in einem Bereich von
ca. 65 bis max. 90 Hz liegen.

Vor der Inbetriebnahme dieses Gehäuse Subwoofers lesen Sie bitte
die nachfolgende Anschluss- und Einstellanleitung genau, um das
Klangpotential dieses Gerätes voll auszuschöpfen.
Dieser EMPHASER Gehäuse-Subwoofer basiert auf dem Bassreflex

GEHÄUSE PLAZIERUNG
Die G5 Gehäusesubwoofer sind für eine Plazierung im Kofferraum,
direkt hinter der Rückbankschräge ausgelegt, respektive akustisch
auf diese Position im Fahrzeug abgestimmt. Das EMPHASER ESP-T2
Anschlussterminal erleichtert den Anschluss und das Herausnehmen
des Subwoofergehäuses (wenn mal das ganze Kofferraumvolumen
benötigt wird). Das unbeabsichtigte Verpolen des Zuleitungkabels
zum Subwoofer wird durch die spezielle Formgebung des Steckers
und der Dose vermieden.
ANSCHLUSS AM VERSTÄRKER
Entfernen Sie den Deckel des Steckergehäuses und schliessen Sie
das auf ca. 20 mm Länge abisolierte Zuleitungskabel von den
entsprechenden Kanälen der Endstufe, welche den G5 Subwoofer
antreiben sollen an die beiden innen liegenden Polklemmen an.
Montieren Sie den Deckel des Steckers noch nicht, denn es muss
erst die akustisch richtige Polung des Subwoofers durch Hörtests
gefunden werden.

dem Fahrzeug je nach rechtlicher Lage in den verschiedenen EU Ländern verboten sein. Um nicht mit beste-
henden gesetzlichen Richtlinien in Konflikt zu kommen wird empfohlen, die LED Stromversorgung an die
Innenraumbeleuchtung des Kofferraumes anzuschliessen.

ADJUSTMENTS
The G5 ported subwoofer systems need a lowpass filtered signal
to perform best. Thus you have to select the low-pass crossover
function of the amplifier channels that are dedicated to drive your
sub, or activate the headunits DSP based crossover driving the sub
line-out. A filter slope steepness of min 12dB/oct up to 18 or even
24dB/oct is recommended.
Phase optimized connection polarity: The correct and best sounding
polarity for your subwoofer needs to be determined empirically „by
ear“.
This is done by connecting the speaker wire to the plug of the
subwoofer either correctly “in-phase” or with reversed connection
polarity – while the resulting sound needs to be observed sitting on
the drivers seat and with the trunk closed. You can further improve
the phase match of the sub to the satellite speakers, if your amp
features a phase shift control function, or if the headunit deploys a
DSP offering time alignment of sat/sub channels.
Once you have found the correct or better sounding connection
polarity of your sub, you can re-mount the top of the terminal
plug.
The final adjustments now center around the lowpass crossover
frequency point and input level gain of the amp channels driving
the subwoofer. In general, the lowpass crossover frequency should
be set in between 65 to 90 Hz.

Before you put this subwoofer in your trunk and fire it up, please
read the manual and all operating and adjustment instructions
given, to obtain best possible sound quality and full performance.

BOX LOCATION & GENERAL INFO
The G5 trunk box subwoofer models are designed and acoustically
optimized for deployment in the trunk of hatchback or sedan type
vehicles. The EMPHASER ESP-T2 Terminal provides straightforward
and simple connection of your trunk box subwoofer, or a quick
removal of it when necessary. Accidental reverse polarity connec-
tions are avoided by the special shape of the plug and the receptor
cup, that fit together like a key with a lock.
CONNECTION TO THE AMP
Remove the top part of the speaker plug. Connect the speaker wires
coming from the amp to the terminal binding posts located inside
the main terminal housing. You should strip off 20mm isolation on
the wire end that is connected to the plug. Do not remount the top
part of the plug yet, as the correct connection polarity of the speaker
cable connecting the sub to the amp must be determined first.

zwei Jahre Garantie, geltend ab Kaufdatum in Fachhandel. Garantie-
Ansprüche können nur mit einer korrekt und vollständig ausgefüllten
Garantie-Karte zusammen mit dem Original-Kaufbeleg geltend
gemacht werden.
Sollten Sie für Ihren Verstärker Garantie-Leistungen beanspruchen,
wenden Sie sich bitte direkt an den Händler, bei dem Sie das Gerät

Nicht unter die Garantiegewährleistung fallen Schäden infolge von:

sigkeiten, Hitze, Sonneneinstrahlung oder übermäßiger Ver-
schmutzung.
3. mechanischer Beschädigung durch Unfall, Fall oder Stoss; oder
Schäden durch nicht autorisierte Reparaturversuche, bzw. nicht
durch den Hersteller ausdrücklich autorisierte Modifikationen.
Die Garantie dieses Produkts bleibt in jedem Fall auf die Reparatur
bzw. den Ersatz (Entscheidung beim Hersteller) des jeweiligen
EMPHASER-Produkts beschränkt. Schäden durch unsachgemäße
Verpackung oder Transportschäden werden nicht durch diese
Garantie gedeckt. Jeder über diese Garantie-Erklärung hinaus-
gehende Anspruch und jede Haftung für direkte oder indirekte
Folgeschäden werden ausdrücklich abgelehnt.
LIMITED WARRANTY: 24 MONTHS
EMPHASER Inc., Wyoming, Michigan USA warrants this EBR-G5
subwoofer system and it’s parts to be free of defects in materials
and workmanship for TWO YEARS from the date of purchase at
retail, contingent upon being properly set up and approved by an
authorized EMPHASER dealer.
EMPHASER Inc. will at its own discretion repair or replace any
mechanically defective loudspeaker during this warranty period.
Should your EMPHASER EBR-G5 subwoofer – or parts of it –
require warranty service, please return it to the retailer from whom
it was purchased. Please do not send any product to EMPHASER
Inc., Wyoming, Michigan USA. Should you have difficulties to find
an authorized EMPHASER service center, details are available from
the national distributor in the country of purchase.
This warranty does not cover any damage due to:
1. speaker overload due to excessive or distorted amplifier power
(clipping) etc.
2. exposure to excessive humidity, fluids, heat, direct sunrays or
excessive dirt or dust.
3. accidents or abuse, unauthorized repair attempts and
modifications not explicitly authorized by the manufacturer.
This warranty is limited to the repair or the replacement of the
defective EMPHASER product at the manufacturer´s option and
does not cover any loss during transportation, shipping costs or
any other damage caused by transport or shipment of the product.
Any other form of damage, whether incidential, consequential or
otherwise is not covered by this warranty either.
