NTRODUCT ON
Welcome o he wonderful world of he micro-compu er EMERSON ARCADIA-2001. This micro compu er
will bring you endless hours of fun a home wi h addi ional car ridges available a your EMERSON dealer.
GENERAL
This micro-compu er is designed o play games on Color or Black and Whi e TV ses.
The Video Game player will opera e on ei her channel 3 or 4 on any TV se . A slide swi ch (11) loca ed on
he rear of he uni will selec he channel for opera ion.
An An enna Swi ch box is provided o selec Video Game or local TV programs.
An AC adap or is included o supply Power o he micro-compu er. This Adap or should be plugged in o a
convenien ly loca ed AC Ou le having 120 Vol 60 Hz Only, and he long wire wi h a DC Power Plug should
be connec ed in o he DC JACK (9) loca ed on he rear of he uni .
Two Joy S icks are provided separa ely, so ha hey may be moun ed on o he Con rol Disc o conver he Hand
Con roller o a "JOYSTICK" ype con roller. Screw in he s ick o moun i and screw ou o remove i .
Two JACKS (8) loca ed on he rear of he uni can be connec ed wi h wo addi ional Hand Con rollers
(no included) for fu ure games.
HOW TO CONNECT THE M CRO COMPUTER TO A TV SET

Connec he Ou pu Cable (12) from he micro-compu er o he Jack in he An enna swi ch Box.
Secure he An enna Swi ch Box on he back of he TV se by peeling off he adhesive pro ec or label on he
Swi ch Box, and s icking i permanen ly on he TV se .

This micro-compu er has connec ed (no -de achable) wo Hand Con rollers wi h coil wires.
Every Hand Con roller has a keyboard wi h 12 bu ons. These bu ons are used o feed da a o he
micro-compu er.
Some Game Car ridges are supplied wi h Overlay (s), o be inser ed on o he keyboard (s).

keyboard, hen bend i down and inser he lower side of he Overlay in o he lower side of he keyboard
(see fig 2)
Every overlay ma ches he par icular game o be played and indica es which bu on of he keyboard is
opera ed o con rol he game.
Some car ridges are supplied wi h wo overlays for wo players, indica ing in which keyboard hey should
be inser ed.
There is one ACTION bu on on each side of every Hand Con roller. They perform he same func ion for he
convenience of ei her righ or lef hand player.
The func ion of he keybaord depends on he car ridge being used and is differen in every car ridge.
The Con rol Disc on he lower side of he Hand Con roller is o con rol he direc ion of he moving objec on
he screen.
Example: By pressing he lower edge of he disc, or pulling he Joy S ick o he lower side of he disc, he
objec will move o he lower side of he screen and so for h.

OPERAT ON
Slide he Con rol on he An enna Swi ch box o GAME posi ion.
Before connec ing he Power o he uni be sure he POWER (2) swi ch be in OFF (ex ended) posi ion.
Turn On he TV se and se he Channel Selec or o channel 3 or 4, whichever is no in use. If bo h channels
are in use, selec he channel wi h weaker recep ion.
Se he Channel 3-4 (11) swi ch loca ed on he rear of he uni o he channel selec ed.
Inser he Video Game car ridge in o he Car ridge Slo (7), loca ed on op of he uni , firmly bu do no
force i . To remove i jus pull s raigh up.
CAUTION: Be sure he POWER LED INDICATOR (1) be off before he car ridge is inser ed or removed.
Af er he car ridge is inser ed press he POWER (2) swi ch o ON posi ion.
If he playfield does no appear on he screen, adjus he Fine Tune Con rol on he TV se, un il he image
is clear and undis or ed.
Adjus he VOLUME con rol on TV se o a desired level.
Press he START (6) bu on o begin playing.

SELECT (4) OPTION (5) AND START (6) BUTTONS

The way o use hese bu ons are described on ins ruc ions supplied wi h every game car ridge.

GENERAL NFORMAT ONS
When he micro-compu er is no in use, be sure o se he uni OFF by pressing he POWER (2) swi ch.
Replace he Hand Con rollers in place (see fig 3).
S ore he car ridge games in a clean and dry place.
Keep he car ridges away from hea or mois ure places.
Do not clean the cartridges or micro-computer with detergents
or solvents. For cleaning, use slightly water moisted cloth only.
Chemicals or excessive moisture may damage the cartridges
and micro-computer.

Playfield fuzzy like weak TV

NOTE:
Due o differences in color circui ry on various makes of TV receivers; ac iva ing he rese bu on of he
console may no always clear and rese he screen properly. If his occurs please urn he console off for
2-3 seconds, and urn on again.
Due o varia ions in Color Pic ure Tube quali y, no all colors will appear same on every TV se .
