PACKAGE CONTENTS
HandWandKleen (HWK) is a high intensity UVC portable hand wand unit for surface disinfection. The HWK
series is designed to disinfect the surfaces instantly, and help control the growth of germs, virus, bacteria,
and spores and reduce spreading of infectionsis a high intensity UVC installed on a handwand.
1) Fully assembled, ready to be used HWK unit
SAFETY FIRST
1) Authorized personnel is required to operate the unit.
2) Always direct the UV rays AWAY from the eyes and skin.
3) Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as UV blocking safety goggles, and
full sleeves.
4) Never look directly at the UV light and always wear proper eye protection
5) Do not expose the UV light to humans, animals, and any other living organisms
ONE YEAR WARRANTY
EP Lighting will replace or repair HWK series as long as it was not mishandled or misued.
EP Lighting warranty registration card must be filled out and received by EP Lighting within 15 days of
installation.
This warranty is for the repair or replacement of damaged EPL products only.
EP Lighting accepts no liability, written or expressed, for the damage that may have occurred to any
other equipment; nor does EP Lighting warranty cover any labor cost associated with replacement of
such product.
WARNING:
ALWAYS wear a pproper eye protection while operating the HanndWand unit.

EP-HWK SERIES OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Make sure that the unit’s power cord is in good condition without any damage.
2. After unwrapping the product from its shipping box, plug the unit to the wall.
3. Clean the surface for debris, vacuum thoroughly before applying HWK to any surface.
4. Turn on the HWK using the power switch on the unit, and then hold HWK approximately ½ inch to
1inch from surface, and gradually move the HWK over the entire surface.
5. Try to allow the light on each area for 1-2 seconds to ensure optimum UV exposure.
6. The UVC can be used on majority of the surfaces such as: bedding, countertops, cash registeres,
touch screens, kitchen utensils, clothes, keyboards, telephone handsets, toys, desks, etc.
7. The closer the unit to the surface, the higher the disinfection rate.
MAINTENANCE:
Each HWK unit will have its own power control using a push-button switch located on the top side of the
unit. EPL products do NOT usually require periodic maintenance, but since the HWK units are operated at a
publicly accessible location – it is advisable to check for any vandalism, foreign debris, quality of the
protection mesh on the unit.
SERVICING:
EPL units contain no serviceable parts and require no adjustments. All EPL products are designed to provide
many years of air disinfection without any need for servicing. If the EPL unit does malfunction contact your
EPL sales representative to discuss obtaining a replacement unit.
