Operation
Poweringthemeter
Ifthemeterissuppliedwithoutbatteriesinstalled,installthesuppliedbatteriesintherear
batterycompartmenttopowerthemeter.Pleaseobserveproperpolarity.
Ifthemeterissuppliedwiththebatteriesinstalled,andaprotectivebatterystripisinstalledin
thebatterycompartment,removetheprotectivestriptopowerthemeter.
Alternatively,plugtheACadaptorintothejackonthesideofthemeterandthenintoanAC
powersourcetopowerthemeter.
NormalOperationMode
WhenswitchedON,theLCDdisplays‘0000’foraperiodoftime,dependingonthetimethatthe
meterhasbeeninactive.Themeterwillthenproceedtothenormalmodeofoperationwhere
theLCDdisplaysthecurrentCOlevelsinppm,theTemperature(°C/°F),andRH%(relative
humidity)alternatelyevery6seconds.
StatusIndicatorLED
TheFrontpanelstatusLEDusesacolor‐codingsystemtoinformtheuserastothemeasuredCO
concentration;GreenforGood(<10ppm);YellowforCaution(10to29ppm);RedforDanger
(>30ppm).IftheLEDfailstoilluminatepleasereturntheunitforservice.
Controlbutton
TheControlbuttonlocatedontheleftsideofthemeterisusedtocontrolandprogramavariety
ofmeterfunctions.PressandholdtheControlbuttonforatleast3secondstoaccessthe
ControlSetupMode.RepeatedpressesoftheControlbuttoncyclethroughtheavailable
parameters.Theseparameters,inorder,are:
ZEROCalibration
TemperatureUnitselection(°C/°F)
Temperaturecompensation(usedinconjunctionwithsidepotentiometer)
Humiditycompensation(usedinconjunctionwithsidepotentiometer)
AlarmBeeperThreshold(25,30,35,50,100,200ppm)
FactoryDefaultsettingreset
Escape/Return(abortandreturntonormalmode)
ZEROCalibration
EnsurethattheZeroCalibrationisperformedinacleanairenvironment(noCOgases).
PressandholdtheControlbuttonfor3seconds(until appearsontheLCDscreen)and
thenpressandholdtheControlbuttonagaintoenterthecalibrationmode(‘CAL’should
appearonthedisplay).

ReleasetheControlbuttonandwaitapproximately20secondsforthecalibrationto
complete.Themeterwilldisplay‘END’for2secondswhencalibrationiscompleteandwill
thenreturntothenormalmodeofoperation.
ChangingTemperatureUnitsC/F
When isshownonthedisplay,pressandholdtheControlbuttontodisplaythecurrent
temperatureunit.MomentarilypresstheCalibrationControlbuttontotoggle°Cand°F
units.Tosavesetting,pressandholdtheControlbutton.Themeterwillreturntothe
normalmode.
TemperatureCompensationAdjustment
When isshownonthedisplay,pressandholdtheControlbutton.Thefactorydefault
‘0.0’valuewillflash.Turnthecompensationpotentiometerclockwisetoincreasethe
temperatureoffsetorcounterclockwisetodecreaseoffset).Therangeis‐5.4°Fto+5.4°F(‐
3.0°Cto+3.0°C).Whendone,pressandholdtheControlbuttontosavethesetting.The
meterwillreturntothenormalmeasurementmodeandwillreflecttheoffsetwhen
temperaturereadingsaredisplayed.
Note:Toperformanaccurateoffsetadjustment,astandardreferenceisrequiredfor
comparison.

RelativeHumidityCompensationAdjustment
When isshownonthedisplay,pressandholdtheControlbuttontoentertherelative
humiditycompensationadjustmentmode.MomentarilypresstheControlbuttontomakea
stepchangeintheRH%offset;therangeis‐9to+9RH%.Whendone,pressandholdthe
Controlbuttontosavethesetting.Themeterwillreturntothenormalmode.
Note:Toperformanaccurateoffsetadjustment,astandardreferenceisrequiredfor
comparison.
Warning:WhileperformingtemperatureorRH%compensationadjustmentsdonottouch
theslottedopeningsonthemeterhousing,thesearewherethesensorsarelocated.
Otherwise,accuracymaybecompromised.
Note:Ifthemeterdisplays‘ ’presstheControlbuttonto
steptothenextsetting.
AlarmBeeperThresholdSelection
When isshownonthedisplay,pressandholdtheControlbutton.Thefactorydefault
settingwillflash.MomentarilypresstheControlbuttontochoosea25ppm,30ppm,
35ppm,50ppm,100ppm,or200ppmthreshold.Aftertheselection,pressandholdthe
Controlbuttontosaveandreturntothenormalmode.
Thealarmbeeperpromptspersonneltoevacuateanareabecauseofthedetectionof
unsafeconcentrationsofCO.ThemeteralarmswhentheCOconcentrationexceedsthe
defaultoruser‐programmedthreshold.
Thebeepermaybetemporarilysilencedforapproximately4minutesbypressingthe
Controlbutton.Afterthistime,ifthemetercontinuestodetectaCOconcentration
exceedingthethreshold,itwillalarmagain.Forsafetypurposes,themeteralarmfunction
cannotbecompletelydisabled.

ReverttoFactoryDefaultSettings
When isshownontheLCDdisplay,pressandholdtheControlbuttontoresetthe
CO30toitsdefault(factory)settings.
Escape/ReturnFunction
When isshownontheLCDdisplay,pressandholdtheControlbuttonfor3secondsto
abortthecurrentprogrammingstepandreturntothenormalmeasurementmode.
Maintenance
LowBatteryCondition
Whenthebatteryicon()appearsontheLCD,thebatteriesmustbereplaced.Ifthemeteris
lowonbatteryvoltage,erraticorinaccurateCOconcentrationreadingsmayresult.Neveruse
themeterwiththelowbatteryicondisplayed.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriate
collectionsites,theretailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,orwherever
batteriesaresold.
Disposal:Donotdisposeofthisinstrumentinhouseholdwaste.Theuserisobligatedtotake
end‐of‐lifedevicestoadesignatedcollectionpointforthedisposalofelectricalandelectronic
equipment.
