(corded) power tool or battery-operated
(cordless) power tool.

SAFETY WARNINGS FOR BATTERY
a) Do not open the battery. Danger of short-
circuiting.
b) Protect the battery against heat, e. g.,
against continuous intense sunlight,
fire, water, and moisture. Danger of explosion.
c) In case of damage and improper use of the
battery, vapours may be emitted. Ventilate
the area and seek medical help in case
of complaints. The vapours can irritate the
respiratory system.
d) Use the battery only in conjunction with your
FERM product. This measure alone protects
the battery against dangerous overload.
e) The battery can be damaged by pointed
objects such as nails or screwdrivers or by
force applied externally. An internal short
circuit can occur and the battery can burn,
smoke, explode or overheat.
SAFETY WARNINGS FOR CHARGER
Charge the type rechargeable Battery packs with
the USB cable other types of batteries may burst
causing personal injury and damage.
a) The appliance is not to be used by persons
(including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction.
b) Children being supervised not to play with
the appliance.
c) Do not recharging non-rechargeable
batteries!
d) During charging, batteries must be placed
in the well ventilated area!
Electrical safety
• Do not charge the Battery packs if the USB
cable is damaged.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep the work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
2) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and
use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while
you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always
wear eye protection. Protective equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate
conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
switch is in the off-position before connecting
to power source and/or battery pack, picking
up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools
with your finger on the switch or energising power
tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key
left attached to a rotating part of the power
tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. This enables better control
of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing
or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose
clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection
of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly
used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust
related hazards.
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent
use of tools allow you to become
complacent and ignore tool safety
principles. A careless action can cause severe
injury within a fraction of a second.
3) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
power tool for your application. The correct
power tool will do the job better and safer at
the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power source
and/or the battery pack from the power tool
before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach
of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition
that may affect the power tool’s operation.
If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to
control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry,
clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery
handles and grasping surfaces do not allow
for safe handling and control of the tool in
unexpected situations.
4) Battery tool use and care
a) Recharge only with the charger specified by
the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable
for one type of battery pack may create a risk
of fire when used with another battery pack.
b) Use power tools only with specifically
designated battery packs. Use of any other
battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it
away from other metal objects, like paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other
small metal objects that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a fire.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with
water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally
seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
e) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is
damaged or modified. Damaged or modified
batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour
resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to
fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to
fire or temperature above 130 °C may cause
explosion. NOTE The temperature „130 °C“
can be replaced by the temperature „265 °F“.
g) Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or tool outside
the temperature range specified in the
instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside the specified range may
damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
6) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a
qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the
safety of the power tool is maintained.
b) Never service damaged battery packs.
Service of battery packs should only be
performed by the manufacturer or authorized
service providers.
2. MACHINE INFORMATION
Intended use
The cordless pruner saw is designed only for
sawing wood. This pruner saw is not suitable for
felling trees. The device is not intended for any
other types of application (e.g. cutting masonry,
plastic or food). Using the pruner saw for work
other than that for which it is intended may result
in serious injury to the user or other persons.
This device is not suitable for commercial use.
The device is designed for use by adults.
The manufacturer is not liable for damages, which
were caused through use in applications for which
it was not designed, or incorrect operation.
The cordless pruner saw may only be used by one
person and for sawing branch.

The pruner saw must be held with the right
hand on the handgrip and the left hand on the
grip surface. Before using the pruner saw, the
user must read and understand all information
and instructions in the instruction manual. The
user must wear appropriate personal protective
equipment (PPE). Only branch may be sawed with
the pruner saw. Materials such as plastic, rock,
metal or wood containing foreign bodies (e.g.
nails or screws) must not be processed!
Function description
The cordless pruner saw is equipped with a chain
quick tensioning system. The circulating saw
chain is guided over a blade bar (guide rail). The
device is provided with various protective devices
to protect the user.
Refer to the following descriptions for the function
of control elements.

3 Switch-on block
The switch-on block must be released for
switching on the device.

4 On-off switch with safety chain brake
On releasing the On/Off switch, the device
immediately switches off.

Protects the hand against branches and boughs
in the case of springing away by the chain.

helps you to catch spring-backs with specially
developed control systems.
Warning: The vibration emission value may differ
during actual use of the power tool from the
stated value depending on the manner in which
the power tool is used.
Try to keep the exposure to vibrations as low
as possible. Examples of measures to reduce
vibration exposure are the wearing of gloves when
using the tool and limiting the working hours. All
parts of the operating cycle are to be taken into
account in this (for example times in which the
electric tool is turned off and those in which even
though it is turned on, it is not running under a load)
Beware of kickback! Be careful of
kickback of the machine during work.
There is danger of injury here. You can
avoid kickbacks by exercising caution
and using a correct sawing technique.

Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the
guide bar touches an object, or when the wood
closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut (cf. fi
g 1/image B). Tip contact in some cases may cause
a sudden reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up
and back towards the operator (fig. 1/image A).
Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide
bar may push the guide bar rapidly back towards
the operator.
Each of these reactions can lead to you losing
control of the saw and potentially being seriously
injured. Do not rely exclusively on the safety
devices built into the pruner saw. As user of
the pruner saw, you should undertake various
measures to enable accident- and injury free
working.
Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/ or
incorrect operating procedures or conditions and
can be avoided by taking proper precautions as
given below:
a) Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers
encircling the chain saw handles, with both
hands on the saw and position your body and
arm to allow you to resist kickback forces.
Kickback forces can be controlled by the
operator, if proper precautions are taken. Do
not let go of the chain saw.
b) Avoid an abnormal work posture and do not
saw above shoulder height. This prevents
unintentional contact with the rail tip and
enables better control of the pruner saw in
unforeseen situations.
c) Only use replacement bars and chains
specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect
replacement bars and chains may cause chain
breakage and/or kickback.
d) Follow the manufacturer´s sharpening and
maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to
increased kickback.
Further safety directions
• Comply carefully with maintenance, control
and service instructions in this manual.
• Damaged protective devices and parts have
to be repaired or changed except as noted
otherwise in this manual.
• It is recommended that a first-time user at
least practice the cutting of logs on a saw log
or frame.
• For sawing work on hillsides, always stand in
the area above the log. To keep total control
while sawing through, reduce the pressure at
the end of the cut without loosening your grip
on the handles of the pruner saw. Make sure
the saw chain does not touch the ground.
After finishing the cut, wait until the pruner
saw comes to a stop before removing it there.
Always switch off the motor of the pruner saw
before changing between trees.
• Dirt, stones, loose bark, nails, clips and wires
must be removed from the tree.

• Do not use any accessories that are not
recommended. This can result in electric
shock or fire.
• This tool is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
• Children or persons unfamiliar with these
instructions must not operate the chain saw.
Local regulations may restrict the age of the
operator.
• The user is responsible for accidents or
hazards occurring to other people or their
property.
• Use the chain saw only in daylight or in good
artificial light.
• Never operate the chain saw with defective
guards or without the guard in place.
• Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensure
that the chain saw is always in a safe working
condition.
• Hold the product securely with both hands.
• Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
• Do not attempt to repair the machine unless
you are qualified to do so.
Residual risks
Even if properly operating and handling this
electric tool, some residual risks will remain. Due
to its construction and build, this electric tool may
present the following hazards:
a) Cuts
b) Ear damage if working without ear protection.
c) Damage to your health caused by swinging
your hands and arms when operating the
appliance for longer periods of time or if the
unit is not held or maintained properly.
Warning! During operation, this electric
tool generates an electromagnetic field
which, under certain circumstances, may
impair the functionality of active or
passive medical implants. To reduce the
risk of serious or lethal injuries, we
recommend that persons with medical
implants consult their doctor and the
manufacturer of their medical implant
before operating the machine.
3. ASSEMBLY
Always wear protective gloves when
working with the chainsaw and employ
only original parts
Before putting the electric chain saw into
operation, you must:
- adjust the saw chain tension,
- lubricate the saw chain
- charge and insert the battery
Assembling the blade bar and saw chain
Switch off the device and remove the
battery before carrying out any
maintenance work.
1. Place the device on a level surface.
2. Turn the Mounting knob (10) of the sprocket
cover in an anticlockwise direction ( ) in
order to remove the sprocket cover (9).
3. Spread out the saw chain (12) in a loop so that
the cutting edges are aligned in a clockwise
direction. Use the graphical symbol on the
blade bar or above the chain sprocket (17) as a
guide to align the saw chain (12).

4. Place the saw chain (12) into the blade bar
groove. To assemble, hold the blade bar
(11) tilted upwards at an angle of approx. 45
degrees in order to be able to guide the saw
chain (12) more easily onto the chain sprocket
(17).
5. Place the blade bar (11) and saw chain (12). It
is normal for the saw chain (12) to sag.
6. Turn the screw for the chain quicktensioning
system (8) until the chain tensioner pin (19) is
approximately level with the mounting screw
(16).
7. Place the sprocket cover (9) into position. The
chain tensioner pin (19) on the inside of the
sprocket cover (9) must be guided into the
chain tension pin holder.

8. Screw the Mounting knob (10) into the
threaded screw (16).
9. Pre-tension the saw chain (12) by turning the
screw for the chain quicktensioning system (8)
in the direction.
10.Tighten the mounting knob (10) of the sprocket
cover ( ).
Caution! The pruner saw can be prone
to leaks.
Prior to changing the saw chain, the groove of
the guide rail must be cleaned of dirt because
dirt deposits available can cause the saw chain
to break out of the rail. The deposits can also
absorb the chain oil. So the consequence would
be that the chain oil would not or only a small part
of it would reach the underside of the rail and the
lubrication would be reduced.
Tensioning the saw chain
Regularly tightening the saw chain provides safety
for the user and reduces and/or prevents wear
and chain damages. Before the start of work and
in approx. 10 minute intervals, we recommend the
user to examine the chain tension and correct it,
if necessary. The chain warms up when working
with the saw and thus expands slightly. These
“expansions” can be expected especially from
newer chains.
Do not re-tighten or change the chain
when it is hot because it shrinks slightly
once it has cooled down. In case of non-
observance, this can lead to damages on
the guide rail or the engine because now
the chain is too taut on the blade. Chain
tension and chain lubrication have a
significant impact on the service life of
the chain.
The chain is correctly tensioned if it does not
sag at the rail underside and can be rotated
completely around with the gloved hand. When
the saw chain is tensioned with 9 N (approx. 1 kg),
the gap between the saw chain and the guide rail
may not be more than 2 mm.

Switch off the device and remove the
battery before carrying out any
maintenance work.
1. Loosen the mounting knob (10) of the sprocket
cover (9) ( ).
2. To tension the saw chain, turn the screw
(8) for the chain quicktensioning system in the
direction. To loosen the tension, turn the
screw (8) for the quick-tensioning system in
the direction .
3. Tighten the mounting knob (10) of the sprocket
cover (9) again ( ).
The chain tension of a new saw chain
must be readjusted after a maximum of 5
cuts.
Removing/inserting the rechargeable battery
1. To insert the battery (14) into the device,
push the battery along the guide rails into the
device. You will hear them click into place.
2. To remove the battery (14) from the device,
press the release button (14a) on the battery
and pull the battery out.
4. OPERATION
Switch on the chainsaw only when chain
bar, saw chain and sprocket chain wheel
covering are correctly assembled.
Make sure you have a secure stance.
Before starting, ensure that the electric
chainsaw is in contact with no objects.
Never operate the device without the
front cut protection. Risk of injury!
Switching on
1. Place the battery (14) into the device
2. Check the load status of the rechargeable
battery before starting.
3. Hold the device firmly with both hands, with
your right hand on the handle (5) and left hand
on the grip (2). Your thumb and fingers must
tightly clasp the handle (5). Never use the
device onehanded. Risk of injury!
4. To turn on, press the switch lock (3) with your
thumb or index finger and then press the on/

off switch (4); the device will run at maximum
speed. Release the switch lock (3).
5. The device will switch off again when you
release the on/off switch (4). The device
cannot be switched to continuous operation.
Changing the blade bar
1. Switch off the device and remove the battery
(14) from the device.
2. Place the device on a level surface.
3. Turn the mounting knob (10) of the sprocket
cover in a counter-clockwise direction in order
to loosen the chain tension and to remove the
sprocket cover (9).
4. Remove the blade bar (11) and saw chain (12).
To disassemble, hold the blade bar (11) tilted
upwards at an angle of approx. 45 degrees in
order to be able to remove the saw chain (12)
more easily from the chain sprocket (17).
5. Replace the blade bar and install the blade bar
and saw chain as described under “Installing
the saw chain and blade bar”.
The tensioning of the saw chain is described in
the “Assembly” section.
SAWING TECHNIQUES
General information
Observe noise protection rules and other
local regulations when working with the
tool. Local regulations may require a
suitability test.
• Dirt, stones, loose bark, nails, clips and wires
must be removed from the tree.
• Always stand above the tree trunk when
sawing on slopes.
• To keep total control while sawing through,
reduce the pressure at the end of the cut
without loosening your grip on the handles
of the pruner saw. Make sure the saw chain
does not touch the ground. After finishing the
cut, wait until the pruner saw comes to a stop
before removing it.
• Always switch off the motor of the pruner saw
before changing between trees.
• You will have better control over the device if
you saw using the lower edge of the blade bar
(chain in pulling direction).
• The saw chain must not touch the ground or
any object while sawing through the material
or thereafter.
• Ensure that the saw chain does not get stuck
while sawing. The log must not break or splinter.
• Please also observe the precautionary
measures to protect against kickback (see the
safety information).
• For sawing work on hillsides, always stand in
the area above the log. To keep total control
while sawing through, reduce the pressure at
the end of the cut without loosening your grip
on the handles of the pruner saw. Make sure
the saw chain does not touch the ground.
After finishing the cut, wait until the saw chain
comes to a stop before removing it. Always
switch off the motor of the pruner saw before
changing between trees.
If the saw chain gets stuck, do not
attempt to pull out the device with force.
There is a risk of injury. Turn the motor off
and use a lever arm or wedge to release
the device.
Cut to length
Cutting to length means sawing felled tree trunks
into small sections. Ensure that you have secure
footing and balance your body weight evenly
on both feet. If possible, the trunk should be
protected and supported by branches, logs or
wedges.
• Make sure that the saw chain does not touch
the ground when sawing.
• Make sure you have good footing and stand
above the trunk on sloping terrain. To keep
total control while sawing through, reduce
the pressure at the end of the cut without
loosening your grip on the handles of the
pruner saw. After finishing the cut, wait
until the saw chain comes to a stop before
removing it. Always switch off the motor of the
pruner saw before changing between trees.
1. Log is lying on the ground:
Saw through the log completely from above and
ensure at the end of the cut not to contact the ground.
If you can turn the tree trunk, saw twothirds of the
way through it. Then turn the trunk around and
saw the rest of the way through from above.

2. Sawing on a sawhorse:
Hold the electric chainsaw steady with both
hands, keeping the saw in front of you while
sawing. Once the saw is through the wood, guide
the machine passed you on the right (1). Hold
your left arm as straight as you can (2). Watch out
for the falling trunk. Position yourself to prevent
any danger from the separated trunk. Watch your
feet. The trunk may cause injuries when falling.
Keep your balance (3).
Limbing
Limbing is the designation for the sawing off of
branches and boughs from a felled tree.
Many accidents occur during the removal of
branches. Never cut tree limbs when you are
standing on the log. Keep the spring-back area in
mind if branches are under tension.
• Do not remove support branches until after the
sawing off.
• Branches under tension must be sawed from
below to above, in order to prevent jamming of
the chainsaw.
When working on thicker branches, use the same
technique as when you are sawing up a felled trunk.
• Work to the left of the log and as near as
possible to the electric chainsaw. As far as
possible, the weight of the saw should rest on
the log.
• Change position to saw off branches on the
other side of the trunk.
• Branches sticking out are cut off separately.
5. MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning and maintenance, always
switch off the machine and remove the
battery pack from the machine.
Only use original spare parts. Allow the device to
cool off before undertaking any maintenance or
cleaning work. There is a danger of burns!
Use cut-protection gloves when handling
the chain or the chain bar. Risk of cuts!
Cleaning
• Clean the machine thoroughly after every use.
In this way, you extend the life of the machine
and avoid accidents.
• Keep the gripping handles free of petrol, oil
or grease. Clean the gripping handles, where
appropriate, with a moist cloth soaked in soap.
Use no solvents or petrol for cleaning!
• Clean the saw chain after every use. Use a
paint brush or wipe for that. Do not use any
liquids to clean the chain. After cleaning, oil the
chain lightly with chain oil.
• Clean the ventilation slots and the surfaces of
the machine with a paint brush, whisk or dry
cloth. Do not use any liquids for cleaning.
Saw chain oiling
Clean and oil the chain regularly. This keeps the
chain sharp and achieves optimum machine
performance. Damage due to insufficient
maintenance of the saw chain will invalidate the
warranty.
Remove the battery and use cut-
resistant gloves when working with the
chain or with the blade bar.
The blade bar and chain must never be
operated without oil. If the cordless
pruner saw is used with too little oil, the
cutting performance and lifespan of the
saw chain will decrease as the chain will
become blunt more quickly. You can
identify when there is too little oil if
smoke develops or the blade bar
changes colour.
Switch off the device and remove the
battery before carrying out any
maintenance work.
• Oil the chain after cleaning, after 10 hours of
use or at least once a week, whichever comes
first.
• Before oiling, the blade bar, especially the
teeth of the blade bar, must be thoroughly
cleaned. Use a hand brush and a dry cloth for
this purpose.
• Oil the individual chain links using an oil
syringe with a needle tip (available from
specialist dealers). Apply individual drops of

oil on the joints and on the tooth tips of the
individual chain links.
1. The chain should be well-tensioned to ensure
proper sharpening.
2. For the sharpening, a round file with 4.0 mm
diameter is necessary.
Other diameters damage the chain and
can lead to danger during work!
3. Sharpen only from the inside to the outside.
Guide the fi le from the inner side of the cutting
teeth to the outer side. Lift the fi le when you
are withdrawing it.
4. Sharpen first the teeth on one side. Turn the
saw around and sharpen the teeth of the other
side.
5. The chain is worn and must be replaced by
a new saw chain if only approx. 4 mm of the
cutting teeth is remaining.
6. After the sharpening, all cutting elements must
now be equal in length and width.
7. After every third sharpening, the sharpness
depth (depth limitation) must be checked and
the height filed with the aid of a flat file. The
depth limitation should be set back about 0.65
mm from the cutting tooth. After the setting
back of depth limitation, round it off a little at
the front.
Adjusting the chain tension
The adjustment of the chain tension is described
in the chapter “Assembly - tensioning chainsaw”.
• Switch off the device and remove the battery
(14) from the device.
• Check the chain tension regularly and re-
adjust this as often as possible. When the saw
chain is tensioned with 9 N (approx. 1 kg), the
gap between the saw chain and the guide rail
may not be more than 2 mm.
Starting up a new saw chain
In the case of a new chain, the tensioning force
decreases after some time. Therefore, you have
to re-tension the chain after the first 5 cuts and no
later than after 10 minutes’ sawing time.
Never attach a new chain to a worn drive pinion
or place onto a damaged or worn chain bar. The
chain could spring back or break, potentially
leading to serious injury.
Maintaining the chain bar
Use cut-protection gloves when
handling the chain or the chain bar.
1. Switch off the device and remove the battery
(14) from the device.
2. Remove the sprocket chain wheel covering (9),
the saw chain (12) and the chain bar (11).
3. Check the chain bar (11) for wear. Remove
burrs and straighten the guide surfaces with a
flat file.
4. Mount chain bar (11), chainsaw (12) and
sprocket chain wheel covering (9) and tighten
the saw chain.
Turning the blade bar
Use cut-resistant gloves when working
with the saw chain or with the blade bar.
The blade bar (11) needs to be reversed regularly
after a working time of about 10 hours in order to
ensure even wear.
1. Switch off the device and remove the battery
(14) from the device.
2. Remove the sprocket cover (9), saw chain (12)
and blade bar (11).
3. Turn the blade bar around its horizontal
axis and install the blade bar and chain as
described under “Installing the saw chain and
blade bar”.
When doing so, pay attention to the correct
rotation direction of the saw chain!

Warnhinweisen bezieht sich auf ein
netzbetriebenes (kabelgebundenes) oder
auf ein akkubetriebenes (kabelloses)
Elektrowerkzeug.
SICHERHEITSHINWEISE FÜR AKKUS
a) Akku nicht öffnen. Gefahr eines Kurzschlusses.
b) Schützen Sie den Akku vor Hitze, zum
Beispiel vor andauerndem intensiven
Sonnenlicht, sowie vor Feuer, Wasser und
Feuchtigkeit. Explosionsgefahr.
c) Bei Beschädigung und unsachgemäßer
Verwendung des Akkus können Dämpfe
freigesetzt werden. Lüften Sie den Bereich
und suchen Sie bei Beschwerden einen Arzt
auf. Die Dämpfe können die Atemwege reizen.
d) Verwenden Sie den Akku nur in Verbindung
mit Ihrem FERM-Produkt. Nur dadurch
wird der Akku vor gefährlicher Überladung
geschützt.
e) Der Akku kann durch spitze Gegenstände
wie Nägel oder Schraubendreher oder
durch äußere Krafteinwirkung beschädigt
werden. Es kann ein interner Kurzschluss
auftreten und der Akku kann brennen,
rauchen, explodieren oder überhitzen.

b) Betreiben Sie Elektrowerkzeuge nicht
in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen,
z.B. bei Vorhandensein von brennbaren
Flüssigkeiten, Gasen oder Staub.
Elektrowerkzeuge erzeugen Funken, die den
Staub oder die Dämpfe entzünden können.
c) Halten Sie Kinder und Umstehende fern,
während Sie Elektrogeräte benutzen.
Ablenkungen können zum Verlust der Kontrolle
führen.
2) Sicherheit von Personen
a) Bleiben Sie beim Umgang mit einem
Elektrowerkzeug aufmerksam, achten Sie
auf das, was Sie tun, und benutzen Sie Ihren
gesunden Menschenverstand. Benutzen
Sie Elektrowerkzeuge nicht, wenn Sie müde
sind oder unter dem Einfluss von Drogen,

Bedingungen verwendet werden, verringern
die Zahl der Verletzungen.
c) Unbeabsichtigtes Starten verhindern.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Schalter
ausgeschaltet ist, bevor Sie das Gerät an die
Stromquelle und/oder den Akku anschließen,
es in die Hand nehmen oder tragen. Das
Tragen von Elektrowerkzeugen mit dem Finger
auf dem Schalter oder das Einschalten von
Elektrowerkzeugen, bei denen der Schalter
eingeschaltet ist, lädt zu Unfällen ein.
d) Entfernen Sie vor dem Einschalten des
Elektrowerkzeugs alle Einstellschlüssel
oder Schraubenschlüssel. Ein
Einstellschlüssel oder Schraubenschlüssel,
der an einem rotierenden Teil des
Elektrowerkzeugs verbleibt, kann zu
Verletzungen führen.
e) Keine anormale Arbeitshaltung einnehmen.
Achten Sie jederzeit auf festen Stand und

Ihr Gleichgewicht. Das ermöglicht eine
bessere Kontrolle des Elektrowerkzeugs in
unerwarteten Situationen.
f) Angemessene Kleidung tragen. Tragen
Sie keine locker sitzende Kleidung oder
Schmuck. Haare, Kleidung und Handschuhe
von beweglichen Teilen fernhalten. Locker
sitzende Kleidung, Schmuck oder lange Haare
können sich in beweglichen Teilen verfangen.
g) Wenn Anschlüsse für Vorrichtungen
zum Absaugen und Sammeln von Staub
vorhanden sind, stellen Sie sicher, dass
diese angebracht und ordnungsgemäß
verwendet werden. Die Verwendung einer
Staubabsaugvorrichtung kann staubbedingte
Gefahren verringern.
h) Achten Sie darauf, nicht durch häufigen
Gebrauch von Werkzeugen nachlässig
zu werden und die Prinzipien zum
sicheren Umgang mit den Werkzeugen zu
ignorieren. Eine unachtsame Handlung kann
innerhalb von Sekundenbruchteilen schwere
Verletzungen verursachen.
3) Verwendung und Pflege von
Elektrowerkzeugen
a) Wenden Sie keine übermäßige Kraft auf
das Elektrowerkzeug an. Verwenden Sie
das richtige Elektrowerkzeug für Ihre
Anwendung. Das richtige Elektrowerkzeug
erledigt die Arbeit besser und sicherer mit der
Geschwindigkeit, für die es konzipiert wurde.
b) Verwenden Sie das Elektrowerkzeug
nicht, wenn es nicht am Schalter ein-
und ausgeschaltet werden kann. Jedes
Elektrowerkzeug, das nicht mit dem Schalter
gesteuert werden kann, stellt eine Gefahr dar
und muss repariert werden.
c) Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der Steckdose
bzw. trennen Sie den Akku vom
Elektrowerkzeug, bevor Sie irgendwelche
Einstellungen vornehmen, Zubehörteile
austauschen oder Elektrowerkzeuge
aufbewahren. Diese vorbeugenden
Sicherheitsmaßnahmen verringern das Risiko
einer unbeabsichtigten Inbetriebnahme des
Elektrowerkzeugs.
d) Bewahren Sie ungenutzte
Elektrowerkzeuge außerhalb der
Reichweite von Kindern auf und erlauben
Sie Personen, die mit dem Elektrowerkzeug
oder dieser Anleitung nicht vertraut sind,
nicht, das Elektrowerkzeug zu bedienen.
Elektrowerkzeuge stellen in den Händen von
ungeschulten Benutzern eine Gefahr dar.
e) Pflegen Sie Elektrowerkzeuge.
Prüfen Sie auf Fehlausrichtung oder
Blockierung beweglicher Teile, Bruch
von Teilen sowie auf alle anderen
Bedingungen, die den Betrieb des
Elektrowerkzeugs beeinträchtigen
können. Bei einer Beschädigung lassen
Sie das Elektrowerkzeug vor dem weiteren
Gebrauch reparieren. Viele Unfälle werden
durch schlecht gepflegte Elektrowerkzeuge
verursacht.
f) Halten Sie die Schneidwerkzeuge
scharf und sauber. Ordnungsgemäß
gewartete Schneidwerkzeuge mit scharfen
Schneidkanten verklemmen sich seltener und
sind leichter zu kontrollieren.
g) Verwenden Sie das Elektrowerkzeug,
das Zubehör und die Bits usw.
gemäß dieser Anleitung und unter
Berücksichtigung der Bedingungen und der
vorgesehenen Arbeiten. Die Verwendung
des Elektrowerkzeugs für andere als die
vorgesehenen Tätigkeiten kann zu einer
gefährlichen Situation führen.
h) Halten Sie Griffe und Greifflächen immer
trocken, sauber und frei von Öl und Fett.
Rutschige Griffe und Greifflächen verhindern
in unerwarteten Situationen den sicheren
Umgang mit dem Werkzeug und die richtige
Kontrolle darüber.
4) Verwendung und Pflege von Akkus
a) Laden Sie den Akku nur mit dem vom
Hersteller angegebenen Ladegerät auf. Ein
Ladegerät, das für einen Akkutyp geeignet
ist, kann bei Verwendung mit einem anderen
Akkutyp eine Brandgefahr darstellen.
b) Verwenden Sie Elektrowerkzeuge nur mit
den speziell dafür vorgesehenen Akkus.
Bei Verwendung anderer Akkus besteht
Verletzungs- und Brandgefahr.
c) Wenn der Akku nicht in Gebrauch ist, halten
Sie ihn von anderen Metallgegenständen
wie Büroklammern, Münzen, Schlüsseln,
Nägeln, Schrauben oder anderen
kleinen Metallobjekten fern, die einen
Kontakt zwischen den Anschlüssen

herstellen können. Das Kurzschließen von
Batterieanschlüssen kann zu Verbrennungen
oder einem Brand führen.
d) Unter missbräuchlichen Bedingungen
kann Flüssigkeit aus dem Akku austreten;
vermeiden Sie den Kontakt damit. Bei
versehentlichem Kontakt gut mit Wasser
abspülen. Wenn die Flüssigkeit in die Augen
gelangt, suchen Sie zusätzlich einen Arzt
auf. Aus dem Akku austretende Flüssigkeit
kann Reizungen oder Verbrennungen
verursachen.
e) Verwenden Sie keinesfalls Akkus und
Werkzeuge, die beschädigt oder verändert
wurden. Beschädigte oder veränderte Akkus
können ein unvorhersehbares Verhalten
zeigen, das zu Feuer, Explosionen oder
Verletzungsgefahren führt.
f) Setzen Sie Akkus oder Werkzeuge keinem
Feuer oder übermäßigen Temperaturen
aus. Feuer oder Temperaturen über 130 °C
können zu Explosionen führen. HINWEIS: Die
Temperaturangabe „130 °C“ kann durch die
Temperaturangabe „265 °F“ ersetzt werden.
g) Beachten Sie alle Hinweise zum Aufladen
und laden Sie Akkus oder Werkzeuge
nicht außerhalb der in der Anleitung
angegebenen Temperaturbereiche auf.
Unsachgemäßes Aufladen oder Aufladen bei
Temperaturen außerhalb des angegebenen
Bereichs kann den Akku schädigen und die
Brandgefahr erhöhen.
6) Wartung
a) Lassen Sie Ihr Elektrowerkzeug von einer
qualifizierten Fachwerkstatt warten, die
nur identische Ersatzteile verwendet. So
wird sichergestellt, dass die Sicherheit des
Elektrowerkzeugs gewahrt bleibt.
b) Beschädigte Akkus dürfen keinesfalls
gewartet werden. Die Wartung von
Akkus darf nur vom Hersteller oder von
Vertragswerkstätten durchgeführt werden.
2. GERÄTEDATEN
Verwendungszweck
Diese Akku-Astsäge ist nur zum Sägen von Holz
bestimmt. Diese Astsäge ist nicht zum Fällen
von Bäumen geeignet. Das Gerät ist nicht für
andere Anwendungen (z.B. Schneiden von
Mauerwerk, Kunststoff oder Lebensmitteln)
vorgesehen. Die Verwendung der Astsäge für
nicht bestimmungsgemäße Arbeiten kann zu
schweren Verletzungen des Benutzers oder
anderer Personen führen.
Das Gerät ist nicht für den gewerblichen
Gebrauch geeignet.
Das Gerät darf nur von Erwachsenen bedient
werden.
Der Hersteller haftet nicht für Schäden, die durch
nicht bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung oder
fehlerhaften Gebrauch entstanden sind.
Die Akku-Astsäge darf nur von jeweils einer
Person und nur zum Sägen von Ästen verwendet
werden.
Die Astsäge muss mit der rechten Hand am
Handgriff und mit der linken Hand an der
Grifffläche gehalten werden. Vor der Verwendung
der Astsäge muss der Benutzer alle Informationen
und Anweisungen in der Bedienungsanleitung
lesen und verstanden haben. Der Benutzer
muss geeignete persönliche Schutzausrüstung
(PSA) tragen. Mit der Astsäge dürfen nur Äste
abgesägt werden. Materialien wie Kunststoff,
Gestein, Metall oder Holz, die Fremdkörper (z.B.
Nägel oder Schrauben) enthalten, dürfen nicht
bearbeitet werden!

Zum Einschalten des Geräts muss die
Einschaltsperre gelöst werden.

sich das Gerät sofort aus.

Hilft bei speziell entwickelten Kontrollsystemen

Warnung: Der Wert der Vibrationsemission kann
je nach Art der tatsächlichen Verwendung des
Elektrowerkzeugs von dem angegebenen Wert
abweichen.
Versuchen Sie, die Belastung durch
Vibrationen so gering wie möglich zu halten.
Beispiele für Maßnahmen zur Verringerung
der Vibrationsbelastung sind das Tragen von
Handschuhen bei der Benutzung des Werkzeugs
und die Begrenzung der Nutzungsdauer. Dabei
sind alle Abschnitte des Betriebszyklus zu
berücksichtigen (z.B. Zeiten, in denen das Gerät
ausgeschaltet ist, und solche, in denen es zwar
eingeschaltet ist, aber nicht unter Last läuft).

Vorsicht vor Rückschlägen! Seien Sie bei
der Arbeit auf Rückschläge durch das
Gerät gefasst. Es besteht
Verletzungsgefahr. Sie können
Rückschläge vermeiden, indem Sie
vorsichtig arbeiten und korrekte
Sägetechniken anwenden.

ein Rückschlag kann auftreten, wenn die Nase
oder die Spitze des Führungsschwerts einen
Gegenstand berührt oder wenn das angesägte
Holz die Sägekette einklemmt (siehe Abb. 1, Teil
B). Der Kontakt der Spitze kann unter Umständen
eine plötzliche Umkehrreaktion auslösen, bei der
das Führungsschwert heftig nach oben und zum
Bediener zurückgedrückt wird (siehe Abb. 1, Teil A).
Wenn die Sägekette am oberen Ende des
Führungsschwerts eingeklemmt wird, kann
das Führungsschwert plötzlich zum Bediener
zurückgedrückt werden.
Jede dieser Reaktionen kann zu einem Verlust
der Kontrolle über die Säge und zu schweren
Verletzungen führen. Verlassen Sie sich daher
nicht ausschließlich auf die in der Astsäge
eingebauten Sicherheitsvorrichtungen. Als
Benutzer der Astsäge sollten Sie verschiedene
Maßnahmen ergreifen, um unfall- und
verletzungsfrei zu arbeiten.
Rückschlag ist die Folge eines falschen oder
fehlerhaften Gebrauchs des Werkzeugs. Er kann
durch geeignete Vorsichtsmaßnahmen, wie
nachfolgend beschrieben, verhindert werden:
a) Halten Sie die Säge mit beiden Händen gut
fest, wobei Daumen und Finger die Griffe
umschließen, und positionieren Sie Körper
und Arm so, dass Sie Rückschlagkräften
widerstehen können. Rückschlagkräfte
können besser kontrolliert werden, wenn
entsprechende Vorsichtsmaßnahmen getroffen
werden. Lassen Sie die Kettensäge nicht los.
b) Vermeiden Sie eine abnormale Arbeitshaltung
und sägen Sie nicht über Schulterhöhe.
Dadurch verhindern Sie unbeabsichtigten
Kontakt mit der Schienenspitze und haben
in unvorhergesehenen Situationen bessere
Kontrolle über die Astsäge.
c) Verwenden Sie als Ersatz nur die vom
Hersteller genannten Sägeschwerter und
-ketten. Falsche Sägeschwerter und -ketten
können einen Bruch der Kette bzw. einen
Rückschlag verursachen.
d) Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen des
Herstellers der Sägekette zum Nachschärfen
und zur Wartung. Eine Verringerung der
Tiefenbegrenzerhöhe kann zu einem erhöhten
Rückschlagrisiko führen.
Weitere Sicherheitshinweise
• Halten Sie sich genau an die Wartungs-,
Prüfungs- und Instandhaltungsanweisungen in
dieser Anleitung.
• Beschädigte Schutzvorrichtungen und Teile
müssen repariert oder ausgetauscht werden,
sofern in dieser Anleitung nicht anders
angegeben.
• Es wird empfohlen, dass ein Erstanwender
zumindest das Sägen von Holzstücken an
einem Sägeblock oder -rahmen übt.
• Stellen Sie sich bei Sägearbeiten an Hängen
immer oberhalb des Stammes hin. Um
beim Durchsägen die vollständige Kontrolle
zu behalten, verringern Sie am Ende des
Schnittes den Druck, ohne dabei den Griff
an der Säge zu lockern. Achten Sie darauf,
dass die Sägekette nicht den Boden berührt.
Warten Sie nach dem Schnitt, bis die Astsäge
zum Stillstand gekommen ist, bevor Sie sie
wegnehmen. Schalten Sie den Motor der
Astsäge immer aus, bevor Sie zum nächsten
Baum wechseln.
• Schmutz, Steine, lose Rinde, Nägel, Klammern
und Drähte müssen vom Baum entfernt
werden.
• Verwenden Sie kein Zubehör, das nicht
empfohlen wird. Andernfalls kann es zu einem
Stromschlag oder Brand kommen.
• Dieses Werkzeug ist nicht zur Verwendung
durch Personen (einschließlich Kinder) mit
eingeschränkten körperlichen, sensorischen
oder geistigen Fähigkeiten oder mangelnder
Erfahrung und mangelndem Wissen
vorgesehen, es sei denn, sie wurden von
einer für ihre Sicherheit verantwortlichen
Person beaufsichtigt oder in die Verwendung
