Whenevertherearefacilitiesforfittingadust
extractionsystem,makesureitisconnectedand

BEFOREOPERATINGTHEMACHINE:
•Checkthefollowing:
Do the voltage of the machine correspond with the
mains voltage
Are the mains lead and the mains plug in a good
condition.
•Donotuseextensioncableswhicharetoolong.Use
extensioncableswithacorediameterof1.5mm2
minimalandonlywhenthecableisrolledout
completely.
•Incaseofablockage,switchofthemachine
immediately.
•Alwayscomparethemaximumrotationspeedof
accesoireswiththemaximumspeedofthe
percussiondrill.
•Pullthemainsplugfromthesocketbeforeyou
changeadrilloraccessory.
WHENOPERATINGTHEMACHINE:
•Checkiftheswitchisplacedinthe‘OFF’-position
beforeyouconnectthemachinetomains.
•Keepthemainscableawayfrommovingpartsofthe
machine.
•Firstswitchoffthemachinebeforeyoumovethe
machinedownwardsalongyourbody.
•Nevercovertheventilationslots.
IMMEDIATELYSWITCHOFFTHEMACHINE
INCASEOF:
•Excessivesparkingofthebrushesandverticiliosisin
thecollector.
•Malfunctionofthemainsplug,-socketordamaged
cables.
•Brokenswitch.
•Smokeorsmellcausedbyscorchedinsulation.

safetyregulationsapplicableinyourcountryto
reducetheriskoffire,electricshockandpersonal

Always check that the power supply corresponds to
the voltage on the rating plate.
Your machine is double insulated in accordance
with EN 50144; therefore no earthwire is required.
Replacingcablesorplugs
Immediatelythrowawayoldcablesorplugswhenthey
havebeenreplacedbynewones.Itisdangeroustoinsert
theplugofaloosecableinthewalloutlet.
Usingextensioncables
Onlyuseanapprovedextensioncablesuitableforthe
powerinputofthemachine.Theminimumconductor
sizeis1.5mm2.Whenusingacablereelalwaysunwind
thereelcompletely.

withahexagonalshaft.
• Loosenthechuckbyrotatingthehandgrip(A).
• Insertthedrill/bitintothechuck.
• Tightenthechucksothatthedrill/bitisfirmly
clamped.

machinewillturnoff.
SWITCH-LOCK
• YoucanlocktheOn/Offswitchbypressingthe
triggerswitch(A)andthenpressingknob(B).Release
theswitch-lockbypressingthetriggerswitch(A)
shortly.
SPEED-CONTROL
• Therotation-speedcanbecontinuouslyadjusted
between0and2500rotationsperminuteby
pressingtheswitch(A)deeperorlessdeep.
ADJUSTINGOFTHEMAXIMUM

• Switchthemachineonbypressingtriggerswitch(A).
• Lockthetriggerswitch(A)bypressingknob(B).
• Adjustthespeedbyturningthesmallwheel(C)to
thedesiredmaximumrotationspeed.

MALFUNCTION
Belowwehavelistedanumberofpossiblecausesand
correspondingsolutionsincasethemachinedoesnot
functionasitshould:
1. Excessivesparkling
• Thisuselyindicatesdirtinthemotororworndown
carbonbrushes.
Bring your percussion drill to your Ferm-dealer.
2. Thepercussiondrillisoverheating
• Theventilationslotsarecoveredwithdirt.
Clean them with a dry cloth.
• Thepercussiondrillisoverloaded.
Use the machine for work for which it is ment to be.
Replace the drill for a sharp one or sharpen the drill by
using a benchgrinder and a twist drill grinding
attachment.
• Themotorisdefect.
Bring your percussion drill to your Ferm-dealer for
repairance.
