Safety information and general warnings
•Read these instructions fully and make sure you understand the manual
and labels affixed to the pole chainsaw before use.
•This appliance is approved solely for use in accordance with the
description and safety instructions specified in this user manual.
•Before starting work ensure that the area is cleared of any obstacles.
Always keep your work area clear.
•Never wear loose clothing, shorts or jewellery whilst using the pole
chainsaw and wear closed, solid shoes with a good grip.
•Wear appropriate personal protective clothing during use, such as eye
and hearing protection.
•Do not overreach. Always keep a firm footing and maintain your balance
during operation. Do not use the pole chainsaw whilst on a ladder.
•Do not use the pole chainsaw close to flammable materials or in dry dusty
environments.
•Store in a cool dry place away from animals and children.
•Check the pole chainsaw and cable regularly for any damage before
use, do not use if it has been dropped or damaged.
•Suitable for outdoor use only.
•Do not use in wet weather, wet areas or in areas where gases or other
flammable materials are stored.
•Not suitable for use in frozen or snowy conditions.
•Do not use in wet or windy conditions.
•If operating the product in damp conditions is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
•Only use an approved extension cable suitable for the power input of the
machine, the minimum conductor size is 1.5mm2.
•When using a cable reel, always unwind the reel completely.
•Inadequate extension cords can be dangerous. If an extension cord is
used, it must be suitable for outdoor use, and the connection must be
kept dry and off the ground.
•Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
•Keep the pole chainsaw in good clean condition.
•Do not use the pole chainsaw if you are tired or under the influence of
drugs or alcohol.

•Do not operate the pole chainsaw near electrical cables, telephone lines,
pipes or hoses.
•If the pole chainsaw strikes a foreign object, turn it off immediately and
check for damage.
•Do not put hands, feet or any other body part or clothing near the blades.
•The product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety.
•Do not attempt to modify the product. Any such modification or misuse
could result in a hazardous condition leading to serious injury.
•If any parts are damaged or missing, do not operate until the parts are
replaced.
•Do not force the product. It will do a better job with less likelihood of a risk
of injury when you operate it at the rate for which it was designed.
•Make sure the power rating on the plug matches the outlet.
•Do not use any adaptor plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric
shock.
•Before use make sure that the pole chainsaw is correctly assembled, and
all parts are securely attached.
