Installing the Battery
&WARNING
Thi product contain alithium-ion battery.
To prevent damage or personal injury.
remove the unit from the vehicle when
exiting or tore it out of direct unlight.
1. Locate the lithium-ion battery that came in
the product box.
2. Slide the release key until the battery
cover on the back of the zOmo pops up.
3. Locate the metal contacts on the end of
the lithium-ion battery.
4. Insert the battery so that the metal
contacts on the battery match with
the metal contacts inside the battery
compartment.
5. Replace battery cover.

Configuring Your zOmo
To turn on your zumo, pres the 6 Power
button. Follow the on- crcen in truction .
Acquiring Satellites
1. Go outdoors to an open area, out of
garages, and away from tall buildings.
2. Stop your vehicle, and turn on the zOmo.
Acquiring atellite ignal may take a few
minute. The. I bars indicate GP
atellite strength. When one bar i green. the
Zlllno has acquired atellite ignal. 0\ ou
can elect a de tination and navigate to it.

Following Your Route
Your route i marked with a magenta line.

If you depart from th route, the zumo
recalculate the rOllte and provides nell
direction.
To search for a location in a different area,

Adding aStop
1. With a route active, touch Menu> Where
To?
2. Search for the extra stop.
3. Touch Gol.
4. Touch Add as a Via Point to add this
stop before your destination.
TI P: To add more than one stop, edit the
current route. Touch Where To? > eu tom
Routes.
Finding Points of Interest
1. Touch Where To? >Points of Interest.
2. Select a category and a subcategory.
3. Select a destination, and touch Gol.
To enter letter contained in the name, louch

Receiving XM® Satellite
Signals
Because your ziimo came with a GXM
40 antenna, you can receive XM satellite
signals. Some features, such as XM
NavTraffic™, XM NavWeather™, and XM
Radio, require XM satellite signals.
A subscription to XM services is required
to access XM NavTraffic, XM NavWeather,
and XM Radio features. For more
information on XM subscriptions, go to
www.garmin.com/xm.
NOTE: XM service is only available in
North America and may not be available in
all areas.
Subscribing to XM Radio
1. With the GXM 40 antenna connected to
your zOmo, touch Tools> Settings> XM
Subscriptions> Subscribe.
2. Follow the subscription instructions, and
then touch Next.

3. Verify your XM subscription information,
and then touch Next.
4. Touch Power Off XM to save your XM
subscriptions.
Listening to XM Radio
1. With the GXM 40 antenna connected to
your zOmo, touch Tools> Media Player.
2. Touch Source until the XM Radio player
appears. The signal-strength bars are in
the upper-right corner of the screen.
3. Select an option to listen to XM radio:
• Touch @) and Ei) to select a station.
• Touch Browse to browse available
stations by category.
• Touch 123 to enter a station number.
• Touch \!) to adjust the volume of the
XM radio player.
• Touch Save> OK to save a station as
a preset.
Using XM NavTraffic
NOTE: XM NavTraffic is not available in
all areas. Garmin is not responsible for the
accuracy of the traffic information.
With the GXM 40 antenna connected, and
when you are receiving traffic information, a
traffic icon appears in the upper-right comer
of the Map page. The traffic icon changes
color to indicate the severity of traffic
conditions on your route or on the road you
are currently traveling. Tap the traffic icon to
show the following options:
• Show Traffic Map-view the traffic
map.
• Traffic Search-view a list of traffic
delays and details about the delays.
Using XM NavWeather
NOTE: XM NavWeather is not available in
all areas. Garmin is not responsible for the
accuracy of the weather information.
1. With the GXM 40 antenna connected,
touch Tools> Weather.
2. Touch Forecast, Radar,
Road Conditions, or Weather Bulletins
to view up-to-date information for your
current location.

NOTE: With the GXM 40 antenna
connected, and when you are receiving
weather information, a weather icon appears
in the lower-right comer of the Map page.
Tap the icon to receive up-to-date weather
information for your current location.
Enabling Fuel Tracking
When connected to the motorcycle mount,
your zumo can alert you when your fuel tank
is low.
1. Touch Tools> Settings> Fuel Gauge.
2. Under Fuel Tracking, select On. A Fuel
Gauge appears under the compass on
the map page.
3. Under Distance Per Tank, enter the total
distance your motorcycle can travel on a
tank of fuel.
4. Under Low Fuel Warning, choose when
you would like to be notified that your fuel
tank is low.
Using Hands-free Calling
Using Bluetooth technology, your zumo can
connect to your mobile phone to become a

hands- free device.
To pair and connect, your device and the
zumo must be within 10 meters of each other
and turned on. The zumo can be connected to
a phone and a headset at the same time.
To determine whether your device with
Bluetooth technology is compatible with the
zumo, go to www.garmin.com/bluetooth.
Pairing the zQmo with Your
Mobile Phone
1. Touch Tools> Settings> Bluetooth.
2. Under Bluetooth, touch Enabled.
3. Under Phone, touch Add (or Change).
4. Enable the Bluetooth component on your
phone. Enable Find Me/Discoverable/
Visible mode. These settings might be in
a Bluetooth, Connections, or Hands-free
menu.
5. Touch OK on the zOmo.
6. Select your phone, and touch OK.
7. Enter 1234 into your phone.
Pairing aWireless Headset
1. Touch Tools> Settings> Bluetooth.
2. Under Bluetooth, touch Enabled.
3. Under Audio, touch Add (or Change).
4. Turn on your headset, and enable
Find Me/Discoverable/Visible mode, if
necessary.
5. Touch OK on the zOmo.
6. Select your headset, and touch OK.
7. Enter the Bluetooth PIN/passkey for your
headset, if necessary, and touch Done.
8. Touch OK.
Receiving aCall
When you receive a call, the Incoming Call
window appears. Touch Answer to answer
the call. Touch Ignore to ignore the call and
silence the ring.
Calling aNumber
1. Touch Phone> Dial.
2. Enter the number, and touch Dial.
3. To end the call, touch &.

Loading Files on Your zClmo
1. Insert a memory card (optional).
2. Connect the USB cable.
3. Transfer files to the zOmo.
4. Eject and unplug the USB cable.
Listening to MP3 Files
1. Touch Tools> Media Player> Source.
2. Touch Browse> a category> Play All.
Locking Your zOmo
1. Touch Tools> Settings> Security.
2. Touch the button below Garmin Lock.
3. Enter a 4-digit PIN and drive to a security
location.
NOTE: If you forget your PIN and your
security location, you must send your zumo
and valid product registration or proof
of purchase to Garmin to get your zumo
unlocked.
Resetting the zumo
If the zumo screen stops functioning, tum the
zumo off and on again. If this does not help,

press and hold the" Power key and hold it
for 8 seconds. Tum the zumo back on. The
zumo should operate normally.

Incorrectly wiring the power cable with bare wir leads can re ult in damage to the vehicle or
the battery and can cause bodily injury. Garmin strongly recommends having an experienced
in taller with the proper knowledge of electrical systems install the unit.
See the Important Safety and Product Information guide in the product box for product
warning and other important information.

Step 1: Connecting Power to the Mount
Select a uitable and secure location to mount the zumo on your motorcycle, based on
a ailable power sources and safe cable routing.

Step 2: Installing the Handlebar Base
NOTICE
The recommended torque i 50 Ibf-in. Do not exceed torque of 80 Ibf-in.
The zumo includes parts for two handlebar installation solution. Custom mounts can require
additional hardware (www.ram-mount.com).
Option A: Installing the U-bolt and Handlebar Base:
1. Place the U-bolt around the handlebar, and thread the ends through the handlebar base.
2. Tighten the nuts to secure the base. Do not overtighten.

Option B: Installing the Handlebar Base to the Clutch/Brake Clamp Bracket:
&WARNING
Incorrectly installing the handlebar base to the clutch/brake bracket can cause brake or clutch
malfunction, which can result in damage to the vehicle and the risk of personal injury or death.
Garmin strongly recommends having an experienced installer with the proper knowledge of
clutch/brake ystems ins~ the unit. __ __ _ __

OTE: Both 1/4 in. standard and M6 bolts are included. Match the size of the factory bolts on
your clutch/brake clamp bracket.
1. Remove the two factory bolts on your clutch/brake clamp bracket.
2. Thread the new bolts through the handlebar base, spacers, and clamp bracket.
3. Tighten the bolts to secure the base.

Step 3: Attaching the Base Plate to the zumo Mount
1.' Thread the M4 x 40 mm panhead screws through the washers, cradle, spacers, and base
plate.
2. Tighten the nuts to secure the base plate.

Step 4: Attaching the Base Plate to the Handlebar Base
1. Align the ball of the handlebar base and the ball of the base plate with the double-socket
arm. Base plate
2. Tighten the knob slightly. Double-socket
3. Adjust for better viewing and operation. Cradle arm
4. Tighten the knob to secure the mount.
Step 5: Installing Your zumo in
the Mount
1. Fit the bottom of your zOmo into the cradle.
2. Tilt the zOmo back until it snaps into place.
