Gerber Technology GPS-2000 User manual

GPS-2000 Gerber Prime Switch
Figure 1
The smart switch box is a Z-WaveTM enabled wireless device fully compatible with
any Z-WaveTM enabled networks. This device is a security enabled Z-Wave Plus
product that uses encrypted Z-Wave Plus messages to communicate to other
security enabled Z-Wave Plus products. Z-WaveTM enabled devices displaying the Z-
WaveTM logo can also be used with this device regardless of the manufacturer and
this device can also be used in other manufacturer’s Z-WaveTM enabled networks.
This device must be used in conjunction with a Security Enabled Z-Wave Controller
in order to fully utilize all functions. Inclusion of this unit on other manufacturer’s
Wireless Controller menu allows remote operation of the unit and connected load.
Remote control of Dimmer/Relay modules are possible with other manufacturer’s
wireless Controller as well. GPS-2000 is designed to act as a repeater. Repeaters
will re-transmit the RF signal to ensure that the signal is received by its intended
destination by routing the signal around obstacles and radio dead spots. Its
functionality and supported command classes are identical when included as a
secure and non-secure device.
Adding to Z-WaveTM Network
In the front case there are nine touch screen buttons with LED light indicators which
are used to turn switches on and off or carry out inclusion exclusion and reset.
The table below provides an operation summary of basic Z-Wave functions. Please
refer to the instructions of your Z-WaveTM Certificated Primary Controller to access
the Set-up function and to Add/Remove/Associate Devices

SmartStart 1. SmartStart enabled products can be
added into a Z-Wave network by
scanning the Z-Wave QR Code on
the product with a controller
providing SmartStart inclusion. No
further action is required and the
SmartStart product will be added
automatically to the closest network
within 10 minutes of being switched
on in the network vicinity.

2. The product has a DSK string. For
example : 44092-23875-12431-
52375-41125-14558-37629-65457
User can find QR Code and DSK
string on our product package and
product.
Association 1. The GPS-2000 is an always listening
Z-Wave device so associations
be added or removed by a controller
at any time.
Or If your controller requires to have
the GPS-2000 send a 'node infor-
mation frame' or NIF for associa-
tions pressing the middle button
(button⑤) three times within 2 sec-
onds will cause the GPS-2000 to
send its NIF.
The green LED will light on⑤
when every pressing and light
off when every releasing. User
should check LED whether⑤
it accepted the pressing or not.
2. There are 9 groups for the switch
Adding a node ID assigned by Z-Wave Controller means inclusion. Removing a node
ID assigned by Z-Wave Controller means exclusion.
Either failure or success when including/excluding the node ID can be viewed from the
Z-Wave Controller.
LE light Indication
To distinguish which module is in use you can view the LED light for identification.
State Type LE Indication
Relay
module
The LED ① or ⑦ will change color from blue to green when the
corresponding relay module 1 or 2 turns on. Conversely it will change
color from green to blue when relay module 1 or 2 turns off.
Dimmer
module
The LED ③ or ⑨ will change color from blue to green when the
corresponding dimmer module 3 or 4 turns on. Conversely it will change
color from green to blue when the corresponding dimmer module 3 or 4
turns off.
Smart

Whenever the smart button ②、④、 ⑥or ⑧ is triggered by one short
pressing and the related green LED will light on one time. Whenever the
smart button ②、④、 ⑥or ⑧ is triggered by two short pressing the related
green LED will light on two times. User should check the related green
LED whether it accepted the pressing or not.
Choosing a Suitable Location for Installation
1. The suitable room temperature for the Switch is between 0°C~40°C.
2. Do not place the Switch near combustible substances or any source of heat e.g.
fires radiators boiler etc.
3

3. After bringing into use the Switch case shell might become a hot this
phenomenon is normal.
Installation and Operation
1. Connect GPS-2000 into a plug near the relay/dimmer to be controlled.
2. Connect the load to the PNA26 module. Make sure the load to be controlled
doesn’t exceed 10A (Resistive Load). Please note that the loads attached to
NO.3 and NO.4 should be dimmable LED because it is controlled by dimmer
module. The wire connection please refer to Figure1 in the first page.
3. Toggle the button switch on the load to the ON position and it will show green
light.
4. To manually turn ON the module short press the ①、
③、
⑦ or ⑨ button. The
green LED light will turn ON.
5. To manually turn OFF the module short press the ①、
③、
⑦ or ⑨ button. The
blue LED light will turn ON and the load connected to the module will also be
turned OFF.
6. The ②、④、⑥ and ⑧ buttons are smart buttons which can send central
scene command to group 1 and Basic_Set command to group 3、5、6 or 8.
