5. Installing the SIM card
Use the supplied screwdriver to open the back
cover of the locator; insert the SIM card into
the SIM card slot. Ensure that the SIM card
is congured for the GSM network, is able
to display the caller’s number, has no call
forwarding enabled and that the PIN code is

format; the locator does not recognise PDU
format. Connect the positive (red) and negative
(black) cable to the vehicle’s power supply
system (see paragraph 7. Installation of the
device), wait 1 minute after connection for the
localiser to activate and operate normally; then
switch on the backup battery switch.
After checking everything, close the device
compartment.
6. Function of LEDs
When switched on, the LEDs on the top of the front panel illuminate.
The central red LED with the battery symbol lights up steadily during charging, otherwise it is o and
will ash only when the backup battery is low; the backup battery intervenes in the event of a main
power failure and provides about 12 hours of autonomy.
The blue LED with the satellite symbol will ash every second if there is good GPS signal coverage;
if there is no GPS coverage the LED will remain o.
The green LED in GSM mode will blink every second if there is sucient network coverage, and
in GPRS mode the LED will blink every 3 seconds; if there is no network coverage it will be lit
continuously.
7. Installation and positioning of the device
N.B.: N.B.: Have the device installed by qualied personnel. Do not install in
a location that restricts the GSM function. Install away from dust, water and
moisture. This device is equipped with a motion detector (triaxial accelerometer)
and a schock sensor. It is essential to x the device properly to a rigid support
inside the passenger compartment, taking care to conceal it from view, if possible

8. Initialising the device
N.B.: from now on, the commands to be sent to the device via SMS will be shown, the inverted
commas “”””, the “+” symbol and the word “space” should not be written in full in the message, they
are only used in this instruction booklet to indicate the formatting of the commands to be sent to the
localiser.
Send an SMS with “begin + password” to the localiser; the localiser will reply with an SMS with the
message “begin OK”.
(Default password: 123456) For example: send SMS “begin123456”, locator reply “begin ok”.
9.Setting the administrator number
The administrator phone number, in addition to being able to receive the location information of the
device, is able to carry out fundamental setting operations such as initialisation and reset.
From the master mobile phone, send a text message with the text “admin+password+mobile phone
number” to set an authorised number.
Other numbers can always be set from the rst authorised number. If the authorisation is successful,
the unit will reply with an SMS with the text “admin ok!
Example: Send SMS “admin123456 3471234567”, locator reply “admin ok”.
10. Changing your password
To change the password, send an SMS with the words “password+old password+new password”
to the localiser. Example: If the old password is 123456 and the new password is 888888, send
“password123456 888888” to the localiser; the localiser will reply with the SMS: “Password OK”.

The new password 888888 has been successfully changed.
It is important to remember the password as you will be asked for it when you want to reset the
device to factory settings.
The new password must consist of 6 Arabic numbers, otherwise the tracker will not recognise it.
11. Authorisations
You can manage the locator from 5 dierent phone numbers; it is important to set up the authorised
phone numbers and the administrator number before use.
If there are no authorised numbers, when any phone number contacts the locator it will respond with
location information.
If there is at least one authorised or administrator number in the phonebook of the localiser, the
localiser will not respond when contacted by a non-stored number.
11.1 Setting an authorised number
Authorised telephone numbers are enabled to receive information regarding the position of the
vehicle.
Use your mobile phone to call the tracker SIM card 10 times within 45 minutes. To carry out the
procedure correctly, after each call, wait until you receive the sms containing the coordinates and
only after receiving it, make the next call.
This will ensure that the mobile phone number is automatically stored in the phone book, when the
tracker responds with a conrmation sms “add master OK” the procedure will be completed.
11.2 Deleting an authorised number
Send the tracker an SMS with the words “noadmin+password+space+number to delete”.
Example: Send SMS “noadmin123456 3471234567”, locator reply “noadmin ok”.
11.3 Tracking the tracker when in another country
When you are in a country other than the one where the device is normally used, you need to send
an SMS to the device by entering the international country code before the phone number.
Example: “admin123456 00393471234567 “where 123456 is the password,0039 is the country code
and 3471234567 is the authorised number.
12. Punctual position
When an authorised number calls the device by making a voice call, it terminates the call after two
rings. The tracker sends a reply SMS with the geographical coordinates.
If location tracking is requested in the absence of a GPS signal, the device is tracked via LBS /
CELL-ID. The SMS returned by the device includes two positions: the GPS coordinates of the last
detected position and the LAC code.
Go to www.gpstrackerxy.com and type, after registering, the LAC code received and the CELL-ID in
the spaces provided; it will be searched using LBS technology.
13.Continuous self tracking
13.1 Tracking with dened time intervals
Send an SMS with the words “x030s005n + password” to the device.
The device sends an SMS with latitude and longitude at 30 second intervals 5 times.
(s: seconds, m: minutes, h: hours).

7
Installation and user manual
This set of commands must be 3 digits long and the maximum value must be 255.
13.2 Tracking with unlimited number of times in time interval
Send an SMS with the words “x030s030m *** n + password” to the device. The device
continuously sends an SMS containing latitude and longitude at intervals of 30 seconds when ACC
(Auto track continuously) is on and every 30 minutes when ACC is o.
Note: The interval must not be less than 10 seconds.
14. Intelligent tracking based on time and distance interval Activation
Before using this function you must select “track with unlimited times upon time interval” and send
the device an SMS containing the text “distance+ password+space+distance”;
the detector will send an SMS containing “Distance ok”, and will locate both the preset time and
distance.
For example: Send “distance123456 0050”, means the distance is 50 meters (the number must be 4
digits and in Arabic numerals).
Set this function on a web server: rst set the time interval and then the distance interval; the tracker
will track according to time and distance.
Deactivation
Send the tracker an SMS with the text “nox+password” to cancel the auto tracking.
15. Automatic route conditioned by direction
Unique function for monitoring via WEB/GPRS platform.
The tracker will automatically update positions to the web server once the vehicle changes direction
from the pre-set directional angle value, with reference to the hypothetical smooth trajectory
consistent with the real road it is travelling.
The tracker will automatically update its positions to the web server when the vehicle changes
direction from the pre-set direction angle value, with reference to the hypothetical smooth trajectory
consistent with the real road it is driving on.
Send the ‘angle+password+space+value of maximum angle’ message to the tracker.
The angle value must always be indicated with 3 digits; e.g. ‘angle123456030’ indicates a maximum
allowed deviation of 30 degrees from the route of the main road.
16. Automatic route with exclusion of stops
To exclude position detection during stops, send the message “suppress+password” to the tracker
and you will receive a conrmation “suppress drift ok”.
In this case, the system will not detect the position if the vehicle is stationary or if the location data is
identical to the last detected position. When motion is resumed, monitoring continues.
To deactivate this function send an SMS to the localiser with the text: “nosuppress+password”; the
localiser sends a reply SMS with the message “nosuppress OK”.
17. Address location on navigation device
You need to set the APN of your local GSM network on the tracker SIM before using this feature.
(Please refer to paragraph 6.27 to congure the APN).
After conguring the APN, send an SMS with the text “address + password” to the tracker device, it
will reply with an SMS containing the correct name/address. For example: No.113, Nantou Guankou
2nd Road. Nanshan district, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

8

18. Localisation via LBS
When the tracker does not receive valid GPS signals, it signals the location via the GSM network
Location Based Service (LBS); the messages include the GPS coordinates of the last position in
SMS mode, but the LAC value in the message is the new current position from GSM.
The position can be displayed by entering the LAC code in the “Manual Track” menu of the web
platform www.gpstrackerxy.com; it is also possible to send the command “address + password” to
the locator to get the new absolute address and the relative GPS coordinates.
The localiser automatically transforms the location into GPRS and represents them on the web
server map via LBS.
It is possible that there is some inaccuracy in the detection made via LBS monitoring; the inaccuracy
depends on the GSM reception.
Note: This service can be used normally in most areas depending on the GSM network signal. It
may not be available in some areas.
19. Environmental monitoring
In this mode, the user can call the localiser to monitor the environmental voice; the device will
answer the call and allow listening, without making any sound.
To switch to the environmental monitoring mode, an SMS containing the text “monitor+password”
must be sent to the localiser; the localiser will respond with a message containing the text
“monitor ok!”. To switch to the environmental monitoring mode, send an SMS containing the text
“monitor+password” to the localiser and it will respond with a message containing the text “monitor
ok!”.
To return to “track” mode, send an SMS with the message “tracker+password” to the localiser; the
localiser will reply with a message containing the text “tracker ok!”.
20. Data storage
The device has a memory card slot for storing readings.
20.1 Auto registration
When the tracker loses GSM signals but not GPRS signals, it records position values and alerts
automatically to the SD card based on the preset conditions; when GSM signals are still present, all
event alerts are automatically sent to authorised numbers or to the monitoring platform (server), but
the recorded monitoring data must be uploaded to the monitoring platform via SMS command.
20.2Recording on command
To activate the recording on the card, an SMS containing the message “savexxxsyyyn+password”
must be sent to the localiser; the localiser sends an SMS with the message “save OK”. xxx is the
detection interval in seconds and yyyy is the maximum number of detections.
The interval can be expressed in “s” seconds, “m” minutes, “h” hours, but always indicated with 3
digits.
For an unlimited detection, replace the “y” with the character * (asterisk); the locator sends an SMS
with the message “save OK”
20.3 Deleting registrations
To delete all recordings on the card, send an SMS to the localiser with the text “clear+password”;
the localiser sends an SMS with the message “save OK”.
The amount of information that can be stored depends on the capacity of the card used.
20.4 Data import
Data recorded on the SD card can be copied to a computer using a card reader Micro SD, and

9
Installation and user manual
then imported and displayed on the web monitoring platform www.gpstrackerxy.com , via the “Data
Import” function.
20.5 Loading data
Send an SMS to the localiser with the message “load+password” the recorded data with the current
calendar date will be downloaded automatically to the active monitoring platform.
The localiser will send an SMS with the message “load OK” if the localiser is operating in GPRS
mode; if it is not operating in this mode it will send the message “load fail! Please check gprs”.
20.6 Automatic data loading
To automatically load the recorded data for a dierent day on the active monitoring platform, send
an SMS to the localiser with the text “load+password+space+year month day”; the localiser will
send an SMS with the message “load OK”.
For example, the message “load123456 20110425” allows to import on the platform the data related
to 25 April 2011, if present in the memory.
21. Checking incoming messages and remaining credit
You can ask the device to forward messages received on the SIM card from a certain number to
authorised numbers; this function is normally dedicated to forwarding messages from the card’s
telephone operator (e.g. to display conrmations of credit top-up messages).
To activate the function, send an SMS with the words “forward+password+sender’s telephone
number
sender’s phone number”.
To suspend the service send an SMS with the text “noforward+password”.
22. Checking remaining credit
To check the remaining credit on the card you can send an SMS with the words
“balance+password+service number+space+command text” and the reply will be sent to the
authorised numbers.
The service number eld represents the destination number of the residual credit request and the
command text eld the sequence required by the operator to return the residual credit.
23. Motion alarm ACC
This function is deactivated by default.
23.1 ACC motion alarm activation
To activate this function send an SMS to the tracker with the text “ACC+password” and the tracker

24. Engine block
N.B.: This function is only valid if the engine block relay is connected.
Send an SMS with the text “stop+password” to the localiser; the localiser will reply with “Stop engine
Succeed” and will stop the car’s engine as soon as the car’s speed has fallen below 20 Km/h (to
avoid accidents); it will remain in a motionless state until the reset command is received.
If you want to lock the power supply, regardless of the current speed, send SMS
“quickstop+password” which will cause the vehicle to lock instantly.
To deactivate this mode and return to speed-dependent control, send an SMS with the text
“noquickstop+password”; the tracker will send an SMS with the text “noquickstop OK”.
25. Activate alarm mode
To activate the alarm mode, you need to send an SMS to the tracker with the text “arm+password”
(or silent+password to activate silent mode, if a siren has also been installed).
The tracker will reply “Tracker is activated” in both states, armed and disarmed; if the car is running
it is not possible to activate the alarm, as the tracker detects that the ACC voltage is high; in this
case the tracker will send an SMS with the message “set up fail! pls turn o ACC”. The user has to
stop the engine (the ACC ignition sensor has to detect low voltage), and then send again an SMS
with the message “arm+password”.
If the engine is switched o, but one of the doors is open, the alarm cannot be triggered; the device
will send an SMS with the text “set up fail! pls close the door”.
26. Deactivating the alarm mode
Send an SMS with the text “disarm + password” to the tracker.
The tracker sends an SMS with the message “Tracker is deactivated”; now all sensors are
deactivated.
The sensors will not be reactivated if the car is running, as the tracker detects that the ACC voltage
is high; the same happens if the engine is o, but one of the doors is open.
27 SOS function
Press the SOS button for 3 seconds, the locator will send SMS with the message “help me! +
latitude/longitude” to all authorised numbers every 3 minutes.
The sending of SMS by the tracker will stop only when the tracker receives an SMS with the
message “help me!” from one of the authorised numbers.
28. Silent Mode
N.B.: This function is only valid if a siren (optional) is installed.
To set the silent mode via SMS you need to send an SMS to the localiser with the message
“silent+password”; it will reply “silent ok!”.

triggered, but the tracker will send the alarm via SMS to the authorised number.
To deactivate “silent mode” send an SMS containing the text “loud+password” to the tracker device,
it will reply “loud ok!”.
This means that the tracker has exited silent mode, the alarm siren will sound, and you will also be
able to send SMS alarm to the authorised number.

11
Installation and user manual
29. Frequency of alarm message sending
You can decide how many times the alarm messages are to be sent.
Send an SMS containing the message “xtime+password+005” to the localiser and the message will
be sent 5 times after an alarm is detected.
The SMS alarm message is sent 5 times by default.
30. Locator signals
30.1 Low battery backup alarm
When the backup battery voltage of the localiser is low (close to 3.55V), it will send 2 SMS with
the message “low battery+latitude/longitude”, to the authorised number with 15 minutes interval
between each message.
To abort the alert send an SMS with the message “lowbattery+password+space+o” to the localiser.
30.2 Power failure alarm
This function is activated by default. When the power is switched o, the device sends an SMS
“extpoweralarm+latitude/longitude” to the authorised numbers with 3 minutes between each
message.
To deactivate the function send an SMS to the locator with the message
“extpower+password+space+o.”
30.3 Loss of gps signal
To activate the GPS signal loss warning function, send an SMS with the message

longitude+space+areaname, distanceM”, where latitude and longitude represent a geographical
point and distance the value of the radius to be tracked; the unit of distance from the point (radius)
can be expressed in metres (M) or kilometres (K).
If the command is correct, the tracker acquires the area and assigns the position (1 to 5), depending
on the free positions.
of free positions.
The tracker will respond by sending an SMS with the message “area01ok”.
Areaname is a free text eld to allow the user to locate the area (e.g. ‘school’).
ATTENTION:it is not possible to dene dierent areas covering any geographical point already
included in another already dened area, so, simplifying with arithmetic values, if an area starting
from point 5 covers up to 3 metres (therefore from 2.01 to 7.99), another area cannot be dened
with values intersecting the area from 2.01 to 7.99).
To delete an area send the command: “noarea+password+space+area name” to the locator. To
rename a previously dened area send the command: “rename+password+space+old name; new
name,distanceM” to the locator.
To activate the dened areas send the command: “area+password+space+on” to the locator.
With the function active, the authorised numbers will receive a message “area name+entry
coordinates” (in case of entry violation) and “area name+exit coordinates”, in case of exit from the
area.
To deactivate multi-area management, send the following command to the locator:
“area+password+space+o”.
30.6 Motion alarm
Activation
When the unit is stationary in one place for 3-10 minutes with active GPS signal reception, the
user can send an SMS to the tracker with the message “move+password+space+0200”
(considering an area with a radius of 200 metres; a maximum of 4 digits can be entered).
If the tracker detects movement within this radius, it sends an SMS containing the message
“Move+ latitude & longitude” to the authorised numbers at three-minute intervals.
Deactivation
To cancel this function, the user must send the locator an SMS with the words
“nomove+password”
30.7 Allarme sulla velocità
Activation

31. Alarms
31.1 Open door alarm
The tracker sends an SMS with the message “Door alarm+lat/long” to the authorised numbers at
3-minute intervals when the car door is opened if the alarm is active.
The tracker siren (if connected) sounds for 20 seconds, and sounds at 20 second intervals if the
door remains open.
To stop the alarm it is necessary to deactivate the tracker by sending a text message saying
“disarm+password”
31.2 ACC alarm
The tracker sends an SMS with the message “ACC alarm+lat/long” to the authorised numbers at
3-minute intervals if the car engine is switched on (ACC ON) when the alarm is activated.
The siren sounds for 20 seconds, and sounds at 20-second intervals as long as the engine remains
running.
To stop the alarm, you must deactivate the tracker by sending a text message saying
“noacc+password”.
31.3 Integrated accelerometer sensor
The tracker incorporates a three-axis accelerometer sensor; the tracker can detect when the vehicle
moves, tilts or jolts.
This alarm has the same characteristics as the alarm that detects external shocks.
To stop the alarm it is necessary to deactivate the localiser by sending an SMS with the words
“disarm+password”
The sensor has 3 selectable sensitivity levels as shown below:
• First level: the alarm is triggered if it detects a slight vibration; send an SMS to the device with the
message “sensitivity+password+space+1”.
