Hair
Skin
For all skin types, we recommend starting on level one. If your skin
responds well to the treatment you can then increase the setting by
one intensity level each week. If the skin still feels sore 5 hours after the
treatment, we recommend lowering the setting for the next treatment. If
you have tinted skin, we recommend building up the intensity level more
slowly and being extra alert to sensitivity. If the intensity level is too high,
tinted skin can burn faster. If you have a darker complexion, we do not
recommend using our device.

Treatment
Phases
We recommend to treat once every 5-7 days with the
GoSmooth IPL Classic
Phase 1 (weeks 1-2): This is the
starting phase, your skin will start
to get used to IPL.
Phase 2 (weeks 3-4): Your skin
is used to IPL at this stage. You
will notice the skin becomes
more smooth and hair growth is
reduced.
Phase 3 (weeks 5-6): At this
stage your hair follicle is dam-
aged. You will notice hair growth
has stopped in some places. But
you will still have to shave some
spots.
Phase 4 (weeks 7-10): The hair
follicle is dying in this phase. Hair
growth starts to disappear.
Phase 5 (weeks 10-13): The hair
follicle has died. Hair growth will
stop in almost every area you
have treated.
Phase 6 (weeks 13-16): This is the
completion phase. Hair growth
will stop in all the areas you have
treated.
Maintenance phase:
Switch to the maintenance phase to maintain your results. At this
stage, you only need to use the device once every 3 weeks. This
way you stay hair-free on the desired parts of your body.

How does IPL
work?
The GoSmooth IPL Classic delivers pulses of
light to the skin that are absorbed by the hair
root. The darker the hair, the better the light
pulses are absorbed.
The hair follicle retains the light and converts
it into heat. As a result, the hair follicle even-
tually falls out naturally and new hair growth
is prevented.
A hair growth cycle consists of several phases,
one of which is the growth phase. IPL Hair Re-
moval is most eective when the hair follicle is
in the growth phase. This is why we advise ev-
eryone to shave 12-24 hours beforehand. This
will ensure that the hair follicle is in the growth
phase when you start your IPL treatment.
