Read all of the instructions before using thisappliance. When usingthis appliance, alwaysexercise
basic safety precautions,including the following:
1) Save theseinstructions- The safety and operation instructions should be retainedfor future
reference.
2) All warningson the appliance and in theoperating instructions should be followed.
3) Cleaning- Unplug TV from the wall outletbefore cleaning. Do not useliquid cleaners oraerosol
cleaners.
Use only adamp cloth for cleaning.
Exceptions: Some productsare designed for uninterrupted service, eg. Cable TVconverters,
unplugging such accessoriesmay result in loss of authorizationcodes. In such cases, please follow
instructions for unpluggingsuch devices as provided by theaccessories manufacturer.
4)Attachments-Do not use attachments not recommendedby the TV manufacturer as theymay cause
hazards.
5) Waterand moisture-Do not place this TV near water, for example, near a bathtub,wash bowl,
kitchen sink, orlaundry tub, in a wet basement,or near a swimming pool.
6)Accessories - Donot place this TV on anunstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket ortable. The TV may
fall causing seriousinjury to someone, and serious damageto the appliance. Use only witha cart,
stand, tripod, bracket,or table recommended by the manufacturer`s,or sold with the TV. Any
mounting of theappliance should follow the manufacturer`s instructionsand should use a
mounting accessory recommendedby the manufacturer. An appliance and cart combinationshould
be moved withcare. Quick stops, excessive force, anduneven surface may cause the applianceand
Cart combination tooverturn.
7) Ventilation- Slots and openings in thecabinet and the back or bottomare provided for ventilation
and to ensureoverheating. These openings must notbe locked inan built ininstallation such a
bookcase or rack unless proper ventilationis provided orthe manufacturer instructions have been
adhered to.
8)Power sources- This TV should be operatedonly from the type of powersources indicated on the
electrical nameplate. Ifyou are not sure of thetype of the power supply toyour home, consult your
appliance dealer orlocal power company. For TV`s intended tooperate from battery power or other
source, refer tothe operation instructions.
9)Grounding or polarization- This TV is equipped witha polarized alternating current line plug(a
plug having oneblade wider than the other is).This plug will fit into thepower outlet only one way.
This is safetyfeature. If you are unable toinsert the plug fully into theoutlet, try reversing the plug. If
the plug shouldstill fail to fit, contact yourelectrician to replace your outlet. Don`tdefeat the safety
purpose of thepolarized plug.
10)Power cordprotection - Power supply cordsshould be routedso that they are not likelyto be
walked on orpinched by items placed upon oragainst them, paying particular attention tocords or
Plugs, convenience receptacle,and the point where they exitfrom the appliance.

antenna or cablesystem is grounded so as to
provide some protectionagainst voltage surges
and built upstatic charges. Article 810 of the
National Electrical Code,ANSI/NEPA NO.70,
provided information withrespect to proper
grounding of themast and supporting structure,
grounding of thelead in wire to antenna
discharge unit, sizeof grounding conductors,
location of antennadischarge unit, connection
to grounding electrodes,and requirement for
the grounding electrode.(Fig. A)

12)Lighting precaution -For added protection for this TV receiver duringa lighting storm or when it
is left unattendedfor long period of time, unplugit from the wall outlet anddisconnect the
antenna or cablesystem. This will prevent damage tothe TV due to lighting andpower line surges.
13)Object and liquidentry - Never push objects ofany kind into this TV throughopenings as they
May touch dangerousvoltage point or short out partsthat could result in a fireor electric shock.
Avoid spilling liquidof any kind on the TV.
14)Servicing - Donot attempt to service the TVby yourself, as opening or removing covers may
expose you todangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicingto qualified service
personnel.
15)Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this TV fromthe wall outlet and refer servicingto qualified
service personnel underthe following conditions:
a. When thepower supply cord or plug isdamaged or frayed.
b. If liquidhas been spilled, or objects havebeen fallen into the TV.
c. If theTV has been exposed to rainor water.
d. If theTV does not operate normally byfollowing the operation instructions. Adjust onlythose
controls that arecovered by the operation instructions, asimproper adjustment of other control
may result indamage and will often require extensivework by a qualified technician torestore the
TV to itsnormal operation.

plug does not fit into youroutlet, consult anelectrician for replacementof the obsolete outlet.
24)Protect the power cord frombeing walked on or pinched particularlyat plugs, convenience
receptacles, and thepoint where they exit from theapparatus.
25)Only use theattachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
26)Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicingis required when the apparatus has
been damaged inany way, such aspower supply cord or plug isdamaged, liquid has been spilled

Menu Functions
Video Set Up:
Pressing MENU button once willbring the Video Set Up menuon the TV.
The following isshown on your TV screen:
Follow the procedure below toadjust the
picture quality ofyour choice:
1.Press the CH(+) and CH(-)button to go
up and downthe menu.
2.Press the VOL(+) and VOL(-) button to
increase and decreasethe level to your
preference for eachitem.
Adjustment of Picture Quality:
Toadjust the picture quality from thefactory preset readthe following:
Picture: By increasing the level. It will adjustwhite areas of picture and bydecreasing the level ,
it will adjustblack areas of picture.
Brightness: By increasingthe level, it will add morelight to dark parts of thepicture and by
decreasing the level,itwill add more dark to lightparts of the picture.
Color: By increasingthe level. It will adjust thelow and the high level of the picture.
Sharpness: By increasingthe level, it will show cleanerand clearer images and by decreasing
the level, itwill make picture smoother.
Hue: You can adjustthe tint of the picture bygoing into picture set up menu.By decreasing the
level, it willgive red tint to skin colorand by increasing the color itwill give greentint to
skin color.
Color Temp : Bypressing the VOL(+/-) buttons to select the threesetting A)Neutral, B)Warm,
C)Cool.

Remind time:
Ch. Switch: Thisfeature lets you store your favoritechannel. Once you store the
channel number inthis function, when the set timeis up, it will switch over
to the setchannel. This feature is used withthe Exchange feature. Press
VOL(+) or VOL(-) button to select thechannel.

OFF. When theBackground ON functionis chosen, amoving"NO SIGNAL" sign will
be displayed ifthere is no input signal tothe set.
Black Stretch: Press VOL (+/-) buttons toturn the Black Stretch feature onor off. When the
Black Stretch functionis on the screen automatically increasesthe contrast range.
VNR: Press VOL (+/-) buttons to turn the VNR functionon or off. VNR isa term for Video
Noise Reduction, a built-in device on theset that reduces video noise interference
so the vieweris assured a clear picture.
OFF: When OFF is displayedon TV means C.Caption is turnedoff.
CC1: When CC1displayson TV means C.Caption is turnedon.
CC2 to CC4:For other modes of video related broadcast information.
T1: For program guide andother information displayed by broadcasters.
(This blocks alarge portion of the picture onyour screen).
T2 to T4:For other modes of information displayed by broadcasters.
(This blocks alarge portion of the picture onyour screen).
Note: Select CC1for full translation of the primarylanguage such as English in your
area. Select CC2for secondary language translation such asSpanish or any other
language that maybe broadcast in your area.

Fade: The FADE control allows for the picture tube to warm up and gently turn on,
which can help prolong the life of the picture tube.
Demo mode: Thiswill display the main functions ofthe TV set.
AVL:Automatic VolumeLevel control reduces the effectof large volume changes. For instance,
when advertisements comeon.
C.Caption: Press VOL (+/-) buttons to select the Closed Captionoptions. Closed
Captioning helps thehearing impaired with the broadcast program,as well as helping
children learn howto read. A built in decoderdisplays the audio portion of aprogram
as text onthe screen when this option isselected.

Skip :Press VOL(+) button or VOL(-) button to addor delete the channel from the
stored memory.
Current Ch. :Press VOL(+) button to goup and VOL (-) button to go downto set the
channel position. Thedisplay will showthe current playing channel.
Fine: If the picture and/orsound are poor, try usingthe FINE TUNE feature.
Do not usethis feature unless reception is poor. Press VOL (+/-) to start theFine
Tune function.
Auto Program: Press VOL(+) button or VOL (-) button to auto program in channels.
This search automaticallyadds only the active channels inyour area to the TV's
memory. It deletes anychannels on which there is nobroadcast or a poor signal.
Note: The AutoSearch function will scan the channelson the selected antenna
input. If theTV is connected to cable, pleaseselect Cable under Antenna.
Calendar:
Your TV has been designed with acalendar. By pressing MENUbutton ,and then
pressing VOL-/+ button it willbring you to Calendar. Youwill see the following
display on TVscreen.

is in "OFF"mode then V-CHIP function will not be activeto accept the V-CHIP
signal.

mode then V-CHIP function is activated to accept the V-CHIP signal.
Password
The "Default Password" preset bythe manufacturer is"0000" . Ifyou want tochange
the preset passwordto your own password, just chooseany four digits that can be
easily remembered andset. Once you set password fora particular channel, that
channel will beblocked. This channel can only beaccessed with the password.
LOCK Menu
AV LOCK:When it is setON,you can not use the AV.
PROGRAM LOCK:When it is set ON,the current channel is locked,youcan not see
the program ofthis channel.

The "V-Chip Technology" allow you to use U.S. And Canada Movies andTV
PROGRAMS Guide ratingsto block certain types of TVprograms and movies.
Tounderstand clearly about TV programs ratingcodes, read the following list:
U.S. TV Program Ratings
NR: Not Rated-this means thatprograms are not rated or ratingdoes not apply.
TV-Y:For all children-thistype of ratedprograms are designedfor a very young audience,
including children fromages 2-6.
TV-Y7:Directed for older children - thistype of rated programs may includecomedic violence
of mild physical,or may frighten children under theage of 7.
TV-G:General Audience-this typeof rated programs contains little orno violence, nostrong
language, and littleor no sexual dialogue and situations.
TV-PG:ParentalGuidance Suggested-this type of rated programsmay contain limited violence,
some suggestive sexualdialogue and situations, and rare language.
TV-14:Parents strongly cautioned-thistype of rated programs may containsexual content,
