1. Inventory

There are als a few items that y u will need f r assembly which are n t included with the kit:
•#1 Philips Screwdriver
•Black marker
•Ruler
•S ldering Ir n, s lder
•Wire cutter/stripper
•L ng-n sed pliers
•RS-HFIQ transceiver b ard

2. Preparation
Use the black marker t blacken the edges f the fr nt and rear PCBs. Blackening the inside f the
pening in the panels als makes the panels l k better.
Use the black marker t blacken the sides f the lite-pipes. This helps prevent the light fr m adjacent
LEDs fr m entering the lite-pipe. B th f these steps are pti nal but impr ve the appearance f the
encl sure.
3. Power Switch Cable
The p wer cable may be supplied with a 2 pin header attached t the c nnect r, rem ve it.
Cut the p wer switch cable t a length f 4”, rem ve ¼” f insulati n and twist the wire strands and tin
the exp sed ends.

4. Attach Power Switch
Bend the exp sed ends f the p wer switch cable in t h ks using the pliers. Put ne with h k n
each f the tw c ntacts n the switch. Since the switch is SPST the wire c l r is unimp rtant.
Be careful soldering, the switch is easily melted, try only touching the iron to the wire hooks, and do not
make contact with the switch terminal. As soon as the solder flows, remove the iron.
Insert the switch int the rear panel PCB, wire first.

Attach the rear panel PCB t ne and f the encl sure using the 2 b tt m screws. Do not put the top
screws in at this time.
5. Insert Lite-Pipes into RS- FIQ PCB
Push each f the 4 lite-pipes int the designated l cati n n the fr nt edge f the PCB.
The PCB in the photo is a mechanical sample, production R -HFIQ’s are blue in color and have
components.
Then slide the PCB int the sec nd sl t in the case

6. Connect Power Switch Cable
The RS-HFIQ PCB has a jumper installed n the p wer switch header when the b ard was p wered
during fact ry tests. Rem ve the jumper.
If the header n the PCB is similar t the ne pictured ab ve it may be necessary t trim the alignment
tabs ff the c nnect r.
C nnect the p wer switch cable t the 2-pin header n the RS-HFIQ PCB
Then slide n the encl sure c ver.

7. Attach Front Panel
Attach the fr nt panel with 4 screws and add the 2 remaining screws t the rear panel.
8. Attach Feet
Separate the backing fr m the feet and stick 4 feet n the b tt m f the encl sure.
