2.0 MAXAM1 Operating Instructions
Step 1: MAXAM1 Portable Bleachers are designed for quick & easy one-person
transport and operation. To deploy the seating from the stored position,
extend each of the traction arms.
The following instructions will outline the basic safe operating instructions for transport and use of MAXAM1 Portable
Bleacher Seating.
Step 2: Depress the spring button on the far side of the stabilizer (top of stabilizer
when MAXAM1 is in the use position) and allow it to drop down to the ground.
Step 3: Grip the handles provided and tip the unit down onto the traction arms.
Step 4: Give it a gentle push down until seating is in position.
Handles on the unit are designed for use when deploying the seating from
the stored position, as shown in photo. Avoid gripping the formed
aluminum structure.

Step 5: Once the MAXAM1 unit is tipped down and positioned for use, pull the
stabilizers completely out until the spring buttons lock them. Make sure the
adjacent casters are outward (as shown at left).
Step 6: Confirm that the casters are NOT turned upwards (as shown at left).
Step 7: To move the MAXAM1 unit from the use position, unlock each extended
stabilizer by pushing the spring button on the top and sliding each stabilizer
forward until the button locks into position and then follow the above steps in
reverse order.
Stabilizers prevent the unit from tipping over backward. It is important to pull
these out to the locked position when the unit is tipped down for use, and to
lock them in the retracted position when rolling the unit around so that they
do not drag on your floor.

2.0 MAXAM1 Operating Instructions (Cont.)
MAXAM 1 units may be abutted end-to-end only on flat and level surfaces (Figure 1), such that tripping hazards will
not be introduced at the edges of decks which are not in the same plane. The maximum distance between abutting
units shall not exceed 1”.
A maximum of 4 MAXAM1 Portable Seating units may be abutted adjacent to each other, for a total run of 4 units or
20 seats.
The distance between the ends of units not abutted end-to-end shall not be less than 4’-0” (Figure 2). This preserves
code-required aisle width where egress must be between units, and discourages potentially injurious jumping the gap
between adjacent units.
Figure 3 Figure 4
Store the units in a controlled location to discourage unauthorized access to them.
It is recommended to store the unit along a wall with the Courtside seats exposed as shown in Figure 3, and not
with the understructure exposed as shown in Figure 4. The units should be stored in a controlled location so as to
discourage unauthorized access to them.

4.0 MAXAM1 Recommended Safety Instructions
MAXAM1 Portable Bleachers quickly bring the safety, comfort and durability of large bleacher systems to nearly any
spot on your facility’s campus. Important safety rules are included below.
Prior to operating your new MAXAM1 Portable Bleacher Seating, please read and understand the
operating and maintenance instructions in this Owner's Manual.
Do not allow persons to stand, sit, or ride on the MAXAM1 Portable Bleacher during transport.
Always deploy the rear outrigger supports on the MAXAM1 Portable Bleacher before use. These
supports are designed to prevent any rear tipping of the unit.
Handles on the unit are designed for use when deploying the seating from the stored position. Avoid
gripping the formed aluminum structure.
Store the units in a controlled location to discourage unauthorized access to them.
It is suggested a maximum of 4 MAXAM1 Portable Seating units be abutted adjacent to each other, for
a total run of 20 seats. Place a 4’-0” minimum gap before establishing the next run of Portable Seating
units. This will allow adequate egress space.

5.0 MAXAM1 Recommended Care and Cleaning Instructions
This section of the manual provides care and cleaning instructions to properly maintain the operation and aesthetic
appearance of the MAXAM1 Portable Bleacher. The MAXAM1 Portable Bleacher is mainly comprised of urethane
coated plywood (decking), HDPE plastic (seats), and aluminum (support structure). Hardware is zinc plated and
stainless steel. Use cleaners compatible with these materials.
Prior to transporting MAXAM1 Portable Bleachers, all loose debris should be removed from the facility floor to ensure
safe maneuvering.
Keep bleacher walking surfaces swept clean, and use a mop with a mild detergent to clean up any water or drink
spills. Do not allow water or drink spills to remain on the product for an extended period of time as this will result in
surface deterioration.
Keep seats clean using a mild detergent.
Do not use harsh chemicals or products containing bleach on either the seats, decking, or support structure. Do not
use chemicals or detergent that are not compatile with wood, plastic, or aluminum.
Failure to keep the MAXAM1 Portable Bleacher clean may shorten the product life.
This is a weather resistant bleacher only – it is not warranted to be weather proof. Hussey Seating does not
recommend keeping or storing bleachers outdoors where they are exposed to rain or other extreme weather. Hussey
Seating’s warranty does not cover defects caused by exposure to rain or other extreme weather conditions.
