The HQ Innity uses high-tech electronics and an innovave touch-screen user interface to oer greater
funconality and ease of operaon to home quilters than ever before conceived in the quilng industry.
The HQ Innity quilng machine is a high quality machine that both incorporates robust design features
and is easy to service.
The HQ Innity is constructed following a specic sequence of operaons, similar to the construcon of
a house. Walls cannot be erected unl the foundaon is in place. Similarly, this service manual has been
wrien with an adjustment logic that is driven by the construcon processes used to create the machine. If
the service technician carefully follows the adjustment steps in the order presented, a ne running quilng
machine is possible each and every me.
About this manual
The purpose of this service manual is to help the technician complete a repair on a machine accurately
and quickly. The manual is complete with photographs and explanaons that we hope will aid you in your
repair eorts. In addion to the teaching aids found herein, you will also nd all of the tools listed that
are necessary for adjustments. If you need help in locang these tools for purchase, please contact Handi

Service Manual Guidelines
Only make the adjustments shown in the manual if a seng deviates from the tolerance specied in the
manual.
Perform the adjustments only in the logical sequence shown and described in the manual. Do not jump
ahead or start in the middle of the adjustment sequence as this may cause addional or more serious
problems than the original issue.
Consider safety when working on any machine. Safety warnings are included throughout this manual
where appropriate, but these warnings do not address all possible safety concerns that might confront
the service technician.
When working on or near any live electrical assemblies, remove the power cable from the machine.
We urge you to observe the cauons in the manual.
Note that the hand wheel must always be turned in the direcon of normal rotaon unless otherwise
instructed. This is especially true when making the loop-li ming and needle-height adjustment
(Excepons are when removing thread locks or tesng belt tension. The hand wheel may be rocked
forward and reverse in these cases.)
Electrostac Discharge (ESD)
Observe precauons for handling electrostac sensive devices whenever you are handling any of the
circuit boards in the HQ Innity. These precauons include:
• Whenever possible, work performed on the quilng machine that includes handling any of the circuit
boards should be done at an ESD-safe work bench. An ESD-safe workbench should include:
– An ESD-safe mat connected to earth ground
– An ESD wrist strap connected properly to earth ground for the worker
– All insulave materials should be at least one foot away from the work area (plascs, paper, etc.).
– Circuit boards should be kept mounted to the machine or in their ESD-safe packaging, not handled
directly, unl you are properly grounded with an ESD wrist strap. They may also be placed directly
on a properly-grounded ESD-safe mat.
• If an ESD wrist strap is not available, you should constantly discharge your body to earth ground by
touching a bare metal piece of the quilng machine, such as a thread guide at the top of the machine,
the hopping foot or take-up lever. Discharge repeatedly to the machine (every 20to 30 seconds) while
handling the circuit board.
An ESD Field Service kit can be purchased from Handi Quilter (part # QM49261). Similar kits can be
purchased from local electronics stores.

HQ Lubricang and Maintenance Schedule
In addion to ongoing cleaning and oiling maintenance of the machine by the machine owner, the HQ
Innity should be serviced by an authorized Handi Quilter Representave every 24 months or 15 million
stches, whichever occurs rst. When the HQ Innity reaches 15 million stches (and every 15 million
stches thereaer, i.e. 30 million, 45 million, etc.), a pop-up message appears to remind the owner to have
the machine serviced.
Where to Lubricate
Most bearings are sealed bearings on the Innity machine. However, the following places need to be
lubricated by the servicing technician:
Needle bar and presser bar (sintered bronze bearings)
Use #1 Red Kluber Constant OY68 oil for top
two sintered bronze bearings. Oil the two places
indicated.
Use #1 Red Kluber Constant OY68 oil for boom
two sintered bearings. Oil the three places
indicated.

Reciprocang counterweight sleeve
Use #1 Red Kluber Constant OY68 oil around the
inside edge if the sleeve is sintered bronze.
Use #5 Orange Kluber GLY 151 Polylub dampening
grease around the inside edge if the sleeve is black
plasc POM.
Front two hook sha sintered iron bearings
Use #1 Red Kluber Constant
OY68 oil for hook sha front two
sintered iron bearings. Lubricate
the two places indicated.
