Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a KickAss TV, your new set has been developed especially to operate of 12 Volt DC
making it a very portable entertainment unit. This unit has also be designed top operate from 240 Volt AC mains
power using the adapter provided if required.
Your KickAss TV set features:

Warning and Precautions
To prevent any injuries, the following safety precautions should be observed in the installation, use,
servicing and maintenance of this equipment.
Before operating this equipment, please read this manual completely, and keep it for future
reference.
1) Read these instructions.

has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has
been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to
rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

17) Do not listen to headphones at high volumes; the excessive sound pressure from
earphones can cause hearing loss.
18) Keep the player clean and never store it next to a heat source or in dirty, humid or wet places.
Keep it out of direct sunlight.
19) Press the Player’s button gently. Pressing them or the screen too hard can damage the player.
20) Do not subject the product to harsh impacts. Do not drop the appliance. This may result in
damage to the product.
Do not touch, push or rub the surface of the LCD screen with any sharp or hard objects.
When the surface of the LCD screen becomes dusty, wipe it gently with an absorbent cotton cloth
or other soft material like chamois. Do not use acetone, toluene or alcohol to clean the surface
of the screen. These chemicals will cause damage to the surface.
21) Please observe the local regulations regarding the disposal of packaging materials, exhausted
batteries and old equipment.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, this apparatus shall not be exposed to
dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the
apparatus.
Apparatus with Class I Construction shall be connected to a Mains socket outlet with a
protective earthing connection.

1. VOL(+) - This button increases the TV’s volume. If the On Screen Display (OSD) menu is active,
pressing this button will move the selection to the right.
2. VOL(-) - This button decreases the TV’s volume. If the OSD menu is active, pressing this button will
move the selection to the left.
3. CH(+) - This button changes the TV channel upward. If the OSD menu is active, this button functions
as up control for the menu.
4. CH(-) - This button changes the TV channel down. If the OSD menu is active, this button functions as
down control for the menu.
5. MENU - This button activates the OSD menu. If a sub-menu is active, pressing this button will return
selection to the previous menu level.
6. INPUT - This button switches between all the different sources of the TV. When the OSD is active,
this button acts as the enter button and confirms the menu selection.

POWER - Turn on the TV by pressing the button once. Press the button again to turn off the TV.

Functions of remote control buttons
The remote control uses Infra- Red (IR) technology. For best performance, point it directly at the front of the
TV. The remote control may not work correctly if it is operated out of range or from an acute angle.

First Time Operation

When you first turn your TV on you will see the First Time installation screen, you can also start
the first time installation procedure by pressing the menu button and using the buttons to
move to the setup menu and then use the buttons to select “First Time Installation” and press OK.
Press button to select the language to be used
for menus and messages.
Press button to highlight country menu.
Press button to select the country you are in.
Press the OK button.
Select Connection Type
Press button to highlight TV Connection menu.
Press button to select the type of connection you are using.
Antenna for use with a TV antenna (Freeview, Saorview etc.)
Satellite for use with a satellite dish (Freesat or other free-to-air satellite TV)
Cable for a cable television service.
Set Tune Type to DRV
Press the OK button.
You KickAss TV should be mounted according to the installation guidelines on the previous pages. To connect
your TV to 12V DC use the cigarette plug power cable provided. You can plug this cable into the mating socket on
your vehicle, battery box, fridge or other device with a cigarette socket that outputs 12V DC. You can also connect
your set to 240V AC using the wall adapter provided. Warning do not mix adapters or power sources!
Once you have connected the power to the unit, you can connect either a TV Antenna to real RF port, or other
entertainment device to the HDMI, VGA or USB inputs. Once power and inputs are connected, you can now press
the power button on the remote and set up the various items as directed further in this manual.

Select Input Source
Press the SOURCE button to display the input source list,
Press or OK button to select the input source you want,
Press OK button to enter the input source or press the
EXIT button to quit.
The available inputs are:
DTV: Digital TV with an aerial (DVB-T eg. Freeview, Saorview etc.)
ATV: Analogue TV with an aerial.
AV: For connection of a composite video and audio signal to
the Mini AV socket.
YPbPr: For connection of a component video signal to the
Mini Y/Pb/Pr socket.
PC: For connection of a computer to the VGA socket.
HDMI: For the HDMI 1 socket.
Media: For playback of media connection to the USB socket
on the side of the TV.

Channel Menu
Press MENU button to display the main menu.
Press button to select CHANNEL in the main menu.
In Antenna Source.
1. Press button to highlight the option that you want to adjust in the CHANNEL menu.
2. Press OK button to select the highlighted option.
3. After finishing your adjustment, press Menu button to save and return to the previous menu.
Auto Tuning
Press button to select Auto tuning, then press OK button to enter.
Select the correct country and press OK.
TIP: You can press the AQT (Auto Quick Tune) button on the remote control
to jump straight to the Auto Tuning menu if you need to retune.
Main Menu Operation

To skip ATV tuning and move straight on to DTV tuning press the MENU button followed by the left arrow.

Adjust the frequency of the channel finely.

Start searching channel.

DVB-T Manual Tuning
Press button to select DVB-T Manual Tuning, then press OK button to enter sub-menu.
Press button to select channel, then press OK button to search program.
Program Edit (reordering the channel list)
Press button to select Program Edit, then press OK button to enter sub-menu.
The three colored keys are shortcut keys for programming the channel.
First press to highlight the channel you want to select, then:
Press the Red button to delete the program in the list.
Press the Yellow button to move the channel in favorite list.
Press the Blue button to skip the selected channel.
Press Fav button to add or remove the channel from your favorite list.
(Your TV set will skip between these channels automatically when using
CH+/- to view the channels.)

Picture Menu
Press MENU button to display the main menu.
Press button to select PICTURE in the main menu.
1. Press button to select the option that you want to adjust in the PICTURE menu.
2. Press OK button to adjust.
3. After finishing your adjustment, press MENU button to save and return back to the previous menu.
Picture Mode
Press button to select Picture Mode, then press OK button to enter sub-menu.
Press to cycle through the modes: Standard, Dynamic, Mild and User.
Note: You can change the value of contrast, brightness, saturation, tint and sharpness manually set
to Standard Mode
Contrast / Brightness / Saturation / Sharpness / Tint
Press button to select option, then press button to adjust.
Contrast - Adjust the highlight intensity of the picture, but the shadow of the picture is invariable.
Brightness - Adjust the optical fiber output of the entire picture, it will effect the dark region of the picture.
Saturation - Adjust the saturation of the color based on your preference.
Sharpness - Adjust the peaking in the detail of the picture.
Tint (NTSC only) - Use in compensating color change with the transmission in the NTSC code.
Tip: In viewing mode you can press PMODE button to cycle through the picture modes quickly.

Color Temp
Change the overall color cast of the picture.
Press button to select Color Temperature, then to cycle through the options:
Normal No Adjustment
Cold Increase the blue tone for the white.
Warm Increase the red color for the white.
Aspect Ratio
Manually change the aspect ratio of the picture
Press button to select Aspect Ration, then to cycle through the options:
16:9 (default), Zoome1, Zoom2, Auto, 4:3
Noise Reduction
To filter out and reduce image noise and improve picture quality.
Press button to select Noise Reduction, then to cycle through the options:
Off Select to turn off video noise detection.
Low Detect and reduce low video noise.
Middle Detect and reduce moderate video noise (default)
High Detect and reduce enhanced video noise.
HDMI Mode Use HDMI to connect to the computer. Select this option and it will display in full screen.

Sound Menu
Press MENU button to display the main menu.
Press button to select SOUND in the main menu.
1. Press button to select the option that you want to adjust in the SOUND menu.
2. Press OK button to adjust.
3. After finishing your adjustment, press Enter button to save and return to the previous menu.
Sound Mode
Press button to select Sound Mode, then to cycle through the options:
Standard Produces a balanced sound in all environments.
Music Preserves the original sound. Good for musical programs.
Movie Enhances treble and bass for a rich sound experience.
User Select to customize sound settings.
In User mode you can manually adjust the sound frequencies in the ranges:
120Hz, 500Hz, 1.5KHz, 5KHz, 10KHz
Tip: In viewing mode you can press SMODE button to cycle through the sound modes quickly.
Balance
Press button to select option, press button to adjust.
Auto Volume Level
This reduces the difference between channel and program volumes automatically
Press button to select Auto Volume Level, then press button to select On or Off.
Surround Sound
Press button to select Surround Sound, then press button to select Surround or Off.
SPDIF Mode
Press button to select SPDIF Mode, then press button to select Off / PCM / Auto.
AD Switch (Audio Description)
Press button to select AD Switch, then press button to select On or Off.
AD Volume (Audio Description Volume)
When AD Switch is On Press button to select AD Volume, then press button to adjust
volume of audio description.

Bluetooth
The Bluetooth function allows you to play audio from the TV through a Bluetooth audio device such
as a soundbar, speaker or headphones.
Press MENU button to display the main menu.
Press button to select SOUND in the main menu.
Select Bluetooth from the Sound menu to bring up the Bluetooth sub-menu:
Turning on Bluetooth
Press button to select Bluetooth and then press to switch between On and Off.
Pairing a new device
Press button to select Bluetooth Pair and press the OK button.
The TV will start to search nearby Bluetooth audio devices, make sure your speaker or headphones
are turned on and discoverable.
While the TV is searching you will see a “Searching...” message in the middle of the screen.
When searching is complete you will see a list of the devices found, press the buttons to select
the device you want to use and press OK button to connect to the device.
