Introduction
FlyCAM-CF is a PDA’s camera. It’s compliant with CompactFlashType I and
compatible with all PocketPC devices. With FlyCAM-CF, you can take photos and
record video, it lets your PDA become as not only a Digital Still Camera (DSC) but
also a Digital Camcorder .

Supported PDA
PDA with CompactFlash™ slot (or expansion pack , e.g. FlyJacket).
CPU : Intel StrongARM, Xscale or MIPS or SH3.
OS : Microsoft Pocket PC or Pocket PC 2002.
Storage Memory: 3.0 MB in your Pocket PC is required for installation.
Desktop PC
Windows 98, 98 SE, ME, NT, 2000, and XP.
ActiveSync 3.5 or above , to install desired driver software .

Installing Driver Software
1. Establish a connection between the PDA and your desktop PC ( using USB
cradle or IrDA and ActiveSync ).
2. Insert the CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. Follow the pop-up
instructions to complete installing the driver and desired software.
3. The Installation for PowerCamera software requires the CD Key,that is labeled
on the envelope of CD_ROM.
The software driver could be free updated from http://www.lifeview.com.tw .

FlyCAM-CF Hardware
Proper Operations
Please insert FlyCAM-CF in the correct direction carefully into the PDA’s CF slot to
avoid damaging PDA and FlyCAM-CF.
After FlyCAM-CF was installed , please make sure the LED of FyCAM-CF is light
and then start to run the application software.
Notice : Please remember to remove it or power off PDA if FlyCAM-CF is not in use to avoid
consuming the PDA power .
If your PDA enter power saving mode , the video will be hung when you power on
PDA after. It is because the video stream is discontinued, please click any icon on
software to recover the stream.
If the video display becomes unstable or blocky , please check the PDA power is
enough. After charging power and do software reset , the video display will be OK.

Proper Operations
Notice : The upper right corner of any PocketPC software is to hide the
program, actually the Application software is not closed.
Please
do not
run IA Capture and IA VideoMail programs at the same time . It
will cause the system unstable or hung up.
Important Settings
If the video display was reverse , please click
to change self-view mode alternatively .
If the PDA is in landscape orientation ,please
enter options to select “

“, and circle“Rotate Left
“in
order to store the files in the correct orientation .
Notice : The FlyCAM-CF is designed in
landscape orientation , same as common usage
of Digital Camera.
Please click to get 320x240 (240x320)
full screen display,you could click the PDA
screen to go back the previous video preview.

Please go to “options” to select ”Enable hardware capture button ” at your
preference.
Notice : During the Full-screen display mode, you cannot record the video and
the defined hardware capture button allows you to snapshot still image only .
The video settings enables you to adjust video quality . Setting Brightness,
Contrast ,Saturation, Hue in YUV mode ; and Setting Brightness, Red, Green, Blue
in RGB mode .
Click Options to cancel flicker by selecting 50Hz or 60Hz if you have flickering
problem of video display.

How to Take Photos by using IA Capture
XPlease click to set IMAGE mode. Select captured format BMP, GIF or
JPG. The image size could be 480x640 (640x480) or 240x320 (320x240) .
YClick Capture button to take photos.
ZUse IA Album to browse captured images .
ÚIA Capture provides YUV and RGB format at your preference.

How to Record Video by using IA Capture
XPlease Click to set
VIDEO mode , 120x160 (160x120).
YClick Capture button to start
recording , and click again to stop .
ZClick to browse video clips.
[Click the thumbnail video to play
back the video .
\Click to go back .
]Convert the video into GIF file format.
The captured file by IA Capture is iav
format. You could click to convert into
GIF format.
Then the GIF file could be playback by IA Album
on PDA, or IE browser or ACDSee on PC.

How to Create AVI File by using IA VideoMail
XClick to start recording.
YClick to stop recording.
ZClick to playback the recorded
video clip.
[Click to save the video.
\Click to stop playback and go back to
the previous preview..
]Click to send the video e-mail.
If you won’t save the file, please select ” No”
whenever the dialog pops out.
The recorded AVI file (with audio) could be playable on
PC by using MediaPlayer.
MediaPlayer version 7.x or above，or QuickTime or software which can playback
Motion-JPEG video .

Verifying FlyCAM-CF
QuickTest is a simple program to verify your FlyCAM-CF whether working
properly or not . Also it contains all driver and ID Code information.
XClick to run the QuickTest program.
YOptions > Preview size 120x160 or 240x320 to check the video display .
ZOptions > Flicker setting 50Hz or 60Hz to avoid flickering problem.
[About contains the current driver revision and ID Code.
