Installation
Location
When selecting a position for your freezer, you should make sure the floor is flat and firm, and
the room is well ventilated with an average room temperature of between 12°C and 32°C.
Avoid locating your freezer near a heat source, e.g. cooker, boiler or radiator. Also avoid direct
sunlight in sun lounges or conservatories. If you are placing your freezer in an out-building such
as a garage or annex ensure that the freezer is placed above the damp course, otherwise
condensation will occur on the freezer cabinet.
Never place the freezer in a wall recess or into fitted cabinets or furniture. When your freezer is
working, the grille at the back may become hot and the sides warm. To aid the air flow around
the freezer keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built in structure, clear
of obstruction. It must also be installed so that there is 2cm (3/4”) of free space at the sides and
5cm (2”) of free space at the back to allow air to flow around the freezer.
The freezer door can either open to the right or the left, depending on its location.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the freezer.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
WARNING: Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the
built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the
defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage
compartments of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by
the manufacturer.
Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this
appliance.

Troubleshooting
1)
The freezer is not working
Check it is plugged in and switched on. Check that the fuse in the plug has not
blown. Plug in another appliance, such as a lamp, to see if the socket is
working.
2)
Condensation appears on the outside of the freezer
This may be due to a change in the room temperature. Wipe off any residue
of moisture.
3)
Power cut
If you have a freezer thermometer, place it in the freezer where you can get
easy access to it to read when the power returns. If the internal temperature
is -18C or less when the power returns, your food is safe. The food in your
freezer will remain frozen for approximately 16 hours with the door closed.
Servicing and Maintenance
Repairs and maintenance of the appliance should only be performed by an authorized,
qualified technician.
WARNING! It is hazardous for anyone other than authorised personnel to carry out
servicing or repairs which involve the removal of covers. Do not damage the refrigerant
circuit.
To avoid the risk of electric shock do not attempt repairs yourself.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons including children with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
IMPORTANT –If the mains lead of this appliance becomes damaged then it must be replaced
by a suitably qualified person using the same rated cable in order to avoid a hazard.
THERE ARE NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE AND THE CASING SHOULD NOT
BE OPENED BY AN UNQUALIFIED PERSON
THIS APPLIANCE IS INTENDED FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY
Electrical Connection
Ensure your supply is rated at 220~240v and 50/60Hz before operating the appliance. This
freezer is fitted with a rewirable plug incorporating a 13amp fuse. In addition this appliance must
be earthed or connected to an earthed supply. In the event of the fuse needing replacement then
a 13amp fuse approved by ASTA to BS1362 MUST be used.
IMPORTANT: If the plug fitted is not suitable for your socket, then the 13amp plug supplied
should be removed. Before wiring the appropriate plug, please note that the wires in this mains
lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
BLUE: Neutral
BROWN: Live
GREEN & YELLOW: Earth
As the colours in the mains lead may not correspond to the coloured markings in your plug,
proceed as follows:
Connect the BROWN wire to the terminal marked ‘L’ or coloured RED, connect the BLUE wire to
the terminal marked ‘N’ or coloured BLACK, and connect the GREEN & YELLOW wire to the
terminal marked ‘E’ or coloured GREEN or GREEN AND YELLOW. If in doubt consult a suitably
qualified electrician.

Levelling the Freezer
Once the freezer is sited in its final location, make sure it is level. To do this use the two levelling
feet at the front of the freezer. (If the freezer is not level, the doors and magnetic seal alignments
will be affected.)
Cleaning before use
Wipe the inside of the freezer with warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe completely dry before
replacing the shelves and baskets.
Before using your Freezer
Check that you have your power outlet is compatible with the plug supplied with the freezer. If
not, see the section called ELECTRICAL CONNECTION at the back of this booklet.
DO NOT SWITCH ON UNTIL TWO HOURS AFTER MOVING THE FREEZER to allow the coolant
fluid time to settle.
Before placing any food in your freezer, turn the freezer on and wait for 24 hours, to make sure it
is working properly and to allow the freezer to fall to the correct temperature.
Using Your Freezer
Switching on your freezer:
1) Before connecting the freezer to the mains supply make sure that the Thermostat
Control located inside the freezer is set just below 4, which is the correct setting for use
in a room of average temperature.
2) Wait 24 hours before placing food in the cabinet to allow for the freezer to fall to the
correct temperature.
Adjusting the temperature
The internal temperature of your freezer is controlled by the Temperature Control. There are 7
settings. Position 7 makes the freezer coldest. Position 1 makes it the warmest. To adjust the
temperature, turn the Temperature Control to the preferred setting. Position 0 will turn the freezer
off.
Noises inside the Freezer
If you have not owned a freezer before, you may notice that it makes some rather unusual noises.
Most of these are perfectly normal, but you should be aware of them!
GURGLING, WHOOSHING
These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigerant liquid in the cooling system. It has
become more pronounced since the introduction of CFC free gases. This is not a fault and will not
affect the performance of your freezer.
HUMMING, PURRING OR PULSATING
This is the compressor motor working, as it pumps the refrigerant around the system.
Defrosting
After a period of time frost will build up in the freezer. As a temporary measure, this frost should
be scraped away using a plastic scraper. Complete defrosting will however become necessary
approximately once per year, or if the frost layer exceeds 5cm (2”) to maintain the efficiency of the
freezer.
This should be carried out if the frost build up cannot be scraped away, or if it begins to interfere
with the food storage. Choose a time when the stock of frozen food is low and proceed as follows:
1) Take out the frozen food, turn the freezer off at the mains supply and leave the door
open. Ideally the frozen food should be put into another freezer or refrigerator. If this is
not possible wrap the food, firstly in several sheets of newspaper or large towels and
then a thick rug or blanket and keep it in a cool place.
2) Remove the drainage whole plug to allow any water that is produced in the defrosting
process to escape. Place a container below the hole to collect the water.
3) Scrape away as much frost build up as possible using a plastic scraper. Thawing of the
remainder can be speeded up by placing bowls of hot water inside the freezer cabinet
and closing the door. As the solid frost loosens, prize it away with the plastic scraper and
remove.
4) When defrosting is completed, clean your freezer as described below.

Cleaning
Cleaning inside the Freezer
You should clean the freezer internally with warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe the freezer dry
before replacing the food. Plug in and switch on the mains supply.
Cleaning the outside of the Freezer
Use standard furniture polish to clean the freezer exterior. Make sure that the doors are closed, to
prevent polish getting on the magnetic door seal or inside. The grille of the condenser at the back
of the freezer and the adjacent components can be vacuumed using a soft brush attachment.
Cleaning tips
• Defrost and clean when food stocks are low.
Replacing the Light Bulb
1. Unplug the freezer.
2. Remove the lampshade.
3. Remove the bulb and replace.
4. Replace the lampshade.
5. Plug the freezer back in.
