▪The transmitter is controlled using a magnet provided in the case.
▪Slide the magnet next to the transmitter's mark to switch it on or off.
▪When starting up, the transmitters flashes orange for about 30
seconds until it finds a GPS signal. If the GPS reception is hard (build-
ings in the vicinity, very cloudy sky...) it may take more time.
▪Once the transmitter finds a GPS signal, it slowly flashes green.
▪Some of the information transmitted to the receiver (such as battery
state, altitude) depend on the distance with the transmitter. If the
animal is too far away, the receiver will not receive its position any
more. Altitude and battery state are not displayed any more.
▪The information update on the receiver depends on the distance to
the transmitter and its operating time.
▪Do not release the animal before checking the pairing of the trans-
mitter with the receiver.

MEDIUM RANGE TRANSMISSION
▪Range up to 5-6 km (depending on environment conditions).
▪Transmission of all information: position, altitude, and battery state.
▪During the first 4 hours, the transmitter transmits in medium range
every 8 seconds.
▪After 4 hours of operation, the transmitter transmits in medium range
about every minute to spare the battery.
LONG RANGE TRANSMISSION
▪Range up to 50 km.
▪Transmission of the position only.
▪The transmitter transmits in long range about every minute.

SAVING A POI
With your MPSFalcon you can save up to 10 POIs (points of interest), such
as, for example, the location of your car when you leave it.
Once you arrive at a selected place:
▪Use and keys to select the number to assign to the selected
POI (between P0 and P9).
▪Keep the key pressed during several seconds to save your loc-
ation.
▪The position is displayed and the POI is saved.
▪From now on, when you select this POI, your receiver will indicate its
distance and direction.
If a position was previously saved in the selected POI, it is erased and
replaced by the new position.

ADDING A TRANSMITTER
ADDING A TRANSMITTER
Your MPSFalcon receiver is compatible with the MPS Dog transmitters.
To connect a new transmitter to your receiver:
▪Use and keys to select the number to assign to the selected
transmitter (between 1 and 16).
▪Keep the magnet on the transmitter until the LED quickly flashes
green.
▪Press the key and keep it pressed until all direction arrows of the
transmitter flash.
▪During the connection, the receiver screen flashes and displays all the
direction arrows simultaneously.
▪The transmitter is linked to the receiver when the screen stops flash-
ing and the transmitter LED flashes slowly.
▪Do not release the animal before checking the pairing of the trans-
mitter with the receiver.
ADDING THE SKY PROBE RELAY
The Sky Probe relay is added as any transmitter, on one of the 1-16 num-
bers.
Once the Sky Probe relay is added, its channel displays as 'SP'.
If the transmitter had already recorded under another number, this con-
nection is erased the old number used is freed

RETRIEVING THE NUMBER OF A TRANSMITTER
To retrieve the number of a transmitter already linked to your receiver:
▪Use and keys to select number _ _ (between BL/100 and 0).
▪The screen flashes and the number displayed is replaced by two hori-
zontal lines.
▪Switch the transmitter whose number you are looking for off and then
on again. It flashes orange quickly.
▪After a few seconds, the screen stops flashing and automatically com-
mutes to the detected number. The transmitter slowly flashes orange.

LOCATING AN ANIMAL OR A POI
USING THE RECEIVER
Use and keys to select the transmitter corresponding to:
▪Your animal (between 1 and 16).
▪A saved POI (between P0 and P9).
The screen displays the following information issued by the transmitter:
1. Altitude of the animal or POI relative to the receiver (the precision
depends on the GPS measurements).
2. Distance from the animal or POI.
3. Direction of the animal or POI.
4. Elapsed time since last reception of data from the transmitter.
5. Battery status and UHF signal level.
Note: Some of the information transmitted to the receiver (such as battery
state, altitude) depend on the distance with the transmitter. If the animal is
too far away, the receiver will not receive its position any more. Altitude
and battery state are not displayed any more.

IMPROVING TRANSMISSION
PERFORMANCES
IN ALL CASES
To get the maximal operating distance between receiver and transmitter,
you should optimize the radio transmissions.
Take the following precautions, especially for long distance transmissions.
▪During use, try to hold the receiver casing as much as possible by its
lower part.
▪Stay on as high as possible ground (for example on a hilltop) as large
obstacles reduce signal quality.
▪Direct the receiver toward the sky and, if possible, extend your arm.
▪Keep your devices properly charged.
ADDITIONAL CAR ANTENNA
Thanks to its 1.8 m cable and magnetic base, this antenna can easily be
attached to a metal piece positioned in height such as a car roof.
▪Unscrew the receiver antenna.
▪Screw the additional antenna cable on the receiver.
▪Position the additional antenna on the car roof, as high as possible.
Accessory sold separately.

YAGI ANTENNA
To connect the additional directional 869.5 MHzYagi antenna to the
receiver:
▪Unscrew the receiver antenna.
▪Slide the Yagi antenna at right angle in the provided space on the
handle.
▪Place the receiver on the handle.
▪Screw the Yagi antenna cable on the receiver.
Direct the Yagi antenna in the transmitter estimated direction.

SKY PROBE RELAY
The Sky Probe relay, when placed in height (on a tower top, on a hilltop,
even on a drone) greatly improve the transmission between transmitters
and receiver.
The Sky Probe relay receives the signal from the transmitters and forwards
them periodically to the receiver. As it is elevated, without obstacles, the
transmission is higher quality.
▪Charge the Sky Probe relay using the same adapter as the receiver. A
fully charged relay has an autonomy of about 24 hours.
▪The Sky Probe relay is operational when charging. You can use it while
it is connected to a power source (such as solar panels).
▪Pair the Sky Probe relay with the receiver the same way as you add a
transmitter. Whatever the number assigned, it will be displayed as
'SP' to recognize it easily.
▪Switch the Sky Probe relay on and off by placing the magnet next to
the mark on its casing.
▪When starting up, the Sky Probe relay flashes orange for a few
seconds until it finds a GPS signal. Once the GPS signal is found, it
flashes green more slowly.
Accessory sold separately.

CHARGING YOUR DEVICES
THE RECEIVER
▪To charge your receiver, connect it to the mains using the provided
5V adapter.
▪The powering connector is a standard mini USB connector.

MAINTAINING YOUR DEVICES
CLEANING
▪After use, clean your devices with a dry cloth to keep them in good con-
dition.
▪If the devices are too dirty, clean the casing and the screen with a
slightly damp cloth or a very mild cleaning product.
▪Avoid wetting the power and antenna connecting cables.
▪Never soak the receiver in water. The transmitters are waterproof.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
▪To increase the batteries lifetime, always charge your batteries
before storing them.
▪If devices using rechargeable batteries are not used for a long period,
fully charge them regularly.
