1 USB Smart Card Reader
1.1 Installing the USB drives
It’s important to strictly follow the instruction manual when installing the USB drivers. See
the section describing your operating system.
You can download the latest vers on of MLCard, conta n ng the USB dr vers from our homepage:
http://www.megal nk.no
NB!
The card reader s the SCR335 from SCM M crosystems. It’s mportant that the correct dr ver s
nstalled. Make sure that W ndows™ do not download dr vers tself.
MLCard does only work w th th s spec f c card reader.
MLCard must be vers on 8.10 or h gher.

1.1.1 Windows Vista
W ndows V sta nstalls the dr ver w thout ask ng the user. Thus you have to manually overr de the
dr ver setup.
Please do the follow ng:
Close all open appl cat ons. Connect the Smart Card Reader and wa t unt l V sta d splays the
“Installed new dev ces” d alog.
Then open the Start Menu and start the “device manager appl cat on.

R ght cl ck the dev ce “USB Smart Card Reader , located under Smart Card readers, and open
the Proterties d alog.

Press ”Update Driver”.

Select ”Browse my computer for driver, manually”.
Browse to the folder MLCard s located and press Next >.

The dr ver nstallat on s completed. Press Finish.
You can now start MLCard.

1.1.2 Windows XP SP2
Before you beg n, close all act ve appl cat ons runn ng on your computer, nclud ng MLRange.
Connect the Smart Card Reader to the computer.
W ndows w ll automat cally detect your new dev ce. The follow ng d alog w ll appear:
Select No, not this time and press Next >.
Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and press Next >.

Select Search for the best driver in these locations. and enable ONLY Include this location in
the search:. Browse to the folder MLCard s located. Then press Next >.
Select Continue Anyway.

Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended).
Select ONLY Specify a location. Press Next >.
