SIM CARD
TITAN requires a SIM card to send geographical coordinates and other data.
N.B. Costs generated by the phone card are borne by the user.
TITAN sends its position in 2 ways:
▪SMS to a mobile phone (cost of 1 SMS)
▪GPRS to Mobisat's Greenbox®service (positions are posted on the Internet)
To calculate consumption for the cards when connecting to the Mobisat Greenbox service, establish how often you want to
receive a position from the GPS tracker. Although sending 1 position has a weight of just a few bytes, the operator charges for
1Kb for each connection (similar to a flat fee per answered call).
Therefore: 1 position = 1Kb
The product's consumption of data traffic depends on its configuration and the average number of hours a vehicle is in motion
(TITAN can be configured to send more data when it is moving and less data when it is stationary).
The cost of GPRS traffic varies from one operator to another. On average, data consumption can range from 1Mb to 300Mb per
month.
Caution: Inquire with the telephone network operator about fees charged for GPRS roaming with the SIM card used with the
product.

INSTALLING TITAN ON A VEHICLE
2 TYPES OF INSTALLATION
1. BASIC INSTALLATION: requires installation of cables:
a. RED: positive
b. BLUE: ground
c. YELLOW: key / dashboard
2. ADVANCED INSTALLATION: installation of optional accessories or other available outputs and inputs
CONNECTING THE CABLES
▪The cables must be connected while TITAN is not powered on
▪The cables should be secured to other cables or parts not subject to movements. Try to avoid proximity to heat sources
and moving objects near the wires
▪The connections must not be visible. If the factory insulation has been removed, restore the cable insulation
▪Additional insulation must be applied if the cables are installed outdoors or in places where they can be damaged or
exposed to heat, moisture, dirt, etc.
▪Cables cannot be connected to on-board computers or control units
POWER SUPPLY (red cable: positive)
▪Make sure that after turning off the vehicle's on-board computer, there is still power available. Depending on the
vehicle, this can occur within a time of 5/30 minutes
▪When TITAN is connected, be sure to measure the voltage to verify that it has not
decreased
▪It is advisable to connect the main power cable in the fuse box
CONNECTING THE IGNITION CABLE (yellow cable: DIN1)
▪Check to make sure it's an actual ignition cable: the power should not cut off while the vehicle engine is running; the
power should cut off when the vehicle and dashboard are turned off
▪Check to make sure it isn't an ACC cable (when the key is in the first position, the majority of the vehicle's electronic
utilities should be available)
▪Check that power is still available when other devices on the vehicle are turned off
▪Check that the ignition is connected to the power relay output. As an alternative, any other relay that has output power is
fine (when the vehicle is turned on)
GROUND CONNECTION (blue wire: ground)
▪The ground wire must be connected to the vehicle's chassis or metal parts that are fixed to the body
▪If the ground wire is secured with a bolt, the loop must be connected to the wire
▪For the best contact point, remove any paint stains from the spot at which the loop is connected
Caution: The mains connection must be at a very low impedance point in the vehicle's electrical system. On a car,
these points are the battery terminals. Therefore, it is advisable to connect the power supply for TITAN (GND and
POWER cable) directly to the battery terminals.
Another option is to connect the power supply inside the fuse box (if this is not possible, connect to the power supplied to the
point at which the on-board computer fuses are located).
Connecting the ground wire at an arbitrary point to the mass of the vehicle is unacceptable, because the potential static and
dynamic on the ground line will be unpredictable, and may cause unstable operation and damage TITAN.

MOBISAT®TITAN - User Manual v.2.0.3 - www.mobisat.eu - Page 10 of 16
INSTALLING TITAN
▪TITAN should be installed on surfaces that are NOT covered by metallic
elements
▪TITAN must be securely attached to the surface or the cables
▪TITAN cannot be installed onto moveable or overheated parts
▪The SIM card must be inserted when the connector is unplugged (TITAN is
not powered on)
Position TITAN as shown in the Figure.
The GNSS antenna is under the logo, and should therefore face upwards. It is not advisable to install the device at a point that is
more than ¾ covered with metal surfaces.
Thanks to its IP67 protection, TITAN can also be mounted outside the vehicle. TITAN has 4 holes on the IP67 casing for fastening
with screws (optional). TITAN can be fixed with cable ties or adhesive tape.
OPTIONAL ACCESORIES
CAUTION: Extra accessories such as iButton®, door sensors, panic buttons, etc., must be purchased separately.
INSTALLING AN iButton®
iButtons®are unique recognition devices, since each has its very own unique alphanumeric identification code.
TITAN is able to read these devices thanks to its Dallas WIRE connection®. iButtons®can be used for:
▪Driver recognition. TITAN is capable of storing up to 50 iButton codes®.In this mode, the vehicle cannot be started with
the ignition key alone; the vehicle can be started if the driver possesses an iButton®with a code that is recognized by
the system.
▪Immobilizer function. In this mode, TITAN prevents the vehicle from being started up until the iButton®is connected.
This will prevent the start of the vehicle in the event that an attempt is made to start the vehicle with the ignition key
alone. In this mode, the vehicle is authorized only if an iButton®has been connected.
N.B. to use the Immobilizer function, the DOUT2 output (digital output 2) must also be installed to the starter motor, as
indicated on the next page.

MOBISAT®TITAN - User Manual v.2.0.3 - www.mobisat.eu - Page 11 of 16
PANIC BUTTONS, DOOR SENSORS, etc.
External alarms (e.g. sirens), panic buttons, sensors that detect the opening of doors, the vehicle ignition, etc., always detect 2
states: High or Low Voltage. The digital input 2 (DIN2) on TITAN is used to read this information. The figure below shows the wiring
diagram of a Panic Button, open door sensor, etc.
If the sensor's output signal is negative, a relay must be installed to convert the negative signal to positive, as shown below:
RELAY AND STARTER BLOCK IMMOBILIZER
The connection below shows the vehicle's start-relay wiring diagram. TITAN can disable the starter when the output is in: OFF. If
an iButton is installed, the Immobilizer controls the device's output 2 (DOUT 2).
AUTOMOTIVE RELAYS
Common automotive relays are used to invert a signal or immobilize the starter motor. Relays are available in 12V or 24V
versions.

THEFT PROTECTION - AUTOGEOFENCE
TITAN is equipped with a technology that allows you to be notified promptly in case of
theft.
The alarm is activated:
▪Whenever the ignition key is removed from the vehicle
▪Whenever the iButton®is removed from the vehicle (if the vehicle is turned
off and an iButton is installed)
In case of lifting, dragging, etc., TITAN recognizes a theft the moment its position is detected at a distance greater than 500m from
the point where the vehicle was parked. 500 metres is the length of the virtual fence radius, as the default factory setting. The
extent of the radius can be changed by the user as desired (see below).
We recommend not changing the amplitude of the Autogeofence radius in order to prevent the triggering of "false alarms." False
alarms can be generated in cases where the vehicle on which TITAN is installed is parked indoors or in a shaded area (where the
satellite network is inaccessible).
Caution: in case of theft call 112 or 113, communicating to the police the vehicle's location in real time (using the App: Greenbox).
If you are able to provide real-time information on the location of a stolen vehicle, law enforcement officers are required to take
steps for its immediate recovery.
AUTOGEOFENCING CONTROLS
TITAN sends each alarm to the Mobisat ® Greenbox service and your Smartphone via a push notification (if the Greenbox APP is
installed on the Smartphone and if push notifications are enabled). It is advisable to configure the product to also send 1 SMS in
case of theft (in the event that the Internet connection on your Smartphone is not active). A mobile phone number at which to send
the theft alarm must be indicated in TITAN. This is done by sending the command:
<space><space>setparam<space>150<space>number at which to send the alarm.
The number to which the alarm should be sent MUST ALWAYS be indicated with the country code without ZEROS and without the
"+ " sign.
For example, if the phone number to which the alarms should be sent is 123456789 and the country code is 0039 (Italy), the
command issued would be the following: <space><space>setparam<space>150<space>39123456789
