1General presentation
1.1 Preliminary
1.1.1 Document summary
This document is intended for people in charge of installing and commissioning an OXO Connect in
customer premises.
According to the customer order, the OXO Connect is delivered as follows:
• In Build To Customer Order (BTCO) mode, the OXO Connect is delivered with a software version
including:
• The customer's country target with related languages and voice prompts
• License keys purchased by the customer (main and CTI)
• In stock mode, available as of R3.0, the OXO Connect is delivered without prior knowledge of the
characteristics of the final customer. Taken into the Business Partner Fleet, the OXO Connect is
delivered with a generic software version including the XX country target, with the related languages
and voice prompts. The delivery in stock mode does not include license keys (main or CTI).
On customer site, the customer’s country target and license keys must be loaded on the OXO
Connect before starting its configuration.
The country target and license keys can be either automatically loaded on the OXO Connect via the
Cloud Connect infrastructure, or configured manually using the OMC application.
This document only describes the features supported by OXO Connect RCz.n* or higher (for example:
MMC station is not described since it is not supported). Please refer to the OXO Connect
Documentation Note, for historical information. In addition, the Cross Compatibility document is the
reference for detailed status about supported and unsupported devices and applications.
* RCz.n, with z greater than or equal to 2, stands for any release starting from 2016 introducing
Connect capabilities.
It appears on:
• Product stickers with release format: RC0zn/xx.yy
• In any documentation (including this one) as: Rz.n
For readability purposes, the OXO Connect is called PBX in the rest of the document.
1.1.2 Prerequisites
The customer order must be complete before you proceed with PBX installation on site. Ensure you
have access to:
• The OMC application installed on a computer connected to the PBX (refer to the document
Management tools (reference: 8AL91210))
• PBX network parameters, such as:
• PBX IP address
• Subnetwork mask
• Router IP address
• VLAN ID (if needed)
• Proxy server address and credentials (if needed)
• DHCP server
8AL91217USAA - Ed. 01 - July 2018 - Installation Manual 11/216
• NTP server
• DNS server
• The partner fleet reference for an installation in BTCO mode
The partner fleet reference allows partners to display and identify their PBX in the Fleet Dashboard.
• The customer references for an installation in stock mode with automatic entry of country target and
license keys:
• Partner fleet reference
• Partner sub-fleet reference
• Installation reference (customer reference or CC-Product-ID)
• In stock mode with manual entry of country target and license keys:
• An up-to-date software version (required for country target selection)
• License keys purchased by the customer including the main software key (with *.msl extension)
and the CTI software key (with *.csl extension)

1.3.1.2 General recommendations
Protective earthing
This equipment must imperatively be connected to a permanent earth protection installed
according to current legislation.
Installation of the mains power
The mains power must be installed as close as possible to the unit and must be easily accessible. The
power supply lead is used as the master switch.
Free board slots
It is essential that empty board slots are guarded with the appropriate expansion slot
covers for full electromagnetic shielding, the safety of people working nearby (in the presence
of hazardous voltages) and the prevention of fire propagation (from inside the unit).
Lead and Lithium batteries
There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are incorrectly replaced. Only use batteries of
identical type, or manufacturer recommended equivalents. Discard used batteries according to
the battery manufacturer's instructions.
Chapter 1General presentation
8AL91217USAA - Ed. 01 - July 2018 - Installation Manual 13/216
Power supply
Due to the presence of hazardous voltages, the rear metal panel can only be removed by
qualified personnel.
If it is necessary to carry out work on a power supply unit, first disconnect the mains cable from the
system as well as any external EPS48 power connections that may be connected. Then remove the
rear metal panel of the power supply block and disconnect the batteries.
High leakage current
A permanent earth connection is essential before making TRT/TNV-3 telecommunication
network connections.
In the case of a poor earth connection, it is MANDATORY to disconnect the telecommunications
accesses before reconnecting the equipment to earth. It is then necessary to verify that all the
connections have been made correctly.
Before removing any board that provides access to a telecommunications network of
class TRT/TNV-3, make sure you disconnect the links. Reconnect the links once the board is re-
inserted.
Installation of DECT bases
For further information on recommendations relating to the exposure of the public to the
electromagnetic field, refer to "Installation of DECT bases".
1.3.1.3 Declaration of conformance with directives
1.3.1.3.1 Ukrain
001
This Ukrainian label indicates that this product is compliant with Technical Regulations for Low
Voltage Electrical Equipment and Technical Regulations in Electro-Magnetic Compatibility in force in
Ukraine.
This equipment is designed to be connected to the public telephone network using the appropriate
interfaces.
1.3.1.3.2 EC Logo
The CE labeling indicates that this product conforms to the European directives currently in force, in
particular:
