Adjustments
You’ll want to adjust the shoulder straps in such a way that the binocular sits com-
fortably against the front of your stomach or just above your stomach (Figure 4),
and can be raised up to your eyes for use, with a small amount of tension coming
from the shoulder straps. The harness is designed to keep the binoculars from
swinging wildly around while you hike, is also designed to provide slight tension
while gazing through the binoculars to help steady the view. There are four adjust-
ment clips on the shoulder straps, two above the shoulder, and two below (Figure
1). Slide these evenly and equally in or out until the binoculars t comfortably
against your torso, and can still be raised to your eyes.
You’ll notice the binocular straps sliding up along the shoulder strap when you
bring the binoculars up to your eyes. The binocular strap should slide high enough
on the shoulder straps to bring the binoculars comfortably to your eyes while hav-
ing a small amount of tension.
Care and Cleaning
The harness is made out of a breathable mesh so hiking in hot or damp condi-
tions shouldn’t provide any discomfort. After prolonged use, it may be necessary
to clean the harness. It’s best to use a damp cloth instead of machine washing,
because the straps can get tangled in the washing machine agitator. Use warm
water with a very small amount of mild laundry detergent dissolved into the water
and spot clean the harness with a cloth. Let the harness air dry and do not put the
harness in the dryer.
