1. Read Instructions – All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the
product is operated.
2. Retain Instructions – The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future

5. Cleaning – Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid
cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp, soft cloth for cleaning.
6. Water and Moisture – Do not use this product near water—for example, near a bath tub,
wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool; and the like.
7. Accessories – Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The
product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product.
Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer, or sold
with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow manufacturer’s instructions and
should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.
8. Ventilation – Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure
reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must
not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a
bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation
such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instructions
have been adhered to.
9. Power Sources – This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated
on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your
product dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate from battery power,
or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.
10. Grounding and Polarization – This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating-
current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power
outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the
outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace
your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
11. Power-cord Protection – Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely
to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention
to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.

12. Lightning – For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left
unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect
the antenna or cable systems. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and
power-line surges.
13. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience
receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
14. Object and Liquid Entry – Never push objects of any kind into this product through
openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a
fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on this product.
15. Servicing – Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may
expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
16. Damage Requiring Service – Unplug this product from wall outlet and refer servicing to
qualified personnel under the following conditions:
• When power supply cord or plug is damaged.
• If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into product.
• If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
• If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust
only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper
adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will require extensive work by
a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation.
• If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way.
• If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance – this indicates a need for service.
17. Replacement Parts – When replacement parts are required, be sure the technician has used
replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original
part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
18. Safety Check – Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service
technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating
condition.
19. Wall or Ceiling Mounting – The product should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as
recommended by the manufacturer.

YOUR NEW SPEAKERS
Cinema™speakers are magnetically shielded (except ADPs) for use close to a television or video
screen. Keyhole slots on the rear of speakers allow them to be mounted on a wall (hardware not
included). They also have holes spaced 60 mm apart in the backs of their enclosures which allow
for wall mounting with included brackets
(some models) or with a variety of Paradigm®brackets
(optional extra—see your Authorized Paradigm
®
Dealer for more information) .
If wall mounting, take extra care in installation—always use safety straps as secondary restraints.
Your speakers can also be placed on a bookshelf or desk, or mounted on optional Paradigm®
speaker stands that are both elegant and functional (see your Dealer) .
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The ‘Watts’ (W) rating indicated on the rear panel is the maximum AC power your subwoofer will
draw when producing its maximum power output. However, the actual wattage draw will vary with
the bass content of the program material.
HOW TO AVOID SPEAKER DAMAGE
Use an appropriate amplifier. At high volumes, a very powerful amplifier can overdrive
your speakers and damage them. On the other hand, if your amplifier isn’t powerful enough, it
can produce clipping distortion that can easily damage high-frequency drivers. (See your Dealer.)
Don’t be fooled by your amplifier’s volume control. It adjusts listening level—it does not
indicate power output. If your speakers begin to sound harsh or grating, or if you hear the bass
breaking up, turn the volume down immediately or you will damage your speakers!
This type of
damage constitutes abuse and is not covered by warranty!
Tone controls and equalizers can demand even more power from an amplifier, lowering the
point at which it produces clipping distortion. Use them sparingly, if at all, and do not use them
when listening at loud levels.

CENTER SPEAKER
Place the center speaker above or below your TV, whichever position is closer to ear level. Position it
flush with the front of the TV to minimize unwanted sound reflections. It should be about the same
distance away from the primary listening area as the front speakers.
(Some A / V receivers and
processors can electronically adjust for differences in distance.) Your center speaker can be placed on
top of a TV, on a shelf, or wall mounted (see following section on Wall Mounting) .
If you are placing a Cinema™110 C speaker on top of a TV or shelf, you must use the Adjustable
TV-Top/Shelf Support included (Fig. 3). Installation is as follows:
1. Feed speaker cable through opening in the bottom of the support, then connect as outlined in
“Speaker Connection” later in this manual.
2. Align screws with horizontal markings on support; insert screws into 60-mm holes and tighten.
3. Apply self-adhesive rubber pads (included) as shown in Fig. 3.
4. To adjust tilt angle of speaker (if desired), loosen screws and slide bracket up or down until
desired angle is attained. Retighten screws.
SURROUND SPEAKERS
Cinema™CT surround speakers vary by system. They may be direct radiating (like the front speakers)
or Adapted Dipole (ADP™) surrounds (their model name will include “ADP”).
Direct-Radiating Surrounds should be kept well away from the listening area for optimal
surround-sound performance.
ADP
™
Surrounds are designed to be used with their drivers firing toward the front and back
walls to ensure a large, reverberant soundfield (nameplate “points” towards listening area).
Surround speakers may be wall mounted
(see section on Wall Mounting) , mounted on Paradigm®
speaker stands, or placed on shelves or high furniture (i.e. bookshelves). If placing ADPs on shelves
or high furniture, make sure there is at least 18 in (45 cm) of free space on either side of the
speaker. If mounting in a corner, see your Dealer.
The following are placement guidelines to help you get the best performance from your new speakers.
NOTE: Paradigm center-channel speakers are designed to provide exceptional timbre matching with
all Paradigm main speakers. Paradigm

Cinema
™
110 L/R (left/right) and 110 C (center) speakers are
designed to be used together to further optimize timbral accuracy.
FRONTS (Left/Right)
For the most accurate timbral balance, place your front speakers so that their high-frequency drivers
are approximately ear level. Measure the distance from the listening area to your speakers. For
optimal imaging, place the speakers approximately 3/4 of that distance from each other (Fig. 1).
Cinema™speakers can be placed on a shelf, used with optional Paradigm®speaker stands
(see your
Dealer) , or wall mounted (Fig. 2) (see following section on Wall Mounting).

5.1 Surround Configuration
Direct Radiating Surrounds
Position speaker on each side of the listening area as shown in Fig. 4a.
ADP
™
Surrounds
Side-Wall Placement: Position speakers on each side of listening area, as shown in Fig. 4b.
Corner Placement: Alternatively, position speakers in each of the adjacent back corners as shown
in Fig. 4c. They can also be moved out from the back corners (maintaining the same angle position)
and placed as close as 3 ft (1 m) from the main listening area.
6.1 Surround Configuration (optional extra, see Dealer)
ADP™Rear
With its large, reverberant soundfield, an ADP™speaker is also the best choice for the rear
channel in a 6.1 surround-sound system. Place one ADP™in the center behind the listening area
(Fig. 4d), with drivers firing towards the side walls (nameplate “points” toward listening area).
7.1 Surround Configuration (optional extra, see Dealer)
Direct-Radiating Rears
Position behind the listening area—one speaker slightly right and other slightly left, as shown in Fig. 4e.
Keep direct-radiating speakers well back from the listening area for better surround performance.

™
Rears
Position behind the listening area—one speaker slightly right and the other slightly left, as shown in Fig. 4e.
Drivers should be firing toward the side walls and each other to ensure a large, reverberant soundfield
(nameplate “points” toward listening area).

WALL MOUNTING
If you are not comfortable performing the following mounting procedures, have a professional perform
the installation (see your Dealer).
FLUSH TO WALL USING KEYHOLES (Cinema™ 70, 90, CC, ADP, 110 L/R, 110 C, 220, 330)
NOTE: When mounting Cinema™center speakers, if you run speaker cable down the face of the wall,
apply self-adhesive bumper pads (included) to rear corners of enclosure to accommodate the cable.
1. Using #10 screws (not included) screw into the stud. (If model has two key holes, measure
distance apart and use two screws). If you cannot locate a stud, use appropriate mounting
hardware that will hold screws securely (see your Dealer) . Do not screw all the way in, head
should stand out approximately 3/8 inch (9.5 mm). With ADP™speakers, head should stand
out 1/8 inch (3 mm). With Cinema™ CC, head should stand out 5/16 inch (8 mm). If using
bumper pads add 1/8 inch (3 mm) to the amount head stands out.
2. Connect speaker cables as outlined in “Speaker Connection” section of this manual.
3. Align keyhole to screw head, and using an “in and down” motion mount speaker to wall.
ANGLE BRACKETS (included with 110 L/R and 110 C speakers only, optional use) (Figs. 5a, 5b)
Angle brackets may be used to tilt your 110 C speaker up or down (Fig. 5c) to optimize clarity and
intelligibility, and to tilt your 110 L/R speakers slightly inward for better imaging.
NOTE:
Position bracket so that the speaker’s sound is directed toward the listening area .
1. Using appropriate screws and hardware (not included) mount bracket with supplied safety
strap to stud at desired location. If you cannot locate to a stud, use appropriate mounting
hardware that will hold the bracket securely to the wall
(see your Dealer) .
2. Screw two #12 screws (included) into the two 60-mm holes in the back of the speaker
enclosure—do not screw them all the way in, heads should stand out approximately 1/8 inch
(3 mm).
3. Connect speaker cables as outlined in “Speaker Connection” section of this manual.
4. Connect safety strap to speaker using #12 screw in the remaining hole.
5. Hang speaker from bracket keyholes using an “in and down” motion.

THE SUBWOOFER
You are about to experience the accurate deep bass performance of our Cinema™subwoofers.
These subwoofers offer high output with low distortion, deep bass extension and superb definition.
To achieve optimal bass performance for music and home theater, please read through the guidelines
for subwoofer placement that follow.
INPUT FACILITIES
Low-Level Input
Allows connection from the Sub/LFE Output of an A/V receiver, processor or other suitable
low-level source.
CONTROL FACILITIES
Auto On/Standby
Subwoofer will turn on when it receives an input signal and the LED will turn Green. If no signal is sensed
for a period of time, the subwoofer will automatically switch to Standby and the LED will turn Red.
Subwoofer Level
Balances the subwoofer output level to your speaker system’s output.
Subwoofer Cut-Off Frequency
Controls the subwoofer’s upper-frequency cut-off to match the low-frequency characteristics of
your speakers.
Subwoofer Phase Switch
Changes the phase of the subwoofer by 180orelative to your speakers.
SUBWOOFER PLACEMENT
We recommend positioning your subwoofer close to the wall, between the front speakers.
Corner placement, Fig. 7 (❶) provides the most bass, but sometimes at the expense of accuracy. A
subwoofer placed near a wall (❷) usually provides a good balance of quantity and accuracy.
SPEAKER CONNECTION
Turn your amplifier OFF before connecting speakers.
This will avoid damage which could result from accidental
shorting of speaker cables.
Your speakers are equipped with binding posts that can be used with banana, pin or spade
connectors, as well as with bare wire. Using high-quality speaker cable
(see your Dealer) , connect
one speaker at a time to your receiver/amplifier. Connect the red (+) amplifier terminal to the red
(+) speaker terminal and the black (–) to the black (–) (Fig. 6). Tighten the posts firmly by hand, but
don’t over-tighten them.
Turn your amplifier on and listen to your speakers. If you notice a complete lack of mid-bass and a
dislocated image, one or more of your speakers may be connected out-of-phase (their polarity is
reversed). Re-check to ensure that each speaker’s cable is connected with correct polarity: red (+) to
red (+) and black (–) to black (–). Make sure wires are firmly fastened.

SUBWOOFER CONNECTION
SAFETY PRECAUTION: Before proceeding with this section be sure to read and
follow all safety precaution instruction notices at the beginning of this manual.
Turn all components OFF before connecting the subwoofer.
Ensure subwoofer is installed in a location where any rear amplifier parts
(panels, heatsinks, etc.) cannot be accidentally touched.
We recommend the use of high-quality cables and connectors when hooking up your subwoofer (see
your Dealer).
Low-Level Input (Fig. 8)
(For use with a receiver, processor or control unit with a Sub-Out/LFE-Out jack.)
Using an RCA-to-RCA interconnect cable connect the subwoofer using the Right (Mono) input as
shown in Fig. 8.
SETTING SUBWOOFER CONTROLS
When setting up your subwoofer and fine tuning it with your system, use music and video soundtracks that
you know well. They should contain selections with extended bass that is continuous and repetitive. Set any
tone or equalizer controls on your receiver or preamplifier to flat (zero) and switch any loudness controls off.
Room acoustics vary. Experiment with subwoofer placement to find the best position. Certain
subwoofer positions may cause some bass frequency cancellation—when your speakers and
subwoofer are “out-of-phase” they work against each other through the crossover region and bass
is reduced. If bass sounds “weak” or “dislocated,” change the phase according to the instructions
in point 4, below. When adjusting your subwoofer, remember that bass should not be overbearing—
the subwoofer should not draw attention to itself—but it shouldn’t be “thin” or difficult to hear,
either. Use the following set-up tips to fine-tune subwoofer bass in your listening room:
1. Turn the
Subwoofer Cut-Off Frequency Control to the middle of the “Normal” range.
2. Slowly rotate the Subwoofer Level Control until you match the subwoofer output level
with the level of your speakers. Bass should be clearly audible but not intrusive.
3. If the sound is too “thin” set the
Subwoofer Cut-Off Frequency Control higher than the
“Normal” range; if the sound becomes “boomy” set the Subwoofer Cut-Off Frequency
Control lower than the normal range.
4. If the bass sounds weak or “dislocated” you may have a phase alignment problem. Your Cinema™
subwoofer has a Phase Switch which is normally set to the 0° position. Switch it to the 180°
position—this will switch the phase of the subwoofer by 180° relative to your speakers. Listen to
determine if you hear more bass. If you don’t hear more bass, return the Phase Switch to its original
position and then experiment with subwoofer placement to find an area of the room where there is
less bass cancellation.

LIMITED WARRANTY
Paradigm®speakers covered in this manual are warranted to be and remain free of manufacturing
and/or material defects for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase.
For Paradigm®subwoofers covered in this manual, all parts including the amplifier are warranted
to be and remain free of manufacturing and/or material defects for a period of three (3) years.
Within the time periods specified, repair, replacement or adjustment of parts for manufacturing and/or
material defects will be free of charge to the original owner.
Thermal or mechanical abuse/misuse is not covered under warranty.
Limitations:

Warranty begins on date of original retail purchase from an Authorized Paradigm®Dealer only.
It is not transferable

Warranty applies to product in normal home use only. If product is subjected to any of the
conditions outlined in the next section, warranty is void

Warranty does not apply if the product is used in professional or commercial applications
Warranty is Void if:

The product has been abused (intentionally or accidentally)
•
The product has been used in conjunction with unsuitable or faulty equipment
•
The product has been subjected to damaging signals, derangement in transport, mechanical
damage or any abnormal conditions
•
The product (including cabinet) has been tampered with or damaged by an unauthorized
service facility
•
The serial number has been removed or defaced

Provide normal/reasonable operating care and maintenance

Provide or pay for transportation charges for product to service facility
•
Provide proof of purchase (your sales receipt given at time of purchase from your Authorized
Paradigm®Dealer must be retained for proof-of-purchase date)

or Import Distributor (outside the U.S. and Canada) to arrange, bring in or ship prepaid, any defective

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, of merchantability, fitness for

1. Lire les instructions – Lire attentivement toutes les instructions de sécurité et d'utilisation
avant l'utilisation du produit.
2. Conserver les instructions – Conserver les instructions de sécurité et d'utilisation, pour
consultation ultérieure.
3. Respecter les avertissements – Observer tout avertissement figurant sur le produit ou dans
les instructions d'utilisation.
4. Observer les instructions – Respecter toutes les instructions d'utilisation du produit.
5. Nettoyage – Débrancher le produit de la prise de courant électrique avant tout nettoyage. Ne pas
utiliser un produit de nettoyage liquide ou aérosol. Pour le nettoyage, utiliser un chiffon humidifié.
6. Eau et humidité – Ne pas utiliser ce produit à proximité d'eau – par exemple, sous-sol humide
ou proximité de baignoire, bac de lavage, évier de cuisine, bac de buanderie, piscine, etc.
7. Accessoires – Ne pas placer ce produit sur un support instable (chariot, bridage, trépied,
table, etc.). La chute de ce produit pourrait faire subir de graves blessures à un enfant ou à
un adulte, et gravement endommager le produit. Utiliser ce produit uniquement avec un
dispositif de support (chariot, bridage, trépied, table, etc.) recommandé par le fabricant, ou
vendu avec le produit. Pour le montage du produit, observer les instructions du fabricant et
utiliser tout accessoire recommandé par le fabricant.
8. Ventilation – Les ouvertures d'aération de l'enceinte assurent la ventilation et permettent un
fonctionnement fiable du produit; ceci empêche un échauffement excessif du produit. Veiller
à ne pas obstruer/recouvrir ces ouvertures – ceci peut se produire par exemple si on place le
produit sur un lit, canapé, tapis ou toute autre surface similaire. Ne pas placer ce produit dans
une enceinte préfabriquée – par exemple une bibliothèque ou un support – en l'absence d'une
ventilation adéquate conforme aux prescriptions du fabricant.
9. Sources d'énergie – Ce produit doit être alimenté à partir d'une source d'électricité dont les
caractéristiques correspondent aux indications de la plaque signalétique. En cas d'incertitude
quant aux caractéristiques de la source d'énergie de la résidence, consulter le commerçant qui
a vendu le produit ou le fournisseur local d'électricité. Pour un produit conçu pour l'alimentation
par piles, batterie ou une autre source d'énergie, consulter les instructions d'utilisation.
10. Liaison à la terre et polarisation – Ce produit peut être équipé d'un cordon d'alimentation
comportant une fiche de branchement polarisée (l'une des broches est plus large que l'autre),
pour courant alternatif; une seule orientation de la fiche en permet l'insertion dans la prise de
courant – ceci est une caractéristique de sécurité. S'il n'est pas facile d'enfoncer
complètement la fiche dans la prise de courant, essayer d'inverser l'orientation de la fiche.
S'il n'est toujours pas possible d'enfoncer la fiche dans la prise de courant, contacter un
électricien qui pourra remplacer la prise de courant périmée. Ne pas circonvenir la
caractéristique de sécurité de la fiche de branchement polarisée.
11. Protection du cordon d'alimentation – Placer tout cordon d'alimentation ou câble de rallonge
de telle manière qu'il y ait peu de risque qu'une personne marche dessus ou qu'il soit coincé par
un meuble ou autre article; veiller particulièrement à protéger les fiches de branchement et les
prises de courant auxiliaires, et le point où le cordon d'alimentation sort du produit.

12. Foudre – Comme protection additionnelle du produit durant un orage ou lorsque l'appareil ne
sera pas utilisé pour une période prolongée, débrancher l'appareil de la prise de courant et
déconnecter l'antenne ou autre câble; ceci évitera une détérioration du produit par la foudre
ou par d'éventuelles surtensions.
13. Surcharge – Veiller à ne pas surcharger la prise de courant murale, les prises de courant
auxiliaires ou les câbles de rallonge utilisés, car ceci susciterait un risque d'incendie ou de
choc électrique.
14. Entrée de liquide ou d'objet – Ne jamais insérer un quelconque objet dans une ouverture
de ce produit; l'objet pourrait toucher un composant sous tension dangereuse, ou provoquer
un court circuit suscitant un incendie ou choc électrique. Veiller à ne jamais renverser un
quelconque liquide sur ce produit.
15. Entretien – Toute intervention sur ce produit nécessitant l'ouverture du produit ou la dépose
du capot peut exposer l'intervenant à une tension dangereuse ou à d'autres dangers. Confier
tout travail d'entretien à un personnel qualifié.
16. Détérioration réparable – Débrancher le produit de la prise de courant murale, et confier
toute opération de réparation de la liste ci-dessous à un personnel qualifié :

Détérioration du cordon d'alimentation ou de la fiche de branchement.
•
Introduction d'un liquide ou d'un objet dans le produit.
•
Exposition du produit à la pluie ou à de l'eau.
•
Impossibilité de fonctionnement normal du produit conformément aux instructions
d'utilisation. Effectuer des réglages uniquement sur les organes de commande
mentionnés dans les instructions d'utilisation – tout réglage incorrect des autres
composants réglables pourrait provoquer des dommages et nécessiter un travail de
réparation important par un technicien qualifié pour la restauration du fonctionnement
normal du produit.
•
Détérioration du produit par chute ou autrement.
•
Dégradation perceptible de la performance du produit – ceci indique un besoin de réparation
ou réglage.
17. Pièces de rechange – Lorsqu'un remplacement de pièces est nécessaire, veiller à ce que le
technicien utilise des pièces de rechange spécifiées par le fabricant, ou dont les caractéristiques
sont identiques à celles des composants d'origine. L'installation de tout composant non autorisé
peut susciter par une incendie ou un choc électrique, ou d'autres dangers.
18. Contrôle de la sécurité – Lors de l'exécution de toute intervention de service ou réparation
sur ce produit, demander au technicien d'exécuter un contrôle de sécurité permettant de
vérifier que l'appareil est en parfait état de fonctionnement.
19. Montage mural ou au plafond – Tout montage de l'appareil sur un mur ou au plafond doit
être exécuté conformément aux recommandations du fabricant.
20. Chaleur – Placer le produit à distance de toute source de chaleur – radiateur, bouche de
chaleur, réchaud/cuisinière, ou autres appareils (ceci incluant les amplificateurs) générateurs
de chaleur.
